Candomblé, corpos e poderes

This paper aimed to understand the social mechanisms founded in candomblé, understood as a religion of African roots in Brazil. By entering this religious system of treatment, subjects will try and confront a number of innovations in their daily lives, broadening their views and perceptions about the causality of the disease, resulting in the consideration of the relationship between “body/mind/orixás (divinity)”, thus opening a new option in terms of therapeutic options for these. Given the complexity of this religion, the group in question – supporters and external customers – reaffirm their solidarity with intra and extra walls, by ensuring the physical and social health of its members, to the extent that precludes antagonistic instances represented by its world view: health/illness, life/death. The balance between these is necessary to assert what becomes indispensable for this: the maintenance of health.O presente artigo teve como objetivo principal apreender os mecanismos sociais encontrados no candomblé – uma das várias formas de expressões religiosas de matriz africana no Brasil. Visibilidades virtuais de uma Associação de Pessoas com Doença Falciforme na Bahia, Brasil : enfrentamentos e empoderamentos pelo Facebook

O presente estudo teve como objetivo apreender as diversas campanhas virtuais relacionadas à doença falciforme desenvolvidas pela Associação de Pessoas com Doença Falciforme de Ilhéus – APEDFI (Bahia/Brasil) – no Facebook, entre os anos de 2012 a 2016. O potencial deste perfil é que permite externar experiências de adoecimentos, de sofrimentos e de solidariedades, rompendo desta maneira uma fronteira : em outros momentos históricos, pareciam ser os meios tradicionais de comunicação o único canal de oferta de temas e conteúdos ao debate público. Com relatos de participantes no perfil da Associação, busca-se eminentemente um empoderamento dos portadores da doença focalizada, estimulando, com palavras e imagens a construção de contextos de interatividades, a disseminação de informações sobre os contextos de tratamentos e as redes de solidariedades à doença.The objective of this study was to understand the various virtual campaigns related to sickle cell disease, developed by the Association of People with Sickle Disease of Ilhéus – APEDFI (Bahia/Brazil) – on Facebook between 2012 and 2016. The potential of this profile is that it allows to express experiences of illness, suffering, and solidarity, thus breaking a boundary : in other historical moments, the traditional means of communication seemed to be the only channel to offer themes and contents to the public debate. With reports from participants in the Association’s profile, they seek the empowerment of the patients with the targeted disease, stimulating, with words and images, the construction of interactivity contexts, the dissemination of information about the contexts of treatments and the networks of solidarity to the disease

Percursos e significados terapêuticos na religião afro-brasileira Candomblé

O presente artigo teve como objetivo principal apreender os usos de recursos terapêuticos por parte de clientes, adeptos ou não, que frequentam o Candomblé, entendido como uma religião de matriz africana no Brasil. Ao adentrar este sistema religioso terapêutico, os sujeitos vão experimentar e confrontar com uma série de inovações na sua vida cotidiana, ampliando suas visões e percepções sobre as causalidades da doença, repercutindo na consideração da relação entre “corpo/mente/orixá (divindade)”, abrindo desta maneira uma nova opção no que tange as opções terapêuticas para estes. Diante da complexidade desta religião, o grupo em questão – adeptos e clientes externos – reafirma sua solidariedade intra- e extra-muros, através da garantia da saúde física e social de seus membros, na medida que opõe instâncias antagônicas representadas por sua visão de mundo: saúde/doença, vida/morte. Empowerment of woman through agroecological fairs in the city of Ilhéus, Bahia/Brazil

O foco principal deste artigo é apreender a importância das mulheres na militância agroecológica, enfatizando as suas atuações e influência nas feiras agroecológicas realizadas na cidade de Ilhéus, Estado da Bahia, Brasil. Apesar desta significativa e crescente atuação, as mulheres agricultoras enfrentam uma série de dificuldades no que respeita ao reconhecimento de seu trabalho de produção de alimentos, dificuldade no acesso à terra e/ou a comercialização direta dos produtos somada às atividades laboriais no espaço doméstico. Registamos uma valorização, por parte dos consumidores, desta modalidade de comercialização de agricultura orgânica, gerando uma maior fidelização com maior confiança pelo fato de ter sido produzida e comercializado por mulheres, denotando valores de qualidade de vida e alimentos saudáveis. Fica clara a importância destas feiras como espaços para geração de emprego e rendimentos, troca de saberes, valorização da cultura do campo e da mulher, e ainda a desconstrução de ideologias, atitudes e mentalidades discriminatórias e preconceituosas que regem, em geral, a estrutura social na Bahia.The main focus of this article is to understand the importance of women in the agroecological militancy, emphasizing, his performances and influence in the agroecological fairs, performed in the city of Ilhéus, Bahia State, Brazil. Despite this significant and increasing actuation, the women agroecological face a number of difficulties in terms of the recognition of their work of food production, difficulty in gaining access to land and/or the direct marketing of products plus labor activities in the domestic space. We recorded an exploitation on the part of consumers to this modality of marketing of organic agriculture on the part of women and generating a greater customer loyalty, with increased reliability due to have been produced and marketed by women, denoting values of quality of life and healthy food. Is clear the importance of these fairs as spaces for the generation of employment and income, exchange of knowledge, culture appreciation of the field and of the woman, deconstruct ideologies, attitudes and mentalities discriminatory and prejudiced governing, in general, the social structure in Bahia

This article is aimed at discussing the prevalent ideology among the members of the School of Medicine of Bahia, how they would address the issue of madness and crime facing the new scientific paradigms of the 19th century and how they would be responsible for the design of the stereotypes on blacks, half breed and followers of Afro-Brazilian religions. We will also look through that which has become the most important scientific publication by that time – The Medical Gazette of Bahia (Gazeta Médica da Bahia) - how the ideals and values of an emerging class were disseminated with a view to maintaining an ideal - the end of the miscegenation. O presente artigo objetiva discutir, através da ideologia vigente entre os integrantes da Escola de Medicina da Bahia, como estes vão tratar a questão da loucura e da criminalidade frente aos novos paradigmas científicos do Século XIX e de como estes vão ser responsáveis pela concepção dos estereótipos que vão incindir sobre negros, mestiços e adeptos das religiões afrobrasileiras.
