    Production and purification of polyclonal antibody against bovine immunoglobulins in rabbits

    Antibodies are important tools in medical researches which have led to many advances in this field. Anti-bovine immunoglobulins and its conjugate with horse radish peroxidase (HRP) is used to diagnosecows’ disease by ELISA or western blotting tests. In this study, the production, purification and horse radish peroxidase (HRP) conjugation of polyclonal IgG against bovine immunoglobulins in rabbits werecarried out. Three 6-month-old New Zealand White rabbits were immunized by bovine immunoglobulins in combination with Freund’s adjuvant. Purified antibody (using ion-exchange chromatography) waslabeled to HRP. Direct enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to determine the optimum titer and cross reactivity of HRP conjugated IgG. The purity of various IgG preparations wasabout 98%. The optimum dilution of prepared HRP conjugated IgG was 1:12800. This conjugated IgG has no cross reactivity with sheep and goat immunoglobulins at optimized dilution. This study showedthat ion-exchange chromatography could be an appropriate method for purification of IgG antibodies

    Dynamics of Impurity and Valence Bands in GaMnAs within the Dynamical Mean Field Approximation

    We calculate the density-of-states and the spectral function of GaMnAs within the dynamical mean-field approximation. Our model includes the competing effects of the strong spin-orbit coupling on the J=3/2 GaAs hole bands and the exchange interaction between the magnetic ions and the itinerant holes. We study the quasi-particle and impurity bands in the paramagnetic and ferromagnetic phases for different values of impurity-hole coupling at the Mn doping of x=0.05. By analyzing the anisotropic angular distribution of the impurity band carriers at T=0, we conclude that the carrier polarization is optimal when the carriers move along the direction parallel to the average magnetization.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure

    Intelligent 3D crack reconstruction using close range photogrammetry imagery

    Civil infrastructure Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) and its preservation from deterioration is a crucial task. In general, natural disasters like severe earthquakes, extreme landslides, subsidence or intensive floods directly influence the health of civil structures such as buildings, bridges, roads, and dams. Evaluation and inspection of defects and damages of the aforementioned structures help to preserve them from destruction by accelerating rehabilitation and reconstruction. An automatic and precise crack detection framework is required for periodic assessment and inspection due to the large number of the structures. In this study, a two-step crack segmentation and its 3D reconstruction procedure is proposed. The crack segmentation is carried out by using Deeplabv3+ architecture and Xception as the backbone. Next, Squeeze-and-Excitation is added as an attention module to achieve higher accuracy. Integration of predicted masks and original images into a structure-from-motion procedure is additionally taken into account. In the last step, ground control points and scale bars are considered to overcome the problem of datum rank deficiency in absolute orientation through the bundle adjustment procedure in aerial triangulation. The most probable segmented cracks are overlaid on the 3D point clouds in the global coordinate system with true scales. Our network is trained based on 8000 images and their corresponding masks, leading to 69% in Intersection over Union (IoU) index.     A molecular insight in sport and athletic alpha – actin3 gene in students of Physical Education Faculty and bodybuilders.

    Alpha – actin3 is gene for athletic performance and sport. Three types of genotypes were identified within the gene: RR homozygous, RX heterozygous, and XX which lacks expression of these fibers. All three genotypes were identified among participants. Distribution of these genotypes was significant them, and it is noticeable that XX genotype was less in numbers than the other genotypes. BMI and BFP were in acceptable limits in athletes, but it was found to increase in control group with age. Two males and one female exhibited odd reading regarding muscle mass and testosterone level which was significantly higher than the others. Genetic analysis of these athletes showed SNPs that altered ORFs reading site, and production of different protein from the gene which affected muscle mass dramatically toward higher density, and triggered higher testosterone level in the body as an exceled response to intensive training. The three of them were found to be of XX genotype. Among athletic participants, physical fitness was high especially with young athletes. Most sprinters were found to be RR and RX genotype, while endurance athletes were of XX genotype. Significant SNPs at actin3 gene determined exceled athletes who were found to comprise less than 1%

    Exploiting unknown dynamics in communications amongst coexisting wireless body area networks

    © 2015 IEEE. In this paper, we propose a prediction algorithm for dynamic channel allocation amongst coexisting Wireless body area networks (WBANs). Variations in channel assignment due to mobility scenarios within each WBAN as well as the movement of WBANs towards each other is investigated. The proposed scheme is further optimized to allocate the optimum transmission time with synchronous and parallel transmissions such that interference is fully avoided. This reduces the number of interfering nodes and leads to better usage of the scarce limitation of resources in these networks, larger network lifetime, higher energy savings and higher throughput. In fact, the aim of this protocol is to mitigate interference along with maintaining minimum power consumption in order to maximize network lifetime and increase the spatial reuse and throughput of each WBAN. Simulation results show that our approach achieves a much higher spatial reuse using the smart spectrum allocation scheme for interference mitigation in collocated WBANs. We conduct extensive simulations for coexistence prediction in different mobility scenarios using the NS-2 simulator. Consequently, we demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed protocol in providing interference-free channel assignments and higher energy savings

    Content Analysis of Articles Published in Iranian Scientific Nursing Journals From 2009 Through 2011

    Background: Little is known about the features of Iranian nursing journals, specifically the subject areas used in articles, study designs, sampling methods, international collaboration of Iranian nursing scholars, specialty and academic rank of authors, and the most frequently contributing academic institutions in articles. Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyze the content of the articles published in Iranian scientific nursing journals. Materials and Methods: Quantitative content analysis was implemented to study Iranian nursing journals, which were approved by the commission for accreditation and improvement of Iranian medical journals in 2011. Thus, 763 articles from six journals, published from 2009 through 2011, were investigated. Data were extracted from the abstracts and when necessary, from the full-text of articles by visiting the websites of these journals. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data. Results: The main subjects of published articles in Iranian scientific nursing journals were consecutively renal dialysis (n = 21), intensive care unit (n = 16), nursing education (n = 15), patient satisfaction (n = 13), quality of life (n = 12), health education (n = 11), patient education (n = 11), pain (n = 10), and education (n = 9). The majority of authors had nursing and midwifery specialty (52.59%) followed by epidemiology/biostatistics specialty (7.72%). Isfahan, Tehran, Shahid Beheshti, Iran, Baqiyatallah, and Urmia universities of medical sciences had consecutively the largest number of publications in the studied journals. Only three papers (0.39%) were published by the international collaboration. Conclusions: Iranian nursing journals should publish special issues in the neglected subject areas. These journals should encourage authors to publish research evidence with higher quality

    Methodology framework for prioritisation of renewable energy sources in port areas

    Ports play a crucial role in increasing the decarbonisation of urban environments to mitigate the environmental impacts of maritime transport and promote sustainable intermodal mobility. Various efforts have been made to increase energy self-sufficiency using renewable energy sources (RESs) in different ports worldwide. However, the ports played an essential role in the pollution process of the nearest cities due to the short distance and merging with urban areas. In this case, solar and wind were measured using the Modern-Era Retrospective analysis for Research and Applications, Version 2 (MERRA-2) data of four Lazio province ports. Each RES was evaluated using 10 years of monthly data for mapping and 1 year of hourly data for potential assessment and energy converters installation. Furthermore, the time series method has been considered to design and develop better management of RESs for decision making monitoring the energy needs of ports.
