Birman-Wenzl-Murakami Algebra and the Topological Basis
In this paper, we use entangled states to construct 9x9-matrix
representations of Temperley-Lieb algebra (TLA), then a family of 9x9-matrix
representations of Birman-Wenzl-Murakami algebra (BWMA) have been presented.
Based on which, three topological basis states have been found. And we apply
topological basis states to recast nine-dimensional BWMA into its
three-dimensional counterpart. Finally, we find the topological basis states
are spin singlet states in special case.Comment: 11pages, 1 figur
Performance Analysis of Signaling Delay for Wireless Cellular Networks
In wireless cellular networks, signaling traffic such as location update, paging and handoff due to the user\u27s mobility takes a considerable portion of the total traffic load. In addition, the maximum allowable delays may be different among the signaling packets. In this paper, we present an analytical model for evaluating a total processing delay of signaling packets of wireless cellular networks, which integrates the delays of the radio channel and the processing delay at the wired portion. Through numerical examples, we show that priority processing is effective for reducing the handoff processing delays. We also evaluate the delay difference among cells according to their position within the location area, and the influence of number of terminals upon the processing delays
Scattering phases in quantum dots: an analysis based on lattice models
The properties of scattering phases in quantum dots are analyzed with the
help of lattice models. We first derive the expressions relating the different
scattering phases and the dot Green functions. We analyze in detail the Friedel
sum rule and discuss the deviation of the phase of the transmission amplitude
from the Friedel phase at the zeroes of the transmission. The occurrence of
such zeroes is related to the parity of the isolated dot levels. A statistical
analysis of the isolated dot wave-functions reveals the absence of significant
correlations in the parity for large disorder and the appearance, for weak
disorder, of certain dot states which are strongly coupled to the leads. It is
shown that large differences in the coupling to the leads give rise to an
anomalous charging of the dot levels. A mechanism for the phase lapse observed
experimentally based on this property is discussed and illustrated with model
calculations.Comment: 18 pages, 9 figures. to appear in Physical Review
Affleck-Dine dynamics and the dark sector of pangenesis
Pangenesis is the mechanism for jointly producing the visible and dark matter
asymmetries via Affleck-Dine dynamics in a baryon-symmetric universe. The
baryon-symmetric feature means that the dark asymmetry cancels the visible
baryon asymmetry and thus enforces a tight relationship between the visible and
dark matter number densities. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the
general dynamics of this scenario in more detail and to construct specific
models. After reviewing the simple symmetry structure that underpins all
baryon-symmetric models, we turn to a detailed analysis of the required
Affleck-Dine dynamics. Both gravity-mediated and gauge-mediated supersymmetry
breaking are considered, with the messenger scale left arbitrary in the latter,
and the viable regions of parameter space are determined. In the gauge-mediated
case where gravitinos are light and stable, the regime where they constitute a
small fraction of the dark matter density is identified. We discuss the
formation of Q-balls, and delineate various regimes in the parameter space of
the Affleck-Dine potential with respect to their stability or lifetime and
their decay modes. We outline the regions in which Q-ball formation and decay
is consistent with successful pangenesis. Examples of viable dark sectors are
presented, and constraints are derived from big bang nucleosynthesis, large
scale structure formation and the Bullet cluster. Collider signatures and
implications for direct dark matter detection experiments are briefly
discussed. The following would constitute evidence for pangenesis:
supersymmetry, GeV-scale dark matter mass(es) and a Z' boson with a significant
invisible width into the dark sector.Comment: 51 pages, 7 figures; v2: minor modifications, comments and references

Numerical study on the flexural behaviour of slim-floor beams with hollow core slabs at elevated temperature
[EN] Slim-floor beams are a novel typology of steel beams where the steel profile is fully embedded within the concrete floor depth. While the use of this system is increasing fast in the construction practice, the available investigations on its fire performance are still scarce. This paper focuses on analysing the fire behaviour of slim floor beams combined with hollow core slabs as flooring system. Two configurations are studied, namely Integrated Floor Beam (IFB) and Shallow Floor Beam (SFB). A finite element model is developed and validated by comparison with experimental results available in the literature as well as with thermal tests carried out by the authors. Subsequently, parametric studies are conducted with the aim of providing practical design recommendations. The influence of the composite beam configuration, concrete type, longitudinal reinforcement and steel plate thickness is studied. The conclusions drawn in this paper suggest that the SFB configuration may provide a significant enhancement in terms of fire resistance compared to IFB, provided that the appropriate combination of the parameters studied is used. The authors would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Spanish "Ministerio de Economia y Competitividad" for the help provided through the Project BIA2015-67192-R and to the European Union through the FEDER funds.Albero Gabarda, V.; Espinós Capilla, A.; Serra Mercé, E.; Romero, ML.; Hospitaler Pérez, A. The ZZ' kinetic mixing in the light of the recent direct and indirect dark matter searches
Several constructions, of stringy origins or not, generate abelian gauge
extensions of the Standard Model (SM). Even if the particles of the SM are not
charged under this extra , one cannot avoid the presence of a kinetic
mixing between and the hypercharge . In this work, we
constraint drastically this kinetic mixing, taking into account the recent
experimental data from accelerator physics, direct detection and indirect
detection of dark matter. We show that the region respecting WMAP and
experimental constraints is now very narrowed along the pole line where

Electric charge quantization and the muon anomalous magnetic moment
We investigate some proposals to solve the electric charge quantization
puzzle, which simultaneously explain the recent measured deviation on the muon
anomalous magnetic moment. For this we assess extensions of the Electro-Weak
Standard Model spanning modifications on the scalar sector only. It is
interesting to verify that one can have modest extensions which easily account
for the solution for both problems.Comment: 20 pages, 1 figures, needs macro axodraw.st

A new rheo-processing method, the melt-conditioning high-pressure die-cast (MC-HPDC) process, has been developed for manufacturing near-net-shape components of high integrity. The MC-HPDC process adapts the well-established high shear dispersive mixing action of a twin-screw mechanism to the task of overcoming the cohesive force of the agglomerates under a high shear rate and high intensity of turbulence. This is followed by direct shaping of the slurry into near-net-shape components using an existing cold-chamber die-casting process. The results indicate that the MC-HPDC samples have a uniform distribution of ultrafine-sized SiC particles throughout the entire sample in the as-cast condition. Compared to those produced by conventional high-pressure die casting (HPDC), MC-HPDC samples have a much improved tensile strength and ductility.EP-SR
Magnetic Flux of EUV Arcade and Dimming Regions as a Relevant Parameter for Early Diagnostics of Solar Eruptions - Sources of Non-Recurrent Geomagnetic Storms and Forbush Decreases
This study aims at the early diagnostics of geoeffectiveness of coronal mass
ejections (CMEs) from quantitative parameters of the accompanying EUV dimming
and arcade events. We study events of the 23th solar cycle, in which major
non-recurrent geomagnetic storms (GMS) with Dst <-100 nT are sufficiently
reliably identified with their solar sources in the central part of the disk.
Using the SOHO/EIT 195 A images and MDI magnetograms, we select significant
dimming and arcade areas and calculate summarized unsigned magnetic fluxes in
these regions at the photospheric level. The high relevance of this eruption
parameter is displayed by its pronounced correlation with the Forbush decrease
(FD) magnitude, which, unlike GMSs, does not depend on the sign of the Bz
component but is determined by global characteristics of ICMEs. Correlations
with the same magnetic flux in the solar source region are found for the GMS
intensity (at the first step, without taking into account factors determining
the Bz component near the Earth), as well as for the temporal intervals between
the solar eruptions and the GMS onset and peak times. The larger the magnetic
flux, the stronger the FD and GMS intensities are and the shorter the ICME
transit time is. The revealed correlations indicate that the main quantitative
characteristics of major non-recurrent space weather disturbances are largely
determined by measurable parameters of solar eruptions, in particular, by the
magnetic flux in dimming areas and arcades, and can be tentatively estimated in
advance with a lead time from 1 to 4 days. For GMS intensity, the revealed
dependencies allow one to estimate a possible value, which can be expected if
the Bz component is negative.Comment: 27 pages, 5 figures. Accepted for publication in Solar Physic
