This research aims to find the code-mixing of French language in the dialogue anddescriptions of the English novel. The data were found then analyzed using pragmaticapproach to help explaining the code-mixing. The result of this research indicate that thecode-mixing takes form of a reference of person, reference of food and drink, reference ofexpressive speech (positive) and expressive speech (negative). And based on the context, thecode-mixing refers to some of the context, such as: respect, satire, welcoming and empathy. There are two factors causing the code-mixing, i.e. linguistic factors consisting of noequivalent, French language fluency and clarify the intent of the author. And theextralinguistic factor is the social role of the speakers

TrikotAC filter aids is a combination of a pre-coating material PreKot™ with two adsorbents; activated carbon and lime and their characteristics were investigated in this study. TrikotAC was formulated into three different weight ratios of 5:1:94, 10:1:89 and 10:5:85, respectively. The relationship between adsorption properties and characteristics of the formulated materials particle size distribution, particle density, bulk density, and BET surface area were investigated. The results showed that the adsorption capacity for TrikotAC 10:5:85 (11.88 mg/g) was higher than for the other formulated filter aids samples, and the formulated filter aids material TrikotAC showed promising characteristic as a filter aids and adsorbent for organic compound in fabric filtration system

The characteristics of a formulated filter aids material known as PrekotAC which is a combination of an adsorbent, activated carbon with a pre-coating material was investigated in this study. PrekotAC, was formulated into two different weight ratios of 5:95 and 10:90 respectively. The relationship between the adsorption properties and the characteristics of the formulated materials in terms of its particle size distribution, particle density, bulk density, moisture content as well as its BET surface area was investigated. A specific amount of 100mg of formulated filter aids was placed in a fixed glass tube and subjected to a given concentration of toluene at the temperature of 25°C and 1.0 l pm gas flow rate. The adsorption properties of each filter aids material was tested under various time where the amount of toluene adsorbed by the filter aids was analysed using gas chromatography equipped with flame ionization detector (GC-FID). The ability of the formulated filter aids to adsorb toluene was presented and discussed in this paper

Moral Degradation In Ahmad Tohari's Novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk

The research is actuated by phenomenon of deterioration in the character of a person or group of community members who are generally influenced by the development of the times and advances of technology, imbalanced with the moral consciousness termed moral degradation. Moral degradation is a social problem that can have a negative impact on individuals, community groups, and the state. The purpose of this study is to reveal the existence of moral degradation in Ahmad Tohari's novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk using a qualitative descriptive method, precisely selected as the object of research is related to social phenomena, namely symptoms or events that occur and can be observed in social life. The research is imperative to do as when morality of an individual or group of community members cannot be maintained as already shifted from a noble cultural, moral degradation arises which furthermore if uncontrolled can cause greater social problems. The data in this study are written data derived from phrases and sentences indicating the existence of moral degradation carried out by characters in the novel. Data collection is done by referring to the note-taking method. The results show that there are two points of moral degradation in this novel: human trafficking and hypocrisy.     Keywords: moral degradation, human trafficking, hypocris

Performance of PrekotAC Filter Aids on Pressure Drop across Two Different Filter Media

A study on the performance of formulated PrekotAC filter aids on pressure drop across two different types of filter media, i.e polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and polyimide (P84) was carried out in a laboratory scale fabric filtration system. Filter aids is applied in order to prolong the lifespan of the fabric filter by reducing the pressure drop across a filter cake. PrekotAC which is a combination of 90%wt activated carbon and 10%wt PreKotTM was tested under various material loadings of 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6 mg/mm2 at a constant filtration velocity of 5 m/min across its cake and filter media. The results showed that PrekotAC presents a lower pressure drop across the P84 compared to PTFE filter media under various material loadings. This is because of its different characteristics that effect the porosity of the filter media and allow a higher volumetric airflow passing through, resulting in lower pressure drop compared to PTFE filter media. In addition, the diversity in terms of particle size distribution of the formulated PrekotAC that increase its permeability property helps to reduce the pressure drop across the media and its filter cake. Thus, PrekotAC has a promising characteristic as a two in one filter aids, a pre-coating and adsorbent material for fabric filtration system

Adsorption of volatile organic compound (VOCs) over formulated prechar

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are being released as a result from incomplete combustion processes in the industry. Dry sorbent injection of activated carbon on fabric filters is one of the methods that are being used for VOCs removal in the flue gas. Dry sorbents act as filter aids to enhance the adsorption efficiency besides to overcome wear and tear problems that occurred during filtration. Biochar which is grinded bamboo charcoal was combined with PreKotTM, a pre-coating agent as a filter aids formulation. This study introduced a newly two filter aids formulation known as PreChar10:90 and PreChar20:80 besides biochar as raw material. These three samples were initially evaluated through physical properties of moisture content and surface area before being tested on adsorption tests. PreChar20:80 and biochar presented a good sign with lower moisture content 3.306% and 3.417% respectively. Besides, surface area of both PreChar formulations was consecutively low compared to biochar due to PreKotTM existence as the PreKotTM’s size is much larger. Large particle size of the filter aids results in low surface area available. In the adsorption test, flow rates were manipulated to be 0.1 L/min, 0.3 L/min and 0.5 L/min during the adsorption process. Filter aids formulation promises a huge amount of adsorption capacity by having longer period breakthrough points at which filter aids start to be saturated. It can be concluded that PreChar20:80 results in the highest adsorption capacity at all three different flow rates with 0.437 mg/g, 2.353 mg/g and 11.031 mg/g respectively. In this regard, PreChar20:80 has the potential to be an alternative material for activated carbon in the fabric filter application
