A Technique for Assessment of Parallelism of Specialized Test Variants Using Statistical Methods

    Get PDF
The paper offers a technique for evaluation of parallelism of ongoing student assessment test variants on the basis of statistical methods through the example of tests in mathematics. The authors analyze the test results of National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University students and make adequate conclusions regarding parallelism of text variants

Ontological simulation for educational process organisation in a higher educational institution

Following the new-generation standards is needed to form a task list connected with planning and organizing of an academic process, structure and content formation of degree programmes. Even when planning the structure and content of an academic process, one meets some problems concerning the necessity to assess the correlation between degree programmes and demands of educational and professional standards and to consider today's job-market and students demands. The paper presents examples of ontological simulations for solutions of organizing educational process problems in a higher educational institution and gives descriptions of model development. The article presents two examples: ontological simulation when planning an educational process in a higher educational institution and ontological simulation for describing competences of an IT-specialist. The paper sets a conclusion about ontology application perceptiveness for formalization of educational process organization in a higher educational institution

Basic physiological systems indicator's informative assessment for children and adolescents obesity diagnosis tasks

The healthcare computerization creates opportunities to the clinical decision support system development. In the course of diagnosis, doctor manipulates a considerable amount of data and makes a decision in the context of uncertainty basing upon the first-hand experience and knowledge. The situation is exacerbated by the fact that the knowledge scope in medicine is incrementally growing, but the decision-making time does not increase. The amount of medical malpractice is growing and it leads to various negative effects, even the mortality rate increase. IT-solution's development for clinical purposes is one of the most promising and efficient ways to prevent these effects. That is why the efforts of many IT specialists are directed to the doctor's heuristics simulating software or expert-based medical decision-making algorithms development. Thus, the objective of this study is to develop techniques and approaches for the body physiological system's informative value assessment index for the obesity degree evaluation based on the diagnostic findings

Creating a virtual machine in Matlab as part of business game for educating people with special needs

The paper addresses the problem of adapting people with special needs to their future working environment. We support the idea that organizing courses and business cases on a virtual machine will be a solution to this problem. The analysis of people with special needs behavior in the actual learning process and their e-learning experience shows their ability to adjust their actions and develop adaptation skills relevant to any environment. Then, we analyze their behavior and the ways to involve them in the virtual setting activities, thus enabling them to feel that they are productive employees and members of the society. As the key evidence, we give an algorithm for creating a virtual business game that can engage people of any professions and social niches. We present the detailed algorithm of competences design and instruments of LSA- method, which helps to create a virtual machine for the decision-making process. Participants, including those with special needs, can also correct their decisions, which help them develop their abilities to adapt to their future working environment in a company. The work is interdisciplinary at the confluence of the disabled people behavior analysis and application of the key e-learning technologies. The main advantage of arranging such courses on the virtual machine is that people with special needs acquire the adaptation, communication, and decision-making skills as a part of distance learning
