The associations of polymorphisms in cytokine genes with the infectious form recurrent miscarriage were investigated. Have established, that at the women a genotype AA of a gene TNFA (rs1800629) and combination of genotypes *1/*1 genes IL1RN and GG of a gene IL6 (rs1800795) are involved in pathogenesis recurrent miscarriage

The correlation between immune response to benzo(a)pyrene and progesterone in combination with detoxification enzyme gene polymorphism (CYPIA2*1F and GSTTI) and the occurrence of congenital malformations of the fetus was revealed. It is shown that at high ratio of IgA-antibodies to benzo(a)pyrene and to progesterone in conjunction with the mutant allele of the gene CYPIA2*1F and the deletion genotype of the gene GSTTI chance of the reproductive pathology developing increases to 41 times

An analysis-ready and quality controlled resource for pediatric brain white-matter research

We created a set of resources to enable research based on openly-available diffusion MRI (dMRI) data from the Healthy Brain Network (HBN) study. First, we curated the HBN dMRI data (N = 2747) into the Brain Imaging Data Structure and preprocessed it according to best-practices, including denoising and correcting for motion effects, susceptibility-related distortions, and eddy currents. Preprocessed, analysis-ready data was made openly available. Data quality plays a key role in the analysis of dMRI. To optimize QC and scale it to this large dataset, we trained a neural network through the combination of a small data subset scored by experts and a larger set scored by community scientists. The network performs QC highly concordant with that of experts on a held out set (ROC-AUC = 0.947). A further analysis of the neural network demonstrates that it relies on image features with relevance to QC. Altogether, this work both delivers resources to advance transdiagnostic research in brain connectivity and pediatric mental health, and establishes a novel paradigm for automated QC of large datasets

Aeroelectric structures and turbulence in the atmospheric boundary layer

Complex electrical measurements with the use of sodar data show that electric field pulsation analysis is useful for electrodynamics/turbulence monitoring under different conditions. In particular, the number of aeroelectric structures (AES) generated per hour is a convenient measure of the turbulence intensity. During convectively unstable periods, as many as 5–10 AES form per hour. Under stable conditions, AES occasionally form as well, indicating the appearance of occasional mixing events reflected in the electric field perturbations. AES magnitudes under stable conditions are relatively small, except in special cases such as high humidity and fog. The analysis of electric field (EF) spectra gives additional useful information on the parameters of the atmospheric boundary layer and its turbulence. A rather sharp change in the spectrum slope takes place in the vicinity of 0.02 Hz under stable conditions. The characteristic slope of the spectrum and its change are reproduced in a simple model of EF formation

Associations between IL1B (rs1143634), IL1RN (VNTR, intron 2), IL4 (VNTR, intron 3), TNFA (rs1800629, rs361525), IL6 (rs1800795), and IL10 (rs1800896) genetic polymorphisms in women with recurrent miscarriage (RM) were analyzed. We studied DNA samples of 112 women with RM and 267 women with physiological pregnancy. The IL1RN, IL4 genotypes were identified by PCR techniques, the IL1B, IL6 gene polymorphisms were defined by means of RFLP approach. To detect TNFA and IL10 gene polymorphisms, TaqMan real-time PCR was used. The results have shown that polymorphic loci of IL1B, IL1RN, IL10, TNFA genes were not associated with RM, and early spontaneous abortion risk. The 2R allele of IL4 gene was found to be associated with higher RM risk (OR = 1.52; 95% CI = [1.08-2.14]; P-value (cor) = 0.05), and G allele of IL6 gene was associated with a risk for > 3 early spontaneous abortions (OR = 2.10; 95% CI = [1.24-3.56]; P-value (cor) = 0.05), in an additive inheritance model. Upon evaluation of the data obtained, one may conclude that the IL4 (VNTR intron 3) and IL6 (rs1800795) gene polymorphisms could influence the RM development. These results may be useful for assessment of molecular mechanisms underlying early spontaneous abortion

A physical map of the short arm of wheat chromosome 1A

Bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) has a large and highly repetitive genome which poses major technical challenges for its study. To aid map-based cloning and future genome sequencing projects, we constructed a BAC-based physical map of the short arm of wheat chromosome 1A (1AS). From the assembly of 25,918 high information content (HICF) fingerprints from a 1AS-specific BAC library, 715 physical contigs were produced that cover almost 99% of the estimated size of the chromosome arm. The 3,414 BAC clones constituting the minimum tiling path were end-sequenced. Using a gene microarray containing ∼40 K NCBI UniGene EST clusters, PCR marker screening and BAC end sequences, we arranged 160 physical contigs (97 Mb or 35.3% of the chromosome arm) in a virtual order based on synteny with Brachypodium, rice and sorghum. BAC end sequences and information from microarray hybridisation was used to anchor 3.8 Mbp of Illumina sequences from flow-sorted chromosome 1AS to BAC contigs. Comparison of genetic and synteny-based physical maps indicated that ∼50% of all genetic recombination is confined to 14% of the physical length of the chromosome arm in the distal region. The 1AS physical map provides a framework for future genetic mapping projects as well as the basis for complete sequencing of chromosome arm 1AS
