In this paper we study a unique common fixed point theorem. The existence of fixed point for two weakly compatible maps is established under new contractive condition of integral type by using another functions. Keywords: Fixed point, Complete metric space, Weakly Compatible maps

Modelling on vibration of skew plate with thickness and temperature variation

    Get PDF
The present model describes the vibrational analysis of skew (parallelogram) plate made up of non-homogeneous material with variable thickness and temperature on clamped edges. One dimensional thickness and two-dimensional temperature variation is taken into consideration. The non-homogeneity of the plate varies circular in one dimension. The governing differential equation of motion for vibration analysis is solved by using Rayleigh Ritz technique and time period is calculated for the combination of different variation of plate parameters. The obtained results are presented in tabular form

    Get PDF
In this article, generalized C Ψ β - rational contraction is defined and the existence and uniqueness of fixed points for self map in partially ordered metric spaces are discussed. As an application, we apply our result to find existence and uniqueness of solutions of second order differential equations with boundary conditions

A Visual Programming Paradigm for Abstract Deep Learning Model Development

Deep learning is one of the fastest growing technologies in computer science with a plethora of applications. But this unprecedented growth has so far been limited to the consumption of deep learning experts. The primary challenge being a steep learning curve for learning the programming libraries and the lack of intuitive systems enabling non-experts to consume deep learning. Towards this goal, we study the effectiveness of a no-code paradigm for designing deep learning models. Particularly, a visual drag-and-drop interface is found more efficient when compared with the traditional programming and alternative visual programming paradigms. We conduct user studies of different expertise levels to measure the entry level barrier and the developer load across different programming paradigms. We obtain a System Usability Scale (SUS) of 90 and a NASA Task Load index (TLX) score of 21 for the proposed visual programming compared to 68 and 52, respectively, for the traditional programming methods

Carrying Capacity Assessment for Religious Crowd Management - An Application to Sabarimala Mass Gathering Pilgrimage, India

    Get PDF
Crowd Management is always a challenging task when people gather in large numbers. Crowd disasters in India, including recurring incidents at religious venues, demands a crowd management system developed on the characteristics of the place, event, and participants. Assessment of carrying capacity is the prime process to design crowd management protocols and regulations. Carrying capacity assessment of religious gathering venues in India is often an overlooked process. The present study assessed the crowd carrying capacity of Sabarimala pilgrimage, Kerala, India. Physical carrying capacity assessment methods used for tourism venues have been applied and contextualised for crowd carrying capacity assessment. Characteristics of the venue, pilgrimage and pilgrims were studied to map the active crowd area and space utilisation zones. The physical carrying capacity was estimated based on the comfortable crowd density and threshold crowd density assessments. The study identified two factors influencing pilgrim movement within the venue viz. service level at the holy step and capacity of the darshan facility. Service level at the holy step is the prime factor that regulates the flow of the pilgrim within the venue including the pilgrim movement for deity darshan and hence the comfortable capacity of the holy step was distinguished as the effective carrying capacity of the venue. Physical carrying capacity at the comfortable crowd density has to be maintained throughout the event to avoid the triggering of crowd crushes. The crowd carrying capacity assessment (CCCA) method applied in this study is a simple process. Considering the crowd density and crowd regulation factors, the CCCA method can be applied to design crowd management protocols of other religious pilgrimage destinations in India

Abstract: In this paper we establish coincidence fixed point and common fixed point theorem for two self mappings which satisfies a ψ ∫ φ weakly contractive condition of integral type in complete metric space. Our result extended and generalizes the results of many authors existing in the literature

    Sanskrit Sandhi Splitting using seq2(seq)^2

In Sanskrit, small words (morphemes) are combined to form compound words through a process known as Sandhi. Sandhi splitting is the process of splitting a given compound word into its constituent morphemes. Although rules governing word splitting exists in the language, it is highly challenging to identify the location of the splits in a compound word. Though existing Sandhi splitting systems incorporate these pre-defined splitting rules, they have a low accuracy as the same compound word might be broken down in multiple ways to provide syntactically correct splits. In this research, we propose a novel deep learning architecture called Double Decoder RNN (DD-RNN), which (i) predicts the location of the split(s) with 95% accuracy, and (ii) predicts the constituent words (learning the Sandhi splitting rules) with 79.5% accuracy, outperforming the state-of-art by 20%. Additionally, we show the generalization capability of our deep learning model, by showing competitive results in the problem of Chinese word segmentation, as well.Comment: Accepted in EMNLP 201

Effect of linear variation in density and circular variation in Poisson’s ratio on time period of vibration of rectangular plate

    Get PDF
In this paper, a theoretical analysis is carried out to investigate the effect of linear variation in density and circular variation in Poisson’s ratio on time period of frequency modes of rectangular plate with variable thickness under temperature field. The thickness variation is considered to be circular and temperature variation on the plate is assumed to be bi-linear. Rayleigh Ritz method is used to solve the differential equation. All the results (time period for first two modes of vibration) are presented with the help of tables
