Post seismic intervention strategies over the last fifty years in Italy (1968 – 2016). Initial observations about the vernacular architecture’s conservation

[EN] The numerous reconstruction experiences after the great earthquakes occurred in Italy during the last fifty years (Sicily, 1968 – central Italy, 2016) have given way to a great improvement of the Italian post-seismic emergency management and differ from each other by their results in terms of degree of conservation of the pre-existent buildings. Through the summary analysis of the legislation adopted for the reconstruction process after the Belice (1968) and Friuli (1976) earthquakes, this contribution aims at investigating the peculiarities of the different intervention strategies adopted for the conservation of the traditional masonry buildings and the historical built landscape – to which they belong – recognised as the essential component of the Italian cultural heritage. Specifically, the 1968 and 1976 earthquakes provided an opportunity to enhance the cultural debate on the approach to the towns destroyed by seismic events and initiated an ongoing process which progressively moved towards an increasing recognition of the vernacular architecture’s value.Macca, V. Semi-Implicit-type order-adaptive CAT2 schemes for systems of balance laws with relaxed source term

In this paper we present two semi-implicit-type second order Compact Approximate Taylor (CAT2) numerical schemes and blend them with a local a posteriori Multi-dimensional Optimal Order Detection (MOOD) paradigm to solve hyperbolic systems of balance laws with relaxed source term. The resulting scheme presents high accuracy when applied to smooth solutions, essentially non-oscillatory behavior for irregular ones, and offers a nearly fail-safe property in terms of ensuring positivity. The numerical results obtained from a variety of test cases, including smooth and non-smooth well-prepared and unprepared initial condition, assessing the appropriate behavior of the semi-implicit-type second order CATMOOD schemes. These results have been compared in accuracy and efficiency with a second order semi-implicit Runge-Kutta (RK) method

..... Indonesia is one of the developing countries whose level of economic development is so rapid. One of the centers of economic development is certainly Jakarta as the capital of the Republic of Indonesia. Almost all foreign companies choose to open their headquarters in Jakarta. The area of the region which is included as the center of business and economy is the Sudirman, Thamrin and TB Simatupang area. The rapid growth of office space in the TB Simatupang corridor, South Jakarta, stimulates similar growth in Pondok Indah (South Jakarta), Bintaro (South Tangerang), and also Serpong (South Tangerang). The demand for new office spaces is starting to grow more, as the rental price of office space in the Simatupang corridor increased. Currently rental offices price in primary business area is higher compared with the secondary business area. This economic development also has an impact on the level of energy consumption, Indonesia is still included in 23 countries with the highest levels of energy consumption in the world. The American Council for the Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) of the United States (US) which issued the list ranked Indonesia in 18th out of 23 countries. According to Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), electricity consumption in Japan in 2009 the average electricity usage is lower compared with Indonesia. This Final Project takes two contextual phenomena that are happening in Indonesia at this time, namely from the aspect of economic development that is so rapid in the South Tangerang area and the efficiency of electricity use which is still very low in Indonesia, then proposes a conceptual solution with a biomimetic approach to solve the issue

Consumer engagement through corporate social responsibility communication on social media: Evidence from Facebook and Instagram Bank Accounts

This paper investigates the impact of corporate social responsibility (CSR) communication through social media on consumer engagement, focusing on the top 15 European banks’ social media accounts. Drawing on stakeholder theory and customer engagement perspective, this study analyzes banks’ content posted on Facebook and Instagram from January 2021 to December 2022. The research employs multiple regression analysis to assess the relationship between CSR dimensions and consumer engagement. Results reveal that two CSR dimensions (employee support and diversity) positively arouse more engagement than non-CSR-related content. Oppositely, other CSR dimensions (environment, community support, product) provide negative or non-statistically significant results compared to non-CSR-related content. This empirical study, utilizing official data from Facebook and Instagram, contributes valuable insights into consumer engagement with CSR-related posts in the banking sector, addressing both scholarly and practical needs for understanding consumer social media engagement dynamics
