The NPFIT strategy for information security of care record service
The National Programme for IT in England doesn’t have a one-document strategy for its information security of the Care Records Service, which is the national EHR system. This paper provides a comprehensive understanding of the information security strategy of England’s EHR system by presenting its different information security issues such as consent mechanisms, access control, sharing level, and related legal and regulations documents
Coupled-cluster calculations for the ground- and excited-states of the spin-half XXZ model
The coupled-cluster method is applied to the spin-1/2 antiferromagnetic XXZ
model on a square lattice by employing an approximation which contains two-body
long-range correlations and high-order four-body local correlations.
Improvement is found for the ground-state energy, sublattice magnetization, and
the critical anisotropy when comparing with the approximation including the
two-body correlations alone. We also obtain the full excitation spectrum which
is in good agreement with the quantum Monte Carlo results and the high-order
spin-wave theory.Comment: 20 pages, 6 figure
Photonic Anomalous Quantum Hall Effect
We experimentally realize a photonic analogue of the anomalous quantum Hall
insulator using a two-dimensional (2D) array of coupled ring resonators.
Similar to the Haldane model, our 2D array is translation invariant, has zero
net gauge flux threading the lattice, and exploits next-nearest neighbor
couplings to achieve a topologically non-trivial bandgap. Using direct imaging
and on-chip transmission measurements, we show that the bandgap hosts
topologically robust edge states. We demonstrate a topological phase transition
to a conventional insulator by frequency detuning the ring resonators and
thereby breaking the inversion symmetry of the lattice. Furthermore, the
clockwise or the counter-clockwise circulation of photons in the ring
resonators constitutes a pseudospin degree of freedom. We show that the two
pseudospins acquire opposite hopping phases and their respective edge states
propagate in opposite directions. These results are promising for the
development of robust reconfigurable integrated nanophotonic devices for
applications in classical and quantum information processing
Chemical and biological investigations of Delonix regia (Bojer ex Hook.) Raf.
U radu je opisana izolacija pet sastojaka petroleterske i diklormetanske frakcije metanolnog ekstrakta kore biljke Delonix regia: lupeol (1), epilupeol (2), β-sitosterol (3), stigmasterol (4) i p-metoksibenzaldehid (5). In this study five compounds, lupeol (1), epilupeol (2), β-sitosterol (3), stigmasterol (4) and p-methoxybenzaldehyde (5) were isolated from the petroleum ether and dichloromethane fractions of a methanolic extract of the stem bark of Delonix regia. Antimicrobial screening of the different extracts (15 μg mm2) was conducted by disc diffusion method. The zones of inhibition demonstrated by the petroleum ether, carbon tetrachloride and dichloromethane fractions ranged from 914 mm, 1113 mm and 920 mm, respectively, compared to kanamycin standard with the zone of inhibition of 2025 mm. In brine shrimp lethality bioassay, the carbon tetrachloride soluble materials demonstrated the highest toxicity with LC50 of 0.83 μg mL1, while petroleum ether and dichloromethane soluble partitionates of the methanolic extract revealed LC50 of 14.94 and 3.29 μg mL1, respectively, in comparison with standard vincristine sulphate with LC50 of 0.812 μg mL1. This is the first report on compounds separation from D. regia, their antimicrobial activity and cytotoxicity
Dairy Market Participation with Endogenous Livestock Ownership: Evidence from Cote d'Ivoire
This study evaluates determinants of dairy market participation by agricultural households in Cote dIvoire by using the Heckman selection model to correct for endogenous cattle ownership. A key result is that ignoring the population of non-owners biases estimates of market participation parameters. These findings are important in light of the widespread application of livestock market participation analyses that assume cattle ownership is exogeneous.Cote dIvoire, dairy, endogenous adoption, Heckman selection model, market participation, Livestock Production/Industries,
A Case of Reactive Cervical Lymphadenopathy with Fat Necrosis Impinging on Adjacent Vascular Structures.
A tender neck mass in adults can be a diagnostic challenge due to a wide differential diagnosis, which ranges from reactive lymphadenopathy to malignancy. In this report, we describe a case of a young female with an unusually large and tender reactive lymph node with fat necrosis. The diagnostic imaging findings alone mimicked that of scrofula and malignancy, which prompted a complete workup. Additionally, the enlarged lymph node was compressing the internal jugular vein in the setting of oral contraceptive use by the patient, raising concern for Lemierre's syndrome or internal jugular vein thrombosis. This report shows how, in the appropriate clinical context, and especially with the involvement of adjacent respiratory or neurovascular structures, aggressive diagnostic testing can be indicated
