Sustainable farming with native rocks: the transition without revolution.
The development process which humanity passed through favored a series of conquests, reflected in the better quality of life and longevity, however, it also provoked upsets and severe transformation in the environment and in the human food security. Such process is driving the ecosystems to be homogeneous, and, therefore, the nutrients supply, via nourishment. To change this panorama, the present work discusses the gains of incorporating the stonemeal technique as a strategic alternative to give back the essential fertile characteristics to the soils. This technology has the function of facilitating the rejuvenation of the soils and increasing the availability of the necessary nutrients to the full development of the plants which is a basic input for the proliferation of life in all its dimensions
Baryonic Matter in the Hidden Local Symmetry Induced from Holographic QCD Models
Baryonic matter is studied in the Skyrme model by taking into account the
roles of , and mesons through the hidden local symmetry
up to terms including the homogeneous Wess-Zumino (hWZ)
terms. Using the master formulas for the low energy constants derived from
holographic QCD models the skyrmion matter properties can be quantitatively
calculated with the input values of the pion decay constant and the
vector meson mass . We find that the hWZ terms are responsible for
the repulsive interactions of the meson. In addition, the
self-consistently included terms with the hWZ terms is found
to increase the half skyrmion phase transition point above the normal nucleon
density.Comment: Contribution to SCGT12 "KMI-GCOE Workshop on Strong Coupling Gauge

Impact of Need for Control on Multichannel Consumers’ Convenience Expectations of Online Order/In-store Pickup Service
“Online order/in-store pickup (OOIP)” service allows customers to self-collect their online orders from the retailers’ physical store at their convenience. This service provided by many multichannel retailers brings unprecedented control to customers in the order fulfillment process. This paper examines how need for control, a fundamental psychological trait impacts multichannel consumers’ expectation of the level of service convenience that OOIP provides. Data was collected from 351 Chinese consumers to assess the effect of need for control on decision convenience, access convenience, transaction convenience, and post-benefit convenience. Findings suggest that consumers’ need for control positively affect their expectations on all four types of service convenience. We provide theoretical and managerial implications arising from the findings
