This experiment aims to determine the effect and the best dose of Chaetoceros ceratosporum diatomae utilization in feed formula for post larvae of tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon Fab.) growth and immunity to Vibrio harveyi infection. This research applied Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment use Chaetoceros ceratosporum diatomae in feed formula (iso protein 39.02% and iso energy 3.58 kcal/g diet) in different doses, i.e. treatment A = 0 %; B = 3.04 %; C = 6.0 8%; D = 9.12 %. Observed parameters were Survival Rate, Growth Rate, Food Conversion Ratio (FCR) and Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER). Result showed that Chaetoceros ceratosporum diatomae utilization in feed formula affect the increase of growth and immunity of post larvae of tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon Fab.) to Vibrio harveyi infection. The best dose in feed formula ranged from 5,75% – 5,95%

Urinary leukotriene e4 level profile in various degrees of severity in atopic dermatitis patients in dermatovenereology outpatient clinic Dr. Soetomo General Hospital, Surabaya: A descriptive study

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, relapsing skin inflammatory disease. Corticosteroid as the cornerstone treatment for AD has some flaw, especially for the chronic recalcitrant AD, since it has side effects and high possibility of rebound. Leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA) which has been used for asthma and allergic rhinitis now has been developed for treating AD, based on the similar mechanism of inflammation. Leukotriene (LT) is an inflammatory mediator that is thought to play role in the asthma, allergic rhinitis, and AD. Urinary leukotriene E4 (U-LTE4), the stable metabolite of LT, can be found in urine. This research aims to evaluate the role of LT in various degrees of severity in AD patients by measuring U-LTE4 levels using Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). Twenty two AD patients who were in a flare state and came to the outpatient clinic on April – July 2017 were measured their U-LTE4 levels. The results demonstrated that mean of U-LTE4 levels increases consistently with intensity of the degree of severity, and this finding supports previous study that LT plays role in AD

KAJIAN PERTUMBUHAN Kappaphycus alvarezii HASIL KULTUR JARINGAN PADA PERLAKUAN SUHU YANG BERBEDA

Spotted barb (Puntius binotatus) is one of tropical fish in Indonesia freshwater, which has high economic value. To maintain the stock in nature, information about the reproduction cycle in the mid raining season is required for conservation so that we can control the catch of spotted barb. This study aimed to examine the effect of raining season on GMS, GSI and GI\u27s male and female. Observation methods were used as a tool to collect the data. The result of the research showed that a variety of GMS, GSI and GI\u27s male and female. Quantity of oocyte primer 423; 664; 480; 380; meanwhile that quantity of oosite secondary oocyte 73; 172; 411; 230. Result of water quality measured in the river as temperature 28-30oC, pH 6,8-7 and Dissolved Oxygen (DO) 3-3,4 ppm. The gonad weightgreatly influenced the rate of GMS, GSI, and GI in determining fish reproductionwas interrelated and directly proportional. Increasing of GMSwas affected by the increasing value of GSI and similarly the GI value which is directly proportional with increasing of GSI and GMS. The reproductive cycle of gonadal maturity spotted barb increased during themid rainy season

ABSTRACT This research was conducted in the Experimental Station of Fresh Water Plantation (Stasiun Percobaan Budidaya Air Tawar), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Brawijaya, in Sumber Pasir village, Pakis district, Malang, East Java on January to December 2009. The aim of this research was either to know gonado maturity stage or gonado somatic index on dwarf snakehead (Channa gachua). The method used in the research was descriptive method. Based on the research result, the gonado somatic index (GSI) which was injected on female fish has average value of 5,63% highest on November, while those which weren't injected of female fish has the GSI value of 5,31% highest on November. The relation between length and weight of body dwarf snakehead body fish indicate the type of growth is positive allometric. The water quality during research: temperature 25. 05-25.42 o C, pH 5.37-6.12 and dissolved oxygen (DO) 6.85-7.15. The rain fall and daylight duration in January until December 2009 gane little influence on GSI only influence its breeding process
