Cardiovascular disease and associated factors in adults and elderly registered in a basic health unit
Objective: to identify risk factors for cardiovascular disease in adults and the elderly. Method: field
research, quantitative, participated in 30 users, the Hiperdia program, with physical and emotional
conditions. We used an interview instrument prepared by the researcher. The data from quantitative issues
were treated statistically through percentage. CAAE: 29645414.60000.5176. Results: about having
knowledge of risk factors: salt diet 73 (22), stress (21) 70, alcohol 43 (13), smoking 40 (12), age 40 (12),
cholesterol 40 (12), obesity 33 (10); knowledge of HAS 63 (19) claims to have; 43 (13) are only restrictions
hiposódica, 23 (7) does not make restrictions; 37 (11) do not meet orientation as food and physical activity;
73 (22) does not practice physical activity. Conclusion: stressed the need to intensify prevention strategies

Objetivo: Identificar fatores de risco para doenças cardiovasculares em adultos e idosos. Metódo: Pesquisa de campo, quantitativa, participaram 30 usuários, do programa Hiperdia. Utilizou-se um questionário elaborado pela pesquisadora. Os dados oriundos de questões quantitativas foram tratados estatisticamente por meio de percentual. Resultados: quanto aos participantes terem conhecimentos dos fatores de riscos: dieta Hipersódica 73%(22), estresse 70%(21), álcool 43%(13), tabagismo 40%(12), idade 40%(12), colesterol 40%(12), obesidade 33%(10); conhecimento da HAS 63%(19) diz ter; 43%(13) fazem apenas restrições hiposódica, 23%(7) não fazem restrições; 37%(11) não atendem orientações quanto a alimentação e a atividade física; 73%(22) não pratica atividade física. Moral harassment: a study with nurses of the family health strategy
Objective: Investigating the occurrence of the practice of moral harassment in the workplace of nurses of the Family Health Strategy; ascertaining who are the harassers; identifying the characteristics of aggressors; verifying the consequences of the moral harassment practice for the health of the professional. Method: this is an exploratory research, with quantitative approach, developed at Family Health Units, of the city of João Pessoa, with 30 nurses, with the application of a questionnaire. The data were analyzed by frequency and percentage. Results: from the 30 nurses of the research, ten (33,3%) suffered moral harassment, and in 46,1% of the cases, the aggressors were supporters. Regarding health problems as a consequence of the harassment, stands out the stress (92,3%). Conclusion: The study evidenced that a significantly number of nurses were victims of moral harassment in their workplaces, in a repetitive and systematically way, which causes health problems for the worker
Scientific production about calgary model for evaluation of the family: a bibliometric study
Objective: To characterize the scientific production available in online journals about the Calgary Model of Family Assessment. Method: A bibliometric research with a sample of 52 articles published between 2004 and 2013 in nursing journals in the period 2004-2013, disseminated in LILACS and BDENF Digital Library and SciELO. Data were collected from March to April 2014. Results: The data showed that in 2009 had the highest quantity of articles (15,38%). The journals with the highest number of publications were the Journal of Research: Cuidado é Fundamental Online and Anna Nery School of Nursing Magazine. Most of the articles investigated obtained QUALIS B1 and B2. The database of a larger number of articles was LILACS. Regarding the mode of publications, original studies predominated. Researchers with master degree have produced most articles. Conclusion: The results showed scientific production investigated like a topic of interest and growth in the field of nursing
Palliative care and mourning: the understanding of medical residents
Objective: Investigating the understanding of medical residents about palliative care and mourning. Method: an exploratory study with a qualitative approach, conducted in august 2013 with 18 residents of a university hospital in the city of João Pessoa / Paraiba / Brazil. To enable the collection of data, was used an instrument containing relevant questions to the study objective. The analysis was performed using the Technique of Content Analysis. Results: From the analysis of the empirical material, two categories emerged: "Care that can provide relief of pain and suffering with an emphasis on the quality of life and promotion of dignity" and "Mourning is the feeling of loss on the death of a loved dear". Conclusion: It is considerable that the study demonstrated the understanding of resident physicians about palliative care and mourning, and support further researches on the theme
Adverse events in Intensive Care Units: bibliometric study
Objective: To investigate the scientific productions about the adverse events that occurred in Intensive Care
Units. Methods: Bibliometric study, quantitative approach of documentary base, consisting of 20 articles from
the electronic database Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo) and Specialized Bibliographic database in
the area of nursing (BDENF), and thesis and dissertations database in the period of 2004 to 2014. Results: It
was possible to identify scientific productions about adverse events in ICUs of the last 10 years, highlighting
the predominance of papers published by nursing, especially AEs related to medication errors and nosocomial
infection, intensified by the overload of work. Conclusion: The study presents limitations as to the number
of publications on the subject. Thereby the scarcity of publications regarding the subject in question, makes
updates on the subject
Mental disorders that most affect university teachers: a study in a medical expertise service
Objectives: verifying the types of mental disorders that most affect teachers treated in a service of medical expertise. Method: a retrospective study of documental nature with a quantitative approach developed in a Higher Education Institution of João Pessoa city - PB. The sample was composed of 254 sheets of teachers treated in a service of medical expertise of the institution selected for the study, in the period from January to 1999 to March 2011. Data obtained were analyzed through frequency and percentage. Results: almost all the sample was composed of female teachers, aged between 40 and 49, and depression was responsible for 52% absenteeism of teachers, followed by schizophrenia (12%), bipolar disorder (10%), acute reaction to stress (8%), anxiety (7%), delusional disorder (4%), and others (8%). Conclusion: the mental disorder that most affects the searched teacher category is depression. Therefore, further investigations are needed that can analyze the severity of this problematic pathology in academic area
Fragility and functional status of institutionalized elderly
Objetivo: Averiguar a associação entre a fragilidade nesses idosos e a variável clínica status funcional. Método: Pesquisa de campo, de natureza quantitativa, da qual participaram 22 idosos. Os dados foram coletados por meio da Edmonton Frail Scale (EFS), o Índex de Katz e a escala de Lawton e analisados no SPSS for Windows. A pesquisa foi aprovada pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa sob CAAE n° 0031.0.470.000-11. Resultados: Evidenciou-se grande parte dos idosos possuíam algum tipo de fragilidade (63,7%) e apresentavam boa capacidade funcional para realização das atividades de vida diárias (41,8%). No entanto, 59% apresentavam algum tipo de dependência ou necessidade de auxílio para realização das atividades instrumentais diárias. Conclusão: Há uma necessidade uma assistência qualificada e voltada para melhoria da qualidade de vida e independência dos idosos fragilizados, inclusive nas instituições de longa permanência
Scientific production on the elderly person undergoing palliative care: bibliometric study
Objective: To characterize the scientific production disseminated in online journals on the elderly person undergoing palliative care. Method: This is a bibliometric study composed of 46 papers published in the databases LILACS, MEDLINE and IBECS, and in the digital libraries SciELO and COCHRANE, in the period from 2004 to 2014. Results: A concentration of titles in specialized journals in palliative care has been identified, with origin of Brazil, United States and United Kingdom, in Qualis A1, A2 and B1. The areas of Nursing and Medicine have obtained a greater amount of publications. There was a predominance of authors with the titration of PhD. As for the focus of the disease, 90% of the studies were related to cancer. Conclusion: The publications about the investigated issue have shown a little expressive amount, taking into account the surveyed period. It is suggested to perform new studies using bibliometric research as investigation method, so that other indicators can emerge and stimulate the expansion of knowledge about the theme
