The smartphone technology acceptance among Malaysian young adults

Smartphone technology can be characterized as multi-function device that helps people to manage their task. This study is being emphasized because there is no legitimate answer in Malaysian context whether perceived usefulness had contributed an impact on smartphone technology acceptance. Therefore, there is a need to explore how perceived usefulness affect smartphone technology acceptance among Malaysian young adults. This study was conducted using (TAM) model to capture detailed view about perceived usefulness and the relationship with smartphone technology acceptance among Malaysian young adults. The findings of this study confirmed that perceived usefulness drives the smartphone technology acceptance among Malaysian young adults and it cannot be denied that the advanced features of smartphone technology had influenced Malaysian young adults to possess smartphone technology and make use of it for their personal tasks

Associations between integrator, grower involvement and business performance: Emphasis on validity & reliability

The aim of this study is to explain an investigation over the potential relationships between integrator and grower involvement towards business performance in broiler production. The potential role of employees’ skill levels as moderating variable between the aforementioned independent and the dependant variables are discussed.Broiler supply chain practices and its corresponding performance indicators in the form of broiler farming operations are among the important measures in the dependant variable (business performance).Based on the extensive survey of relevant literatures, a research framework is then proposed.The content validity has been done by getting opinion from the experts, namely veterinary officers.Besides that the construct reliability is determined through value from Cronbach’s Alpha.The data obtained was satisfactory for content validity and construct validity also fit the model as proposed previously

A Lean Management Approach of Rice Subsidy Distribution: Some Findings from a Study in Selangor

Purpose: The objective of this study is to look at the problems that arise related to the distribution of subsidies provided by the Government and also to examine the extent to which the principles in Lean are applied and Lean approach can be applied in the management of subsidy distribution among farmers.   Theoretical Framework: The Malaysian government faces issues and challenges on food insufficiency and the importance of ensuring food security in the country and paddy is a major food commodity in Malaysia and an important factor in terms of security, poverty reduction and social issues. As the number of COVID-19 cases increases in the country, there is a heated debate on the appropriate measures that should be taken by the Government to curb the surge of paddy issue.   Methodology: For that purpose, a survey was conducted on 10 senior government officials who manage matters related to fertilizer subsidies in the Ministry, Farmers Organization Board, Area Farmers Organization, Department of Agriculture and Subsidy Product Suppliers and 20 farmers in the area studied. by using Lean Management as the main point in this study.   Findings: The collected data were analyzed using ATLAS.ti and Microsoft Excel. The results of this study show that most of the officers interviewed do not really understand the Lean philosophy and many officers consider the 5S to be Lean.   Research Implications: An understanding of Lean is critical because the Lean approach is a sustainable way to achieve operational excellence and can be applied in many areas.   Originality/Value: This study analyzed the issue arised during the during the distribution of rise subsidies throguh lean management

Sustaining cost performance through TPM approach: A study of manufacturing organizations in Malaysia

Manufacturing companies need to respond quickly to ensure smooth daily operations and manage adjustments to uncertainties in the market place. In manufacturing companies the pressure to ensure equipment operates without breakdowns, stoppages, failures and so forth has become a major concern for maintenance staff (Carannante, Haigh & Morris,1996). The failure of equipments or machines to produce products on time as required can reflect the inefficiency in operations thus, failure to deliver quality products to the customers on time. Total productive maintenance (TPM) put more importance on total employee involvement in the maintenance activities. This paper discusses the findings of a study on TPM practices among Malaysian manufacturing companies. More than 1000 questionnaires were sent out to investigate the extent of TPM practices in Malaysian manufacturing companies and to study the relationship of TPM practices and performance. An analysis was carried out and the results show there are no differences between the TPM practices and size of companies. No differences also found in the TPM practices and certified quality management system companies. There were significant relationships between TPM practices and cost performance

Mediating impact of manufacturing technology, lean and strategic flexibility on manufacturing performance

In respect of Malaysian lean manufacturer; there has been insufficient research on what are the winning formulate to overcome the mounting challenges from the business environment. In this study, three identified strategies i.e lean, manufacturing technology and strategic flexibility, that could positively improve manufacturing performances, are investigated in depth. The research approach used was quantitative with data analyzed using SmartPLS.Results from this study also emphasize several interesting quasi - paradoxical relationships which implied that Malaysian lean manufacturers prefer a cautious approach towards manufacturing technology implementation, preferring to incorporate technology in a more stable business environment and view strategic flexibility as unfavorable toward performance improvement.In conclusion, this study manages to produce a strong predictive strategy-performance model, which explains the mediation impact of manufacturing strategies on external environmental factors and manufacturing performance
