PlantLayout pipeline to model tissue patterning

To study the mechanisms underlying developmental pattern formation in a tissue, one needs to analyze the dynamics of the regulators in time and space across the tissue of a specific architecture. This problem is essential for the developmental regulators (morphogens) that distribute over the tissues anisotropically, forming there maxima and gradients and guiding cellular processes in a dose-dependent manner. Here we present the PlantLayout pipeline for MATLAB software, which facilitates the computational studies of tissue patterning. With its help, one can build a structural model of a two-dimensional tissue, embed it into a mathematical model in ODEs, perform numerical simulations, and visualize the obtained results - everything on the same platform. As a result, one can study the concentration dynamics of developmental regulators over the cell layout reconstructed from the real tissue. PlantLayout allows studying the dynamics and the output of gene networks guided by the developmental regulator in specific cells. The gene networks could be different for different cell types. One of the obstacles that PlantLayout removes semi-automatically is the determination of the cell wall orientation which is relevant when cells in the tissue have a polarity. Additionally, PlantLayout allows automatically extracting other quantitative and qualitative features of the cells and the cell walls, which might help in the modeling of a developmental pattern, such as the length and the width of the cell walls, the set of the neighboring cells, cell volume and cell perimeter. We demonstrate PlantLayout performance on the model of phytohormone auxin distribution over the plant root tip

© 2016, National Academy of Management. All rights reserved. The article analyzes the topical problem of professional competencies formation in the framework of innovative educational system of vocational training under uncertainty of demand in specialists in the field of high technologies in the medium and long time horizons. The solution to a “blurred” trend of demand in specialists of different spheres of innovative economy could be realized through forecasting the demand for highly qualified personnel, based on the analysis of innovative development strategy for regional economy. The authors prove that differences in the content of professional competencies of future professionals will depend not only on the areas of their application, but also on the objectively existing uncertainty of correlations between components of educational programs, forming both specific and “soft” professional skills, which will contribute to the formation of human capital

© 2016 American Chemical Society.Interaction of 4,5-dimethyl-2-(2-oxo-1,2-diphenyl)ethoxy-1,3,2-dioxaphospholane, bearing a carboxyl group in the γ-position with respect to the phosphorus atom and obtained from d,l-butanediol, with hexafluoroacetone (CCl4, -40 °C) leads to the simultaneous formation of regio- and stereoisomeric cage-like phosphoranes with phosphorus-carbon and phosphorus-oxygen bonds with a high stereoselectivity (>95%), whose structure was determined by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy and XRD. When stored as a solution in dichloromethane for one month, the PCO-isomer rearranges into the thermodynamically more stable POC-isomer of the cage-like phosphorane. Mild hydrolysis of the PCO/POC-isomers proceeds with a high chemoselectivity and leads to the formation of P(IV)-dioxaphospholane derivatives. Acidic hydrolysis of the POC-isomer leads to the formation of an oxirane derivative with an unexpectedly high stereoselectivity (>95%). DFT calculations (using the PBE functional) allowed us to obtain structures and energies of the initial phospholane, reaction products (PCO/POC-isomers), and an intermediate P(V)-oxaphosphirane
