Conservation of marine fish genetic resources-present status and action needed

    Get PDF
Overfishing, unscientific commercial exploitation, and destruction of habitats caused by nature and alao Induced by man have been, of late, causing serious threat to the marine fish germplasm resources. Judicious exploitation, protection for Improvement and conservation are, thus, required for keeping the natural resources truely renewable- Conservation approaches are in situ, ex situ, entire biomass or flexible mix with the responsibilities required to be equally shared by the professional personnel, policy makers and the people themselves Top priority may be given for conservation of endangered species for maintaining genetic variability to maximize probability of their long term survival

Probing the SUSY breaking scale at an eee^-e^- collider

    Get PDF
If supersymmetry is spontaneously at a low energy scale then the resulting gravitino would be very light. The interaction strength of the longitudinal components of such a light gravitino to electron-selectron pair then becomes comparable to that of electroweak interactions. Such a light gravitino could modify the cross-section for e^_L e^_R-->\tilde {e}_L\tilde {e}_R from its MSSM value. Precision measurement of this cross-section could therefore be used to probe the low energy SUSY breaking scale.Comment: Plain Tex, 7 pages, No figure

Unitarity constraints on the stabilized Randall-Sundrum scenario

    Get PDF
Recently proposed stabilization mechanism of the Randall-Sundrum metric gives rise to a scalar radion, which couples universally to matter with a weak interaction (1\simeq 1 TeV) scale. Demanding that gauge boson scattering as described by the effective low enerrgy theory be unitary upto a given scale leads to significant constraints on the mass of such a radion.Comment: 10 page Latex 2e file including 4 postscript figures. Leptoquark Contribution to the Higgs Boson Production at the LHC Collider

    Get PDF
In this report we study how a light-scalar leptoquark could affect the Higgs boson production cross-section at the LHC collider. We construct the most general renormalizable and gauge invariant effective Lagrangian involving the standard model particles and a scalar, isoscalar leptoquark, \eta. The total cross-section for pp -> H+X is then calculated for different values of the unknown parameters \lambda_eta, m_eta and m_H.(Here \lambda_eta is the coupling associated with the Higgs-leptoquark interaction.) We find that if \lambda_eta is moderately large and m_eta is around a few hundred GeV, then the cross-section is significantly larger than the standard model value.Comment: 9 pages, 4 postscript figure

Chiral Symmetry Breaking in Quenched Massive Strong-Coupling QED4_4

    Get PDF
We present results from a study of subtractive renormalization of the fermion propagator Dyson-Schwinger equation (DSE) in massive strong-coupling quenched QED4_4. Results are compared for three different fermion-photon proper vertex {\it Ans\"{a}tze\/}: bare γμ\gamma^\mu, minimal Ball-Chiu, and Curtis-Pennington. The procedure is straightforward to implement and numerically stable. This is the first study in which this technique is used and it should prove useful in future DSE studies, whenever renormalization is required in numerical work.Comment: REVTEX 3.0, 15 pages plus 7 uuencoded PostScript figure

Development of Fish Hydrolysate (Bind-Add+) incorporated extruded pellets and its performance in Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) feeding trial

Fish hydrolysate (FH) based Bind-Add+ is a emulsion type feed binder cum additive which contains un-denatured proteins and calcium is capable of reasonable level of gelatinization and contribute to the binding properties which is seen from water absorptive capacity, buoyancy, bulk density and water stability characteristics during extrusion pellet production.. Bind-Add+ has good amount of bio-available primary nutrients, secondary nutrients, micro nutrients, anti-oxidants and pro-biotic in a soluble liquid form and most suitable as additive or feed supplement. Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) feeding trial indicate that growth rate and feed utilization efficiency in Bind-Add+ incorporated diets increases significantly in comparison to controlled diet

Gauged Yukawa Matrix Models and 2-Dimensional Lattice Theories

    Get PDF
We argue that chiral symmetry breaking in three dimensional QCD can be identified with N\'eel order in 2-dimensional quantum antiferromagnets. When operators which drive the chiral transition are added to these theories, we postulate that the resulting quantum critical behavior is in the universality class of gauged Yukawa matrix models. As a consequence, the chiral transition is typically of first order, although for a limited class of parameters it can be second order with computable critical exponents.Comment: LaTeX, 11 page

    Minimal Flavour Violation for Leptoquarks

    Get PDF
Scalar leptoquarks, with baryon and lepton number conserving interactions, could have TeV scale masses, and be produced at colliders or contribute to a wide variety of rare decays. In pursuit of some insight as to the most sensitive search channels, We assume that the leptoquark-lepton-quark coupling can be constructed from the known mass matrices. We estimate the rates for selected rare processes in three cases: leptoquarks carrying lepton and quark flavour, leptoquarks with quark flavour only, and unflavoured leptoquarks. We find that leptoquark decay to top quarks is an interesting search channel.Comment: 17 pages, 2 figures, minor changes and references adde

Electric charge quantization and the muon anomalous magnetic moment

    Get PDF
We investigate some proposals to solve the electric charge quantization puzzle, which simultaneously explain the recent measured deviation on the muon anomalous magnetic moment. For this we assess extensions of the Electro-Weak Standard Model spanning modifications on the scalar sector only. It is interesting to verify that one can have modest extensions which easily account for the solution for both problems.Comment: 20 pages, 1 figures, needs macro axodraw.st
