Construction of Integrals of Higher-Order Mappings

We find that certain higher-order mappings arise as reductions of the integrable discrete A-type KP (AKP) and B-type KP (BKP) equations. We find conservation laws for the AKP and BKP equations, then we use these conservation laws to derive integrals of the associated reduced maps.Comment: appear to Journal of the Physical Society of Japa

Road Vehicle Following System With Adaptive Controller Gain Using Model Reference Adaptive Control Method Lyapunov Approaches

    Get PDF
In order to maintain stability and satisfy operating constraints, the control system on the following vehicle needs information about the motion of preceding vehicle. A one-vehicle look-ahead control strategy is proposed and will be investigated for this operation. A mathematical model for this control strategy is obtained and simulated. This paper describes the process of designing an adaptive controller gain for a road vehicle following system using two Lyapunov approach. One approaches utilizes the perfect modelling while the other does not. This is done through simulations and comparisons and is further discussed to find the effectiveness of the two Lyapunov approaches

Kernel-based Estimation of Ageing Intensity Function: Properties and Applications

    Get PDF
The notion of ageing plays an important role in reliability and survival analysis as it is an inherent property of all systems and products. Jiang, Ji, and Xiao (2003) proposed a new quantitative measure, known as ageing intensity (AI) function, an alternative measure to study the ageing pattern of probability models. In this paper, we propose a nonparametric estimator for ageing intensity function. Asymptotic properties of the estimator are established under suitable regularity conditions. A set of simulation studies are carried out based on various probability models to examine the performance of estimator and to establish its efficiency over the classical estimator. The usefulness of the estimator is also examined through a real data set

The lattice Schwarzian KdV equation and its symmetries

In this paper we present a set of results on the symmetries of the lattice Schwarzian Korteweg-de Vries (lSKdV) equation. We construct the Lie point symmetries and, using its associated spectral problem, an infinite sequence of generalized symmetries and master symmetries. We finally show that we can use master symmetries of the lSKdV equation to construct non-autonomous non-integrable generalized symmetries.Comment: 11 pages, no figures. Submitted to Jour. Phys. Hermitian quark mass matrices with four texture zeros

    Get PDF
We provide a complete and systematic analysis of hermitian, hierarchical quark mass matrices with four texture zeros. Using triangular mass matrices, each pattern of texture zeros is readily shown to lead to a definite relation between the CKM parameters and the quark masses. Nineteen pairs are found to be consistent with present data, and one other is marginally acceptable. In particular, no parallel structure between the up and down mass matrices is found to be favorable with data.Comment: 18 pages, no figure, references [8] and [10] adde

Unique Mass Texture for Quarks and Leptons

    Get PDF
Texture specific quark mass matrices which are hermitian and hierarchical are examined in detail . In the case of texture 6 zeros matrices, out of sixteen possibilities examined by us, none is able to fit the low energy data (LED), for example, Vus=0.2196±0.0023V_{us} = 0.2196 \pm 0.0023, Vcb=0.0395±0.0017V_{cb} = 0.0395 \pm 0.0017, VubVcb=0.08±0.02\frac{V_{ub}}{V_{cb}} = 0.08 \pm 0.02, VtdV_{td} lies in the range 0.004−0.0130.004 - 0.013 (PDG). Similarly none of the 32 texture 5 zeros mass matrices considered is able to reproduce LED. In particular, the latest data from LEP regarding ∣Vub∣/∣Vcb∣(=0.093±0.016)|V_{ub}|/|V_{cb}|(=0.093\pm0.016) rules out all of them. In the texture 4 zeros case, we find that there is a unique texture structure for UU and DD mass matrices which is able to fit the data.Comment: 12 pages, LaTeX,some changes in the references, minor changes in the text,to appear in Phys Rev D(Rapid communications

Autonomous Irrigation Management in Decision Agriculture

    Get PDF
In this chapter, the important application of autonomous irrigation management in the field decision agriculture is discussed. The different types of sensor-guided irrigation systems are presented that includes center pivot systems and drip irrigation systems. Their sensing and actuator components are with detailed focus on real-time decision-making and integration to the cloud. This chapter also presents irrigation control systems which takes, as an input, soil moisture and temperature from IOUT and weather data from Internet and communicate with center pivot based irrigation systems. Moreover, the system architecture is explored where development of the nodes including sensing and actuators is presented. Finally, the chapter concludes with comprehensive discussion of adaptive control systems, software, and visualization system design
