    The amplitudes at a series of discrete energies obtained from a previuos analysis of pbar+p -> pi+pi have been used as input to a global energy- dependent analysis of data in the momentum range 360 - 1550 MeV/c.     A liquid injection thrust vector control (LITVC) system for the shuttle solid rocket booster (SRB) was analyzed. The LITVC was compared with the SRB baseline flexible seal. A table of LITVC advantages and disadvantages is presented. It is concluded that the LITVC performs well at low to moderate duty cycles, but not for high duty cycle requirements

    In this paper we explore extensions of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model involving two SU(2)LSU(2)_L triplet chiral superfields that share a superpotential Dirac mass yet only one of which couples to the Higgs fields. This choice is motivated by recent work using two singlet superfields with the same superpotential requirements. We find that, as in the singlet case, the Higgs mass in the triplet extension can easily be raised to 125GeV125\,\text{GeV} without introducing large fine-tuning. For triplets that carry hypercharge, the regions of least fine tuning are characterized by small contributions to the T\mathcal T parameter, and light stop squarks, mt~1300450GeVm_{\tilde t_1} \sim 300-450\,\text{GeV}; the latter is a result of the tanβ\tan\beta dependence of the triplet contribution to the Higgs mass. Despite such light stop masses, these models are viable provided the stop-electroweakino spectrum is sufficiently compressed.Comment: 26 pages, 4 figure

    We consider two dielectric membranes suspended inside a Fabry-Perot-cavity, which are cooled to a steady state via a drive by suitable classical lasers. We show that the vibrations of the membranes can be entangled in this steady state.     Coupled pair approach for strongly-interacting trapped fermionic atoms

    We present a coupled pair approach for studying few-body physics in harmonically trapped ultracold gases. The method is applied to a two-component Fermi system of NN particles. A stochastically variational gaussian expansion method is applied, focusing on optimization of the two-body correlations present in the strongly interacting, or unitary, limit. The groundstate energy of the four-, six- and eight-body problem with equal spin populations is calculated with high accuracy and minimal computational effort. We also calculate the structural properties of these systems and discuss their implication for the many-body ultracold gas and other few-body calculations.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figure
