Prevalence and associated factors of job satisfaction among physicians working in public hospitals in Astana, Kazakhstan

    Get PDF
Physician job satisfaction is an important factor of quality and sustainability of health care provision, as it determines lengths of care and subsequently health care costs. It is also associated with such aspects of healthcare as quality of the care and physician work efficiency There is a general tendency in declining job satisfaction among health care workers in many countries; although there were no studies found in the literature on job satisfaction among physicians in Kazakhstan. The purpose of the study is to estimate the prevalence and to determine factors of working conditions associated with job satisfaction among physicians working in public hospitals in Astana city of Kazakhsta

A Cauchy Integral Related to a Robot-safety Device System

We introduce a robot-safety device system attended by two different repairmen. The twin system is characterized by the natural feature of cold standby and by an admissible “risky” state. In order to analyse the random behaviour of the entire system (robot, safety device, repair facility) we employ a stochastic process endowed with probability measures satisfying general Hokstad-type differential equations. The solution procedure is based on the theory of sectionally holomorphic functions, characterized by a Cauchy-type integral defined as a Cauchy principal value in double sense. An application of the Sokhotski-Plemelj formulae determines the long-run availability of the robot-safety device. Finally, we consider the particular but important case of deterministic repair

Quantization of Sine-Gordon solitons on the circle: semiclassical vs. exact results

We consider the semiclassical quantization of sine-Gordon solitons on the circle with periodic and anti-periodic boundary conditions. The 1-loop quantum corrections to the mass of the solitons are determined using zeta function regularization in the integral representation. We compare the semiclassical results with exact numerical calculations in the literature and find excellent agreement even outside the plain semiclassical regime.Comment: 20 pages, 5 figure

Embedding Learning in Hybrid Quantum-Classical Neural Networks

Quantum embedding learning is an important step in the application of quantum machine learning to classical data. In this paper we propose a quantum few-shot embedding learning paradigm, which learns embeddings useful for training downstream quantum machine learning tasks. Crucially, we identify the circuit bypass problem in hybrid neural networks, where learned classical parameters do not utilize the Hilbert space efficiently. We observe that the few-shot learned embeddings generalize to unseen classes and suffer less from the circuit bypass problem compared with other approaches.Comment: 8 pages, 11 figures, submitted to QCE22 (2022 IEEE International Conference on Quantum Computing & Engineering (QCE)

    On Gaver's parallel system

    Get PDF
Gaver’s parallel system (and its variants) has received considerable attention in the literature. The Laplace-transform (LT) of the survival function, corresponding to the underlying systems, has been derived by various (alternative) methods. Unfortunately, little-to-no attention has been paid to invert the corresponding transform. First, we present a general reliability analysis of Gaver’s basic parallel system (valid for an arbitrary repair time distribution). Then, we formulate some general hints to obtain the numerical inverse. Finally, we propose a tangible methodology to derive the exact inverse in some particular but important cases of non-rotational transforms.

High entropic coatings FeCrNiTiZrAl and their properties

In our proposed empirical model, the anisotropy of the surface energy and the thickness of the surface layer of the high-entropy FeCrNiTiZrAl alloy are calculated. The thickness of the surface layer of this alloy is about 2 nm, which is an order of magnitude greater than the thickness of the surface layer of complex crystals, but is of the same order of magnitude as that of metallic glasses. The hardness and other properties of the high-entropy alloy are the same as for metallic glasses, but are 2-3 times higher than the hardness of stainless steels. The surface energy of the high-entropy FeCrNiTiZrAl alloy is about 2 J/m2, which corresponds to the surface energy of magnesium oxide and other crystals with a high melting point. However, unlike these crystals, the friction coefficients of a high-entropy alloy (~ 0.06) are much lower than that of ordinary steels (~ 0.8). We have theoretically shown that the friction coefficient is proportionally dependent on the surface energy and inversely proportional to the Gibbs energy, which significantly decreases for a high-entropy alloy, leading to low friction. The high hardness and low coefficient of friction of the high-entropy alloy facilitates the deposition of coatings from them on structural metal products, which contributes to their widespread use

The paper presents the results of the development of circuitry of electronic device for the acquisition and transmission of telemetry data. The purpose of this work is to design and develop circuitry of the device for data acquisition using LoRa technology. The integrated end-to-end design environment Altium Designer was used to develop the electronic part of the device. The STM32F407VGT6 series microcontroller was used as the central control unit. A LoRa RAK3172 radio module is provided in the circuit for receiving and transmitting data. Unlike previous series, this module is equipped with a UART interface, which greatly simplifies the process of designing and writing a program for control. In this article the relevance of developing device with the use of LoRa-technology is considered. The theoretical basis of LoRa-modulation is briefly considered. The main section presents the results of the circuit design of the device, in particular, the inclusion diagram of the module and the control microcontroller. The information presented in the paper reflects only that part of the developed device, which is related to LoRa technology. In general, this work is part of a much larger project, which involves the use of GSM, Wi-Fi, RFID technology. Circuit of power supply is designed for 220 volt AC voltage with further transformation to +12V

The article presents the results of a study on the development of the petrochemical industry, which is part of the structure of the fuel and energy complex of Kazakhstan. The development of the petrochemical industry of the country is carried out through the creation of a petrochemical cluster and the construction of plants for the production of petrochemical products (polyethylene, butadiene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate), which are geographically located in the western region of the country, where the main hydrocarbon reserves are concentrated, large oil and gas production enterprises operate, there are necessary infrastructure facilities. Forecast indicators of the development of petrochemistry, technical and economic characteristics of petrochemical projects are given. Information is presented on the development of the petrochemical cluster and the organization of the production of each petrochemical product separately. The authors carried out forecast calculations for import substitution and export in the implementation of petrochemical development projects in Kazakhstan. The purpose of the article is to conduct a predictive analysis of the development of the petrochemical industry in Kazakhstan, since this branch of the national economy is still at the stage of formation

Static solitons with non-zero Hopf number

    Get PDF
We investigate a generalized non-linear O(3) σ\sigma-model in three space dimensions where the fields are maps S3S2S^3 \mapsto S^2. Such maps are classified by a homotopy invariant called the Hopf number which takes integer values. The model exhibits soliton solutions of closed vortex type which have a lower topological bound on their energies. We explicitly compute the fields for topological charge 1 and 2 and discuss their shapes and binding energies. The effect of an additional potential term is considered and an approximation is given for the spectrum of slowly rotating solitons.Comment: 13 pages, RevTeX, 7 Postscript figures, minor changes have been made, a reference has been corrected and a figure replace
