The absorption of European Funds for the Romanian environmental sector
This paper shows the impact of grants on the importance of access to funds to protect the environment and the structural funds absorption environmental sector in Romania. Study research methodology is based on references to achieve the objectives pursued in this article.
APPROACHING DEPRESSION IN FAMILY DOCTOR PRACTICE
Depression is a common condition, especially among people suffering from chronic diseases. Some people
with depression do not realize that they suffer from this condition and therefore do not seek professional help.
The family doctor is the first to come in contact with these patients, and he is the one who monitors their
progress. The attitude of the family doctor to depression can influence both the attitude of the patient to depression and his attitude toward treament
Nitrones: not only extraordinary spin traps, but also good nitric oxide sources in vivo
Free radicals are involved in the development of reperfusion injuries. Using a spin trap, the intensity of such lesions can be reduced. Nitrones (effective in vivo spin traps) were tried in this work as in vivo nitric oxide donors. Nitrite and nitrate concentration values (rabbit blood) were used as biomarkers of nitric oxide production. Most nitrones did not increase plasma concentrations of nitrite and nitrate; on the contrary, reduced plasma concentrations of these indicators were noted. However, glyoxal isopropyldinitrone, in a dose of 50 mg kg–1, was highly effective in increasing nitric oxide production. In the same time, nitrones do not react with hepatic homogenates, proving that the release of nitric oxide takes place in the tissues and is not related to hepatic metabolism. Before using nitrones in vivo, they were tested in vitro for the ability to release nitric oxide following a reaction with the hydroxyl radical
Correlations between arterial hypertension and diabetic retinopathy in patients with type II diabetes
Diabetic retinopathy is a well-known complication of diabetes, a major cause of vision loss worldwide.
Purpose. The present study investigates the correlation between hypertension and evolution of diabetic retinopathy in patients with type II diabetes.
Materials and methods. We conducted a prospective study between June and December 2016, on 24 patients hospitalized in Ophthalmology Clinic, Emergengy University Hospital Bucharest, with AO: diabetic retinopathy and arterial hypertension under medical treatment. Patients were evaluated at baseline, 2 months, 4 months and 6 months through comprehensive eye examination and measuring the value of blood
pressure (BP). Comparative data were analyzed in patients with compensated hypertension (BP = 150 mmHg).
Results. Of the 24 patients, 15 had values offset BP (group A) and 9 associated hypertension subcompensated (group B). In group A proportion of patients (at baseline) with diabetic retinopathy absent or nonproliferative was higher than patients in group B (47% vs. 22%, p = 0.052995019518117). Patients in group B had
a higher tendency to record an evolution of diabetic retinopathy (in group B, 55.55% of patients had a progression, and in group A, only 26.66%).
onclusions. Incomplete therapeutic control of hypertension may affect the retinal microvasculature impacting the progression of diabetic retinopathy. Maintaining a strict control of systolic BP of permanent value below 140 mmHg should be part of the patient management guide of the diabetic patient in order to prevent
ophthalmic complications with major risk of vision loss
CONDYLOMATA ACUMINATA AND CANDIDA VULVOVAGINITIS DURING PREGNANCY – CURRENT FACTS AND THERAPEUTIC POSSIBILITIES
Condylomata acuminata during pregnancy represents genital, perineal and perianal hyperplasia as a result
of infection with human papillomavirus during pregnancy. Candida vulvovaginitis is a symptomatic vaginitis
(inflammation of the vagina and / or vulva) caused by Candida infection, with 10% of women being asymptomatic. These diseases present some particularities and therapeutical problems during pregnancy
Research and Science Today No.1
Research and Science Today Journal is a publication founded in 2011 and it is dedicated to the students of all levels (license, master and doctoral) of faculties in the country and abroad. We want to offer the participants the opportunity to present their scientific works in the following areas: Social Sciences, Economic Sciences, Legal Sciences, Humanities, Education Sciences, Engineering, Medicine and Sport.
This journal provides students the opportunity to create and / or to improve their abilities to write scientific papers. So each appearance (two appearances per year at which we can add supplements) contains a number of papers written by students, masters and doctoral from the faculties from the country or / and abroad. The journal promotes original studies contributing to the progress of knowledge and it is motivated by the need to address issues of theory and practice in the areas mentioned above.
The Journal is a training means of the factors involved in the conceptualization, development, implementation and evaluation , aiming the formation of creative personalities who could be able to adapt through the changing conditions of life.
Journal wants to be a forum for debates disciplinaries and interdisciplinaries theoretical topics, to become a research support, to leverage this work at regional, national and international levels.
We believe that this gathering will enjoy the support from both parts of the researchers and of the practitioners, and will provide appropriate training sources held professional through the current problems
Network analyses in systems biology: new strategies for dealing with biological complexity
The increasing application of network models to interpret biological systems raises a number of important methodological and epistemological questions. What novel insights can network analysis provide in biology? Are network approaches an extension of or in conflict with mechanistic research strategies? When and how can network and mechanistic approaches interact in productive ways? In this paper we address these questions by focusing on how biological networks are represented and analyzed in a diverse class of case studies. Our examples span from the investigation of organizational properties of biological networks using tools from graph theory to the application of dynamical systems theory to understand the behavior of complex biological systems. We show how network approaches support and extend traditional mechanistic strategies but also offer novel strategies for dealing with biological complexity
REMANENT LAKES FORMED THROUGH THE WORK OF KAOLIN EXPLOITING FROM AGHIREŞU (CLUJ COUNTY)
Fairly widespread in Romania, remanent lakes represents a great potential for recovery, provided it is taken into account and on investment, often minimal. Lakes of Aghiresu developed on exploitation of kaolin sands, are very dynamic in time and space. The permanent lakes are very important (the "Blue Lagoon" case), which provides not only an unique landscape but also a mineralised water with a great potential. Measurements and observations made since 2003, including physico-chemical analysis, have allowed detailed study of these lakes. It was possible to develop conclusions, which related to studies of water quality can be the start of projects and investment recovery in an monoindustrial area, strongly affected by the reduction by almost ceasing of mining activity
