COMPUTER VISION

Ovaj rad pripada u područje umjetne inteligencije koje se odnosi na računalni vid. Pojašnjeni su pojmovi kao što su slika, umjetna inteligencija i neuronske mreže. Obrađena je problematika između ljudskog i računalnog vida kao i problemi reprezentacije 3D realnog svijeta u 2D prostoru. Prikazano je korištenje OpenCV biblioteke za rad i manipulaciju nad slikama. Obrađen je i razvojni okvir za rad s neuronskim mrežama Darknet te je opisana instalacija i treniranje modela za klasifikaciju slika. Naposljetku je pokazano treniranje modela za klasifikaciju odjevnih predmeta koristeći Tensorflow i MNSIT skup podataka.This paper covers segment of artificial intelligence considering computer vision. Concepts such as image, artificial intelligence and neural networks were explained. Problems of representing 3D real world in 2D space. Installation and usage of OpenCV library for image manipulation was also covered. There is a part considering Darknet framework for neural networks which was used for image classification and model training. And last there is a Tensorflow section which was used for clothing image classification on MNSIT dataset

Management of scales of cement mill in cement factory Sv.Juraj

U ovom diplomskom radu opisana je tehnologija proizvodnje cementa s naglaskom na ulogu mlina cementa u procesu proizvodnje te upravljanje njegovim radom. Prikazana je cjeloukupna arhitektura upravljačkog sustava za upravljanje vagama mlina te su analizirani najznačajniji elementi sklopovske i programske podrške. Korištenjem software-a Simatic Manager i Step 7 objašnjena je ulogu signala koji se koriste u procesu upravljanja vagama mlina. Objašnjene su osnove tri najbitnija programa za rad tvornice, Step 7, TIA portal i SCADA, te je prikazano upravljanje pomoću njih. Objašnjene su karakteristike najkorištenijeg PLC-a.This thesis describes the technology of cement production with an emphasis on the role of the cement mill in the production process and the management of its work. The overall architecture of the control system for managing the mill scales is presented, and the most important elements of the circuit and program support are analyzed. Using the Simatic Manager and Step 7 software, the role of the signals used in the process of managing the mill scales was explained. The basics of the three most important programs for factory operation, Step 7, TIA portal and SCADA, are explained, and management using them is shown. The characteristics of the most used PLC are explained

For Free or for Fee? Dilemma of Small Scientific Journals

Biomedical publishing is becoming increasingly dominated by multinational companies, advertising research articles at the international market, presenting them electronically through web-based services, and distributing them to readers-consumers. It seems that they will soon become the sole publishers for the majority of biomedical journals. In the past decade, however, we witnessed a quiet revolution in the whole structure of scientific communication, influenced by new technologies and initiatives such as Open Access, PubMedCentral, PLoS, and BioMedCentral. The Croatian Medical Journal (CMJ) has recently been approached by two major publishing companies and offered to become one of the journals in their group. The editorial decision was to join neither of the publishers. We felt that the decision had to be explained to our readers by defining CMJ's position in global scientific and medical journal publishing. Our experience may be similar to that of the many biomedical journals which find themselves in a dilemma whether to join major publishers or not
