The presented study examines authoritative parenting and its associations with an adolescent\u27s success. There is a significant gap in the knowledge in regard to the impact of parental tough love on adolescents. It is important to determine the answer to the problem because it could help fill the significant gap in the knowledge. This research will help determine if an authoritative parenting style is effective in making an adolescent successful. It can help a parent decide how to or not to raise their children. The evidence found in this study can also be used to help inform parents of the positive and negative outcomes of authoritative parenting and whether it is the best parenting style to use. In addition, it could also be used to help expand on future studies including how members of the extended family\u27s parental approach affect an adolescent\u27s success. Findings from the study suggest how successful the theory of parental tough love is. I conducted this study to examine how authoritative parenting or parental tough love impacts adolescents. This study was done within the honors program at Tyler Junior College. I conducted a qualitative survey questionnaire. The survey was sent through email by the head of the honors department. No specific ethnicity, race, age, or gender was used. This study accomplished to determine the relationship between an authoritative parenting style and success related to academic performance, social and emotional outcomes, and performance outcomes in school activities. Based on this research I concluded that parental tough love or an authoritative parenting style nurtures successful adolescents. This study shows that kids raised by authoritative parents are more likely to become independent, self-reliant, socially accepted, academically successful, and well-behaved. They are less likely to report depression and anxiety, and less likely to engage in antisocial behavior. This style also results in kids who have better mental health overall

On the evolution by fractional mean curvature

In this paper we study smooth solutions to a fractional mean curvature flow equation. We establish a comparison principle and consequences such as uniqueness and finite extinction time for compact solutions. We also establish evolutions equations for fractional geometric quantities that yield preservation of certain quantities (such as positive fractional curvature) and smoothness of graphical evolutions.Comment: minor correction

About the isocurvature tension between axion and high scale inflationary models

The present work suggests that the isocurvature tension between axion and high energy inflationary scenarios may be avoided by considering a double field inflationary model involving the hidden Peccei-Quinn Higgs and the Standard Model one. Some terms in the lagrangian we propose explicitly violate the Peccei-Quinn symmetry but, at the present era, their effect is completely negligible. The resulting mechanism allows a large value for the axion constant, of the order fa∼Mpf_a\sim M_p, thus the axion isocurvature fluctuations are suppressed even when the scale of inflation HinfH_{inf} is very high, of the order of Hinf∼MgutH_{inf}\sim M_{gut}. This numerical value is typical in Higgs inflationary models. An analysis about topological defect formation in this scenario is also performed, and it is suggested that, under certain assumptions, their effect is not catastrophic from the cosmological point of view

    Mean curvature flow without singularities

We study graphical mean curvature flow of complete solutions defined on subsets of Euclidean space. We obtain smooth long time existence. The projections of the evolving graphs also solve mean curvature flow. Hence this approach allows to smoothly flow through singularities by studying graphical mean curvature flow with one additional dimension.Comment: 19 pages, 4 figure
