Cet article retrace l’évolution de la perception d’un média anglophone, le Winnipeg Free Press, concernant la communauté franco-manitobaine. Après plusieurs années de bilinguisme au Canada, les anglophones ont-ils une meilleure perception de la francophonie du Manitoba? L’analyse du contenu de dix années (1994-2004) de ce quotidien a permis de constater que le fait français est plus connu des anglophones, mais il n’est pas nécessairement mieux connu.This paper follows the evolution of how the Anglophone Winnipeg Free Press perceives the Franco-Manitoban community. Les représentations identitaires au Festival du Voyageur et la représentation de ces identités dans les médias de Winnipeg

Cette recherche porte sur la problématique de l’identité francophone en milieu minoritaire et sur les identités véhiculées par le Festival du Voyageur, un festival d’hiver au contenu hautement symbolique célébrant l’histoire francophone au Manitoba. Au niveau théorique, cette recherche montre comment un événement qui peut paraître à première vue anodin remplit certaines fonctions sociales au sein de la communauté en présentant à ses membres une identité collective hautement idéalisée à adopter. Cette recherche porte surtout sur deux types d’identité : celle qui peut être observée sur le terrain et celle qui est véhiculée par les divers médias de Winnipeg. Le corpus de la recherche est constitué d’observations participantes au festival et de l’analyse d’un corpus médiatique constitué de quatre médias : Le Manitoba ce soir de la SRC, le journal télévisé local de la CBC, le Winnipeg Free Press et le journal La Liberté. Notre hypothèse soutient que l’orientation particulière d’un média influence son contenu.This research paper focuses on the issue of Francophone identity in a minority situation and the identities conveyed by the Festival du Voyageur, a winter festival featuring highly symbolic content celebrating the Francophone history in Manitoba. At the theoretical level, this research shows how such an event, however innocuousit may seem, fulfils certain social functions within the community by showcasing a highly idealized collective identity. This research specifically studies two types of identity: on the one hand, an identity that can be observed concretely and empirically, on the other hand, an identity portrayed by various media in Winnipeg. The corpus of the study comprises observations made by people taking part in the Festival, but also an analysis of a media corpus which includes four media: SRC’s Le Manitoba ce soir, the CBC’s local televised news, the Winnipeg Free Press and the newspaper La Liberté. Our hypothesis maintains that a medium’s specific orientation has an influence on its content

Bu makale, son zamanlarda yapılan çalışmalarda ortaya çıkan din ve küreselleşmeyi kuramsallaştırma problemlerine kısmi bir cevaptır. Küresel Çağda farklı dini konumlar merkezli bir tipolojik analiz geliştirilmesi yoluyla Küresel Çağda dini kuramsallaştırma hakkında bir tartışma açmaya çalışıyorum. Uzlaşmaz, muhafazakar, çoğulcu ve göreci olmak üzere sırayla küresel dönemin ayrılmaz bir parçası olan dört ana dini konumu vurgulayacağım. Her bir durumda, konumlarla ilgili empirik yansımaların ardından konumların kısa bir açıklamasını yapacağım. Bu araştırmanın amacı, farklı küreselleşme süreçleri bağlamında din analizinin işe yarar bir aracını geliştirmektir

Symmetry Violation in a Superconducting Film with a Square Array of Ferromagnetic Dots

We study the equilibrium state of a superconducting film covered with a regular square array of perpendicularly magnetized magnetic dots. The dots induce vortices in the film directly under them and antivortices between the dots. We show that the symmetry of the dot array is spontaneously violated by the vortices. The positions of the vortices and the antivortices depend on the magnetization and the size of the dots.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figure
