MEMÓRIAS DE PIONEIROS DA EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA: BAIANOS NA ENEFD

Resumo O objetivo do estudo foi apresentar personagens baianos que estudaram na ENEFD, tentando perceber os motivos que impulsionaram a ida destes para o Rio de Janeiro cursar Educação Física. Foram entrevistados cinco professores que estudaram na ENEFD com bolsas de estudos da Instituição. O trato com essas fontes pautou-se pela análise do conteúdo das entrevistas compreendidas enquanto “versões do passado” socialmente situadas em relação aos depoentes. Os resultados revelaram: características do nível econômico-cultural dos estudantes; peculiaridades do processo de seleção; detalhes do processo de concessão de bolsas; e a participação direta dos baianos nos movimentos esportivos e políticos da escola. Palavras-chave: Educação Física; Bahia; ENEFD.   Abstract Memories of physical education pioneers: Bahia students at ENEFD The aim of this study was to present Bahia characters who have studied at ENEFD, trying to understand the reasons that have prompted their departure to Rio de Janeiro to study Physical Education. Five teachers who have studied at ENEFD with this Institution scholarships were interviewed. The treatment of these sources was based on a content analysis of the interviews understood as socially situated "versions of the past" in relation to deponents. Results revealed: characteristics of the students economic and cultural level; the selection process peculiarities; details of the scholarships granting process; direct participation of Bahia students in school sports and political movements. The Effect of Feed Supplementation and Sward Characteristics on the Ingestive Behaviour of Grazing Ewes

The objective of this study was to assess the effect of protein/energy supplementation and sward physical characteristics on grazing behaviour of lactating ewes grazing Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.). The experiment was carried out in the spring of 1999 at the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. The grazing behaviour was assessed in two periods: 2 and 3 September, and 8 and 9 October of 1999, using a group of twelve yearling ewes. Groups of four ewes were either supplemented (with 1% of the animals live weight) with soybean meal (protein source), with corn (energy source) or not supplemented. The experiment was carried out in a completely randomised block design with four replications. This experiment shows that grazing behaviour is more strongly affected by sward characteristics than by protein or energy supplementation

Angiostrongilíase abdominal: um caso com grave evolução

A case of acute abdomen disease caused by abdominal angiostrongyliasis is reported. A 42-year-old otherwise healthy patient presented with a complaint of nine days of abdominal pain, constipation, disury, fever and right iliac fossa palpable mass. Exploratory laparotomy was performed. After surgical treatment the patient presented serious complications.É relatado um caso de abdome agudo causado por angiostrongilíase abdominal. Um paciente de 42 anos, previamente hígido, apresentou queixa de nove dias de dor abdominal, constipação, disúria, febre e uma massa palpável na fossa ilíaca direita. Uma laparotomia exploradora foi realizada. Após o tratamento cirúrgico o paciente apresentou graves complicações

Difficulties Found by Students in the Disciplines of Post-graduation in Electrical Engineering

In this study, we explore the difficulties of students in the disciplines of post-graduation in electrical engineering. To the extent that the student is able to elucidate his difficulties during the disciplines of the postgraduate course, your research can flow with greater satisfaction and success. Our findings are based on interviews of students with different backgrounds and educational experiences, allowing to capture different difficulties and motivations found in the classroom, which influence the researches of masters and doctoral students. We found that most of the students in the postgraduate course in electrical engineering had background training in distinct areas (73.3%), and that they are generally related area students, such as math, computing, and other areas of engineering. Another aspect is that most interviewees reported that their difficulties were related to the disciplines that addressed the development of algorithms and mathematical calculations (66%), suggesting that this problem was a consequence of insufficient knowledge base for the disciplines. The findings suggest that even with the difficulties encountered in the classroom, the students of the course had no disapproval, because most of the time they sought to discuss their difficulties in groups of studies created by classmates, and thus, elucidating the difficulties faced with colleagues who had different skills

Primeiro curso de Educação Física na Bahia - trajetórias e personagens

Este texto trata da criação do primeiro curso superior em Educação Física na Bahia e objetiva apresentar seus bastidores, para perceber seus movimentos políticos e acadêmicos. Como metodologia, trabalhamos com os aspectos teórico-metodológicos da História cultural, com foco na história oral, entrevistando pessoas envolvidas com a fundação do Curso. Os dados das fontes orais foram compreendidos como "versões do passado", socialmente situados, articulados com o obtido em documentos e na literatura especializada. Como resultados, identificamos: articulação política externa à Universidade e uso de recursos públicos para fundação do curso; preconceitos institucionais com a Educação Física; coesão no processo de criação e influência da Escola Nacional de Educação Física e Desportos

IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL EXPRESSION OF HER2 IN ADENOCARCINOMA OF THE STOMACH

Background Worldwide, gastric cancer is the fourth cancer in incidence and the second most common cause of cancer death. Gastric cancer is asymptomatic in the early stages and very often diagnosed at advanced stages, determining a dismal prognosis. Expression of the HER2 gene has been identified in about 20% of gastric cancer cases, and its hyper-expression is associated with poor prognosis. Objective To investigate HER2 immunohistochemical expression in gastric adenocarcinoma and its relationship to the histological type and anatomic location. Methods A cross-sectional retrospective study analyzed the immunohistochemical expression of HER2 in a sample of 48 specimens of gastric cancer. Immunohistochemical analysis were performed using avidin-biotin-peroxidase method with C-erb B2 (clone EP1045Y), as a primary antibody (Biocare Medical, USA). Standardized gastric adenocarcinoma‘s HER2 expression criteria has been used in the analysis of samples. Results There were seven cases with reactivity for HER2. Five were of intestinal-type while two cases were of mixed-type in which the expression occurred in the intestinal component. It was identified a significant association of HER2 expression in the intestinal subtype of gastric adenocarcinoma (P=0.003). Regarding the anatomical site, HER2 was positive in only one (16.6%) of the six proximal cases and six (14.28%) of the 42 distal cases (P=0.88). Conclusion HER2 immunoexpression was identified in 14.6% of the samples, and the expression was significantly associated to Lauren’s intestinal subtype
