Reversible Logic Synthesis of Fault Tolerant Carry Skip BCD Adder

Reversible logic is emerging as an important research area having its application in diverse fields such as low power CMOS design, digital signal processing, cryptography, quantum computing and optical information processing. This paper presents a new 4*4 parity preserving reversible logic gate, IG. The proposed parity preserving reversible gate can be used to synthesize any arbitrary Boolean function. It allows any fault that affects no more than a single signal readily detectable at the circuit's primary outputs. It is shown that a fault tolerant reversible full adder circuit can be realized using only two IGs. The proposed fault tolerant full adder (FTFA) is used to design other arithmetic logic circuits for which it is used as the fundamental building block. It has also been demonstrated that the proposed design offers less hardware complexity and is efficient in terms of gate count, garbage outputs and constant inputs than the existing counterparts.Comment: 9 pages, 7 figures, 5 table

Improving software process to achieve high quality in a software development organization is the key factor to success. Bangladeshi software firms have not experienced much in this particular area in comparison to other countries. The ISO 9001 and CMM standard has become a basic part of software development. The main objectives of our study are: 1) To understand the software development process uses by the software developer firms in Bangladesh 2) To identify the development practices based on established quality standard and 3) To establish a standardized and coherent process for the development of software for a specific project. It is revealed from this research that software industries of Bangladesh are lacking in target set for software process and improvement, involvement of quality control activities, and standardize business expertise practice. This paper investigates the Bangladeshi software industry in the light of the above challenges.Comment: 13 pages, 3 figures, 11 table

In this consumerist world, the necessity of teaching ethics, values, and humanity seems to secure a marginal space in any curriculum emphasizing only on content teaching of the subjects associated to shape the graduates as sellable candidates in the job market. Since the ultimate vision of teaching and learning is expected to reshape or build ideal human beings with moral, ethical, and humane qualities, the teaching of ethics and values should be integrated along with the content teaching of the subjects in undergraduate programs. Hence, the vision of developing professional ethics, community ethics, self-esteem, personality, and character should be reflected in and taught through the curriculum. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether human values and ethics are emphasized in the objectives of the curriculum and course content of the departments of English in Bangladeshi private universities. This paper also aims to identify the gap created by the absence of humanizing study contents in the undergraduate English program curriculums of private universities in Bangladesh and provide suggestions to fill the vacuum. After the content analysis of collected curriculums, a significant gap in the inclusion of humanizing study contents in these undergraduate English curriculums to develop moral and ethical faculties among the learners was traced. The study came up with suggestions for adjustment in the university curriculum to fill this vacuum by integrating content and value learning together adopting a holistic approach to nurture humane and moral behavior

Restrained Shrinkage of Fly Ash Based Geopolymer Concrete and Analysis of Long Term Shrinkage Prediction Models

The research presented in this manuscript describes the procedure to quantify the restrained shrinkage of geopolymer concrete (GPC) using ring specimen. Massive concrete structures are susceptible to shrinkage and thermal cracking. This cracking can increase the concrete permeability and decrease the strength and design life. This test is comprised of evaluating geopolymer concrete of six different mix designs including different activator solution to fly ash ratio and subjected to both restrained and free shrinkage. Test results obtained from this experimental setup was plotted along with the available empirical equation to observe the shrinkage strain of GPC and a model was suggested to predict the shrinkage strain of GPC. It was found from this study that along with activator solution to fly ash ratio the final compressive strength of GPC plays an important role on shrinkage strai

An overview on Co-operative societies in Bangladesh

    Get PDF
Co-operative is a kind of social enterprise which is defined by the international co-operative Alliances’ as an autonomous association of persons’ united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly-owned and democratically-controlled enterprise. Though are very little specification and justification what is social enterprise is, it is acknowledged that social enterprise is intending for the social benefit rather than profitability in numerical values. We see the co-operative is originated and cooperated by the people of similar class or society to protect their interest and for the socio-economical development collectively. Historically, cooperative is playing the same role of protecting the low earner and developing their socio-economic condition from the first cooperative in England till now. Though there are some dishonest people is trying to take the advantages of social enterprise goodwill doing microfinance and other financial activities for personal or family benefits in Bangladesh, the effective law has developed by the government and  proper implantation could remove this type of activities. The overall cooperative situation in Bangladesh is not expected it ought to be. The prime reasons may be the proper knowledge, unawareness, lack of trust, imperfection of the market competition and corruption. The objectives of the study are as follows: To critically analyze the evolution and the present scenario of the cooperatives in Bangladesh Find out the necessary steps to take for the cooperatives developmen

    Get PDF
Organoleptic qualities and proximate composition of fish grown in carp fattening pond were studied under three treatments of feed and fertiliser management. Treatment T1 was designed with the use of organic fertiliser and stocking of silver carp, T2 with both organic and inorganic fertilisers and silver carp and T3 with both organic and inorganic fertilisers but excluding silver carp. One day in a week feeding restriction was followed in all the treatments.  Fishes were stocked with a stocking density of 2470 fishes ha–1. Three fishes (Gibelion catla, Labeo rohita and Cirrhinus cirrhosus) were selected for organoleptic and proximate assessment. Cyanobacteria along with total phytoplankton cell density was significantly higher at treatment T2 followed by T3 and T1. However, in terms of productivity (Chl-a) treatment T2 was 27.1 and 13.3% higher compared to T1 and T3 respectively. Parameters assessed for proximate composition analysis did not vary across treatments and organoleptic test revealed comparatively higher acceptability of fishes collected from treatment T1 followed by T2 and T3 for all the fishes. Overall acceptability was higher for L. rohita from treatment T1. This study concluded that, inorganic fertilisation along with silver carp can improve the organoleptic properties of carps in pond

An experiment was conducted at the Agronomy Field Laboratory, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh from March to June, 2007 to investigate the effect of cultivar and seed rate on morphological characters, yield attributes and yield of summer mungbean. The experiment comprised four varieties viz., BINA moog2, BINA moog5, BINA moog6 and BINA moog7 and four seed rates viz. 30, 40, 50 and 60 kg ha-1. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Results revealed that variety and seed rate had significant effect on the studied crop characters and yield. The variety BINA moog7 showed superiority in relation to plant height, number of branches and effective pods per plant, number of seeds pod-1 compared to other varieties, which resulted in the highest seed yield both per plant and per hectare. The plant height, stover yield and number of non-effective pods per plant increased with the increase in seed rate, while branch number, number of effective pods per plant, seeds per pod, 100-seed weight, as well as seed weight per plant decreased with increasing seed rate. The higher number of branches and effective pods per plant, number of seeds pod, 100-seed weight and seed yield per plant were recorded at the rate of 30 and 40 kg seeds ha-1 and the lowest values for the above parameters were observed at the rate of 60 kg seeds ha-1. But per unit area basis, the highest seed yield was recorded in 40 kg seeds ha-1 followed by 50 kg seeds ha-1 due to accommodation of higher number of plants. BINA moog7 interacted favorably with the seed rate of 30 kg ha-1 to produce the highest seed yield
