La migration du folklore et des fêtes germaniques au Sud du Brésil
Les fĂŞtes germano-brĂ©siliennes de l’État de Santa Catarina renvoient Ă l’histoire des colonies allemandes qui pendant longtemps formèrent des noyaux isolĂ©s, entretenant des liens avec la patrie-mère. Elles fondèrent des Ă©coles, des Ă©glises et des institutions rĂ©crĂ©atives rĂ©Ă©laborant la culture allemande. Or pendant les annĂ©es trente, les valeurs du « Deutschtum » furent rĂ©primĂ©es par le gouvernement brĂ©silien et une mĂ©moire clandestine se constitua, confinĂ©e au silence. Cette mĂ©moire « souterraine » trouva toutefois un moment propice Ă sa rĂ©surrection dans les annĂ©es quatre-vingt, grâce au plan de dĂ©veloppement touristique. Si les fĂŞtes furent fondĂ©es dans un objectif Ă©conomique, elles ont aussi en commun la revalorisation d’une mĂ©moire refoulĂ©e et silencieuse et la cĂ©lĂ©bration d’une partie de la population locale. Elles apparaissent comme les formes d’actualisation les plus rĂ©centes de la culture germano-brĂ©silienne, traduisant en brĂ©silien l’orgueil des descendants d’Allemands.The German festivals of the State of Santa Catarina in Brazil return us in the story o the German colonies which formed for a long time insulated cores, maintaining links with the fatherland. They founded schools, churches and institutions re-working the German culture. During the thirties, the values of “Deutschtum” were repressed by the Brazilian government and an underground/secret memory was formed, confined in silence. However this “subterranean” memory found a moment convenient to its resurrection in the eighties, thanks to the plan of tourist development. If these festivals were founded in an economic objective, they have so in common the revaluation of a repressed and silent memory and the celebration of a part of the local population. They appear as the most recent forms of actualization of the German-Brazilian culture, translating into Brazilian the pride of the German descendants.Las fiestas germano-brasileñas del Estado de Santa Catarina reenvĂan a la historia de las colonias alemanas que durante mucho tiempo formaron nĂşcleos aislados, manteniendo lazos con la madre-patria. Fundaron escuelas, iglesias y instituciones recreativas que reelaboraban la cultura alemana. Durante los años treinta, los valores de «Deutschtum» fueron reprimidos por el gobierno brasileño y una memoria clandestina se constituyĂł, confinada al silencio. Esta memoria «subterránea» encontrĂł no obstante un momento propicio a su resurrecciĂłn en los años ochenta, gracias al plano de desarrollo turĂstico. Si las fiestas fueron fundadas con un objetivo econĂłmico, tienen tambiĂ©n en comĂşn la revalorizaciĂłn de una memoria rechazada y silenciosa y la celebraciĂłn de una parte de la poblaciĂłn local. L’héritage germanique dans le folklore et les fêtes du Sud du Brésil
The German festivals of the State of Santa Catarina in Brazil reveal the cultural inheritance of the German colonies which formed for a long time isolated cores, maintaining links with the fatherland. They founded schools, churches and institutions after the German culture. During the thirties, the values of “Deutschtum” were repressed by the Brazilian government and an underground/secret memory was formed, but confined to silence. Nevertheless, this “subterranean” memory found a moment convenient to its resurrection in the eighties, thanks to the plan of tourist development. Although these festivals had an economic objective, they also intended to release a repressed memory, and to celebrate the recognition of a sector of the local population. They appear as the most recent form of German-Brazilian ethnicity, as they brought pride to German descendants in Brazil
