Designing an appropriate adaptive controller for synchronizing a bi-oscillator heart model with time delay

In this paper, synchronization of heart follower oscillator which has lower frequency AV with heart leader oscillator which has dominant frequency SA will be studied. It can be seen if two nodes SA and AV are not synchronized, different types of cardiac blocking arrhythmias occur. Thus, in this paper, beside putting voltage to node SA, by applying time delay in bi-oscillator model of heart system and designing appropriate controller via linear and adaptive methods, we try to prevent blocking arrhythmias of heart. Finally, we apply Lyapanuv stability theorem for ensuring convergence

Background: Psychologists consider the acceptance of spirituality as a cultural reality and by acknowledging the positive effects of spirituality on mental health, the World Health Organization also considers the spiritual dimension as the physical, social and emotional dimensions of human existence. Spirituality is a genuine and inner experience that It lies in the nature of every human being. The purpose of this study was to investigate the spiritual experiences of students of Iran University of Medical Sciences in 2020. Methods: The present study was descriptive-analytical. The sample size of 500 students of Iran University of Medical Sciences in 2020 was estimated. For sampling, a list of students was prepared from the faculty education and the sample was selected by regular random sampling method through random number generation software. The data collection tool was a questionnaire with demographic questions and spiritual experiences. The collected data were analyzed after completion with SPSS 20 software. A significance level of 0.05 was considered. Results: The mean score of the meaning-finding component in life was obtained at 57.98. There was a significant relationship between spiritual experiences and gender, age and educational level of students, while no significant relationship was found between spiritual experiences and marital status and residence. Conclusion: In order to ensure the spiritual health of students, it is necessary to plan properly to create a meaningful atmosphere in universities for different age and gender groups

Introduction: Scientific Production is one of the frequently used measures of research performance of a country, a region or a university. In the present study, the number of approved research projects, congress proceedings, journal articles and books published by the researchers of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in 2006 were identified and then compared with those of 2005. Methods: We performed the present cross-sectional study by searching medical databases and assessing the related documents produced in the year 2006. Then the results were compared with the same scientific production in 2005. Results: The findings showed 100% increase in published indexed and non-indexed journal articles, a growth of 99% in approved research projects and 94% in congress proceedings in 2006 compared with those in 2005. Conclusion: The study indicated a significant growth in research performance of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences through 2006

In Iran, the number of published articles has increased significantly in the basic and applied sciences including medicine and its subspecialties during the recent years. The present study reviewed Iranian science production in medicine, focusing on Iranian medical journals and assessing the current status of Iranian medical journals in several information databases. The study revealed that only a few number of Iranian biomedical journals were indexed by Web of Science, Medline, Scopus and Biological abstract, but most of them have been covered by Index Copernicus and Index Medicus for Eastern Mediterranean Region. Observing some important factors such as journal's basic publishing standards may increase the number of Iranian medical journals indexed by reputable information databases and improve Iranian contribution to the world science

Introduction: Happiness is the most fundamental concept in positive-oriented psychology. Students are influential and generating forces that need happy environment and mood. This Study aimed to determine factors affecting happiness of students who live in dormitories of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences Methods: This Study was conducted on 120 male and female students living in dormitories using an open questionnaire. Data were coded and categorized and reported as frequency and percentage. Results: Results showed that the most important factors affecting students' happiness before entering the university, were sports (26/4%), television (13/05%), and walking (11/86%). the most recreation programs after entering university were sports (22/9 %), television and video room (12/84 %), computer and internet (8/33 %). Students suggested some programs to improve conditions and increase the happiness. They were providing some inside and outside camps (15/21%), improving beautify of campus (12/64%) and providing recreational facilities and sports competitions (10/5 %). Conclusion: The findings of this research aimed improving students' happiness can be considered by officials and policy makers of dormitories. This aim will be achieved through expansion of existing facilities and purposeful long-term plannin

In every part of the Zagros forests, some trees and shrubs were established, such as Quercus brantii , Pistacia sp. Acer cineracencs, Celtis australis , Platanus orientalis, Fraxinus sp, Ceracus mehleb, etc. With different composition Bazoft – Tangehooti, because of special site condition , presents a uniqu stand of elm(ulmus boissieri). This research was carried out to recognize the site demands of (Ulmus boissieri) statistical studies for qualitative and quantitative factor were conducted for each of plants completely. The systematic statistic network (40*40 meter)was used tomeasure trees growth and study of herbs and shrubbasead on 100 m plots. For investigation of regeneration condition , microplots (10m) were used in main plots. This stands was weak and seniority, so phyllophagous and stemborer pest were exited in the site severely. Investigation of trees growth showed that minium, maximum and average of diameter increment were1.5, 3.4 and 2.1 mm in year respectively.Volum increment of the stand  was 1.45 sylve per hectar.Dominant height of elmtrees was determined 1.54 m. Diameter distribution showed that this stand is more or less even age. Number of seedling for Ulmus boissieri and other trees species were estimated 7500 and 560 per hectar respectively. The suitable statistical model for relation between diameter and height of elm trees is calculated as: H=0.514

WHAT IS KNOWN AND OBJECTIVE: Although antibiotics are ineffective against viral infections, epidemiological studies have revealed that the COVID‐19 pandemic resulted in the overuse of antibiotics and disruption of antimicrobial stewardship programmes. We investigated the pattern of antibiotic use during the first 6 months of the COVID‐19 pandemic in Iran. METHODS: A multi‐centre retrospective study was designed to investigate the use of 16 broad‐spectrum antibiotics in 12 medical centres. The rate of antibiotic use was calculated and reported based on the Defined Daily Dose (DDD) per 100 hospital bed‐days. The bacterial co‐infection rate was also reported. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Totally, 43,791 hospitalized COVID‐19 patients were recruited in this study. It was found that 121.6 DDD of antibiotics were used per 100 hospital bed‐days, which estimated that each patient received approximately 1.21 DDDs of antibiotics every day. However, the bacterial co‐infections were detected only in 14.4% of the cases. A direct correlation was observed between the rate of antibiotic use and mortality (r[142] = 0.237, p = 0.004). The rate of antibiotic consumption was not significantly different between the ICU and non‐ICU settings (p = 0.15). WHAT IS NEW AND CONCLUSION: In this study, widespread antibiotic use was detected in the absence of the confirmed bacterial coinfection in COVID‐19 patients. This over‐consumption of broad‐spectrum antibiotics may be associated with increased mortality in hospitalized COVID‐19 patients, which can be an alarming finding
