Topics in Nonlinear Sigma Models in D=3
Nonlinear sigma models (NLSM) in d=3 have many interesting and non-trivial
features, which were explored poorly in contrast with NLSM in d=2 and d=4. We
present a few results from our study of the perturbative and non-perturbative
properties of three-dimensional (3D) NLSM. i) We have shown that cancellation
of ultra-violet (UV) divergences takes place in 3D extended (N=2,4)
supersymmetric NLSM in low orders of the 1/n expansion. ii) We consider
noncommutative extension of the 3D CP(n) model, and study low-energy dynamics
of BPS solitons in this model. We also discuss briefly dynamics of non-BPS
solutions.Comment: 19 pages, 2 figures; v2 minor changes, references added, Contributed

Vanishing Next-to-Leading Corrections to the \beta-Function of the SUSY CP^{N-1} Model in Three Dimensions
We study the ultraviolet properties of the supersymmetric CP^{N-1} sigma
model in three dimensions to next-to-leading order in the 1/N expansion. We
calculate the \beta-function to this order and verify that it has no
next-to-leading order corrections.Comment: 8 pages, 1 figure, the renormalization constant of the field alpha is

Deformed Type 0A Matrix Model and Super-Liouville Theory for Fermionic Black Holes
We consider a model in the fermionic black hole background. For
this purpose we consider a model which contains both the N=1 and the N=2
super-Liouville interactions. We propose that this model is dual to a recently
proposed type 0A matrix quantum mechanics model with vortex deformations. We
support our conjecture by showing that non-perturbative corrections to the free
energy computed by both the matrix model and the super-Liouville theories agree
exactly by treating the N=2 interaction as a small perturbation. We also show
that a two-point function on sphere calculated from the deformed type 0A matrix
model is consistent with that of the N=2 super-Liouville theory when the N=1
interaction becomes small. This duality between the matrix model and
super-Liouville theories leads to a conjecture for arbitrary -point
correlation functions of the N=1 super-Liouville theory on the sphere.Comment: 18 pages, no figur

Insecticidal Activity and Properties of TIA-230 (Pyraclofos)
TIA-230 (pyraclofos*), O-[1(4-chlorophenyl)-4-pyrazolyl]o-ethyl S-propyl phosphorothiolate showed high insecticidal activity against the Lepidopterous, Coleopterous, Hemipterous, and Dipterous insect pests, such as Spodoptera litura, Mamestra brassiase, Pseudaletia separata, Plutella xylostella, Pieris rapae, Adoxophyes orana, Chilo suppressalis, Aulacophora femoralis, Phyllotreta striolata, Phaedon brassicae, Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata, Lissorhoptrus orizophilus, Aphis gossypii, Aphis glycines, Myzus persicae, Hyalopterus pruni, Musca domestica and Culex pipiens molestus. The compound also showed a high acaricidal activity against Tetranychus urticae, Tetranychus kanzawai and Rhizoglyphus echinopus and showed a high nematicidal activity against Meloidogyne incognita. Residual activity by foliar spray of TIA-230 was shown to be higher than those of prothiophos, acephate, methomyl, demethylvinphos, chlorpyrifos-methl, dicofol, fenbutatin oxide and cyhexatin. In field tests, the sprays of 0.017% and 0.035% solution of TIA-230 (wettable powder) were highly effective in controlling the damage to cabbage by Spodoptera litura, Mamestra Brassiase, Plutella xylostella, Pieris rapae and Myzus persicae.Originating text in Japanese.Citation: Sato, Yasuo, Kono, Yoshiaki, Nagano, Masayoshi, Manabe, Yukiaki, Oguchi, Hiroaki, Yamamoto, Yasuhiro. Non-BPS Solutions of the Noncommutative CP^1 Model in 2+1 Dimensions
We find non-BPS solutions of the noncommutative CP^1 model in 2+1 dimensions.
These solutions correspond to soliton anti-soliton configurations. We show that
the one-soliton one-anti-soliton solution is unstable when the distance between
the soliton and the anti-soliton is small. We also construct time-dependent
solutions and other types of solutions.Comment: 11 pages, minor correction
Cancellation of UV Divergences in the N=4 SUSY Nonlinear Sigma Model in Three Dimensions
We study the UV properties of the three-dimensional SUSY
nonlinear sigma model whose target space is (the cotangent
bundle of ) to higher orders in the 1/N expansion. We calculate the
-function to next-to-leading order and verify that it has no quantum
corrections at leading and next-to-leading orders.Comment: 10 pages, 2 figures. references adde
