This research aims to empirically examine the effect of the contents of Riliv's Instagram mental health messages on the resilience abilities of Instagram followers through a quantitative approach and survey methods. The analysis of this study uses an independent variable, namely the contents of Riliv's Instagram mental health messages and the dependent variable is the resilience of Instagram followers. The research sample is Riliv's active Instagram followers using the purposive-sampling method. Data collection was carried out by distributing 400 questionnaires. The statistical method used is simple regression analysis and partial statistical test (T-test) as a research hypothesis test. The results of this study indicate that the contents of Riliv's Instagram mental health messages have an effect on the resilience ability of followers. This is based on the results of the hypothesis test, where the t-count value is 3.185 greater than the specified t-table value of 0.1966 and when viewed from the significance figure the results are 0.000 < 0.05.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara empiris pengaruh dari isi pesan kesehatan mental instagram Riliv terhadap kemampuan resiliensi followers instagram melalui pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode survei. Meteorological effects of the solar eclipse of 20 March 2015: analysis of UK Met Office automatic weather station data and comparison with automatic weather station data from the Faroes and Iceland.

Here, we analyse high-frequency (1 min) surface air temperature, mean sea-level pressure (MSLP), wind speed and direction and cloud-cover data acquired during the solar eclipse of 20 March 2015 from 76 UK Met Office weather stations, and compare the results with those from 30 weather stations in the Faroe Islands and 148 stations in Iceland. There was a statistically significant mean UK temperature drop of 0.83±0.63°C, which occurred over 39 min on average, and the minimum temperature lagged the peak of the eclipse by about 10 min. For a subset of 14 (16) relatively clear (cloudy) stations, the mean temperature drop was 0.91±0.78 (0.31±0.40)°C but the mean temperature drops for relatively calm and windy stations were almost identical. Mean wind speed dropped significantly by 9% on average during the first half of the eclipse. There was no discernible effect of the eclipse on the wind-direction or MSLP time series, and therefore we can discount any localized eclipse cyclone effect over Britain during this event. Similar changes in air temperature and wind speed are observed for Iceland, where conditions were generally clearer, but here too there was no evidence of an eclipse cyclone; in the Faroes, there was a much more muted meteorological signature. This article is part of the themed issue 'Atmospheric effects of solar eclipses stimulated by the 2015 UK eclipse'

Synchronously pumped mid-infrared CdSe optical parametric oscillator

Synchronously pumped optical parametric oscillators (SPOPOs) are efficient sources of tunable ultrashort pulses, with low threshold average power requirements, since gain is defined by peak power. An attractive material for such devices is cadmium selenide (CdSe) due to its high nonlinearity (d(31) = 18 pm/V), wide transparency range (0.75-25 µm) and high optical quality. Previous efforts involving CdSe in OPOs have been restricted to angle-tuning, and using Q-switched pump sources. We present here the first continuous-wave, mode-locked SPOPO based on non-critically phase-matched (NCPM) CdSe, with agile tuning of the idler over the range 9.1-9.7 µm, the longest wavelength achieved using a SPOPO to date. Pump-wavelength-tuning over a wide range (necessary for the NCPM arrangement) was provided by the signal output of a periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) SPOPO, operating close to degeneracy using a single PPLN grating period. The use of a diffraction grating to tune the signal of the PPLN SPOPO was a key factor in obtaining clean, single-frequency pump conditions, with tuning achieved by simple grating rotation

    Cost model for LIMA device

[EN] In this paper we show the results of the cost model developed in LIMA project (FP7-248909). The LIMA project is titled "Improve photovoltaic efficiency by applying novel effects at the limits of light to matter interaction". The project started in January 2010 and during this year a cost model of the device developed in the project has been developed to assess the industrial viability of this innovative approach to increase the efficiency and reduce the cost of photovoltaic solar cells. LIMA project exploits cutting edge photonic technologies to enhance silicon solar cell efficiencies with new concepts in nanostructured materials. It proposes nano-structured surface layers designed to increase light absorption in the solar cell while decreasing surface and interface recombination loss. Integration in a back contact design further reduces these interface losses and avoids shading. The project improves light-matter interaction by the use a surface plasmonic nanoparticle layer. This reduces reflection and efficiently couples incident radiation into the solar cell where it is trapped by internal reflection. Surface and interface recombination are minimized by using silicon quantum dot superlattices in a passivating matrix. The distance between quantum dots ensures wave-function overlap and good conductivity. © 2010 Published by Elsevier Ltd.This work has been carried out in the framework of the LIMA Project. Feeding and Distribution of Porosity in Cast Al-Si Alloys as Function of Alloy Composition and Modification

Unmodified, Na-modified, and Sr-modified castings of Al-7 pct Si and Al-12.5 pct Si alloys were cast in molds in which it was possible to create different cooling conditions. It is shown how solidification influences the distribution of porosity at the surface and the center of the castings as a function of modification and Si content in sand- and chill-cast samples. Eutectic modification, Si content, and cooling conditions have a great impact on the distribution of porosity. Unmodified and Na-modified castings are more easily fed with porosity tending to congregate near the centerline of the casting, while Sr-modified castings solidify in a mushy manner that creates a more homogeneous distribution of porosity in the casting. The amount of porosity was highest in the Sr-modified alloys, lower in the Na-modified alloys, and lowest in the unmodified alloys. The size of the porosity-free layer and the effectiveness of the feeders were greater in the castings made with the steel chills due to the increased thermal gradients and consequent increase in the directionality of solidification
