    Bambu merupakan salah satu sumber daya alam Non-Hutan yang banyak dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Salah satu kelemahan bahan baku bambu adalah tingkat keawetan alami yang rendah sehingga rentan terhadap organisme Perusak seprti kumbang bubuk dan rayap. Pemanfaatan bahan insektisida organik daun mimba merupakan salah satu solusi untuk meningkatkan keawetan bambu sebagai bahan baku produk mebel yang ramah lingkungan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun mimba dan mendapatkan konsentrasi ekstrak yang optimal dalam pengawetan bambu. Model penelitian yang dilakukan metode Desain Eksperimen Faktorial untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak dan lama perendaman bambu dalam proses pengawetan untuk meningkatkan keawetan bambu dari serangan organisme Perusak. Daun mimba segar dicampurkan dengan air untuk menghasilkan variabel konsentrasi 100, 200, 300, 400, dan 500 gram/liter. Pada penelitian ini, bambu direndam dalam larutan konsentrasi ekstrak mimba dengan lama perendaman 30 menit dan 60 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengurangan berat bambu yang signifikan terjadi pada pengawetan bambu dengan konsentrasi ekstrak mimba 20% ( 200 gram/liter) selama 30 menit. Pada konsentrasi ekstrak 20%, sampel bambu mengalami pengurangan berat bambu akibat serangan rayap tanah sebesar 21,55%. Pengawetan bambu yang efektif dapat dilakukan dengan konsentrasi ekstrak mimba 30%. A disadvantage of raw bamboo islow level of durability, so making it vulnerable to destructive organisms such as beetles and termites powder. Utilization of organic insecticide neem leaf is one solution to improve the durability of bamboo as raw material for furniture products that are environmentally friendly. This research objective was to determine the effect of extracts of neem leaf extract and obtain the optimal concentration in the preservation of bamboo. Model used in this research is Design of Experiments Factorial to determine the effect of extract concentration and long soaking the bamboo in the process preservation to improve the durability of bamboo for the organism attack destroyer. Fresh neem leaves are mixed with water to produce variable concentrations of 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 grams / liter. In this research, bamboo is soaked in concentration of neem extract with a long soaking 30 minutes and 60 minutes. The result of experiment showed that significant weight reduction occurred in bamboo bamboo preservation with 20% concentration of neem extract (200 grams / liter) for 30 minutes. At a concentration of extract 20% , samples of bamboo had a weight reduction as a result termite attack for 21.55%.     The research is aimed at finding out the effectiveness of the extract of petai Cina leavesagainst Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria and the effect on curing the excision injury inBalb/C rats when compared to those widely sold in the society.The research method included extracting petai Cina leaves by using maceration method.The sensitivity of the extract to Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria and to the excision injuryin rat was then tested by using other types of medicine containing 10 % of providone iodinewidely sold.The research result showed that the extract of petai Cina leaves could obstruct the growthof Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria with the obstruction level as much as 14 mm. Thetest on the excession injury on rats also showed the same result as other types of medicinesold in drugstores

    PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS DAN BERPIKIR KREATIF SISWA

    Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tentang penerapan pendekatan saintifik dalam pembelajaran matematika dan pengaruhnya terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan berpikir kreatif siswa di Kelas X D Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Pontianak. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design dengan 3 kali perlakuan 1 kali pretest dan 3 kali post-test. Setiap perlakuan dalam pembelajaran diberikan postes untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan berpikir kreatif siswa. Setiap aktivitas guru dan siswa dalam pembelajaran diamati oleh observer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan saintifik terdiri dari lima tahapan yaitu mengamati, menanya, mencoba/mengumpulkan informasi, mengasosiasi, dan mengomunikasikan. Kegiatan pembelajaran sudah mencapai lebih dari 75% dari rancangan yang telah disusun selama 3 kali pertemuan. Setelah dilakukan pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan saintifik dan pengaruhnya terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan berpikir kreatif mengalami peningkatan yaitu rerata sebesar 82,45% dan 84,48%. Serta terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan berpikir kreatif siswa setelah diberikan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik.   Kata Kunci: Pendekatan saintifik, komunikasi matematis, berpikir kreatif. Abstract: The study aims to explain regarding to the application of scientific approach in the Math teaching learning process and the influencing toward the ability of the mathematic communication and the student creative-thinking at the 10th grade MAN I Pontianak. The design of study used is One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Each treatment in the study was given a pretest to determine an increase in mathematic communication skills and creative thinking mathematic students. The teacher-students teaching learning process will be observed by the observer. The results of this research show that the application of scientific approach in math teaching and learning process comprises of five steps, namely observing, questioning, data collection, associating, and communication. Teaching and learning process has achieved more than 75% than the lesson-plan in three meetings. After the implementation of scientific approach in math teaching and learning process and the influence toward the mathematic communication ability and the students creative-thinking, show that there is an increasing of those variables has risen an average of 82,45% and 84,48%. Also, there is a correlation between the ability of mathematic communication and students creative-thinking after learning given the scientific approach.     Considerations for the development of Computer-assisted Language Learning (CALL) teacher training course: a practical experience from a CALL course development in Indonesia

    The need for technology training for teachers will keep on growing in line with the development of technology itself. Although technology nowadays is more and more user friendly and may need no specific training on how to use it, teachers need to possess the knowledge that underpins the idea of using it for teaching and learning process. Teachers need to have solid pedagogical knowledge on how to use the technology to deliver contents to their students. Therefore, a technology-training course for teachers is always necessary. This paper presents the partial results of a design based study/research (DBR) on the development of online technology training for teachers with focus on CALL in Indonesia. Questions regarding factors affecting online CALL course and ways to improve the course in terms of training materials, activities, as well as the administration of the training are addressed in the study. Based on the study, some considerations on how to design such technology-training course are proposed. The considerations are ranging from aspects associated with technology competence for teacher standards, constructivism in online learning, adult learning theory, online instructional models, the technology, pedagogy and content knowledge (TPACK) framework and open educational resources (OER). Information regarding those aspects will be useful to assist other CALL teacher training course developers later to inform their decision in the development of the course which is based on a good theoretical understanding as well as highly practical in learning activitie

    Pengaruh Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Stad dan Motivasiberprestasi terhadap Prestasi Belajar Keterampilan Menulis Siswa Kelas VII SMPN 1 Bangli Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013

    Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pengaruh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan motivasi berprestasi terhadap prestasi belajar keterampilan menulis siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Bangli. Rancangan eksperimen yang digunakan adalah the posttest-only control group design. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Bangli tahun ajaran 2012/2013 yang terdiri dari 208 siswa. Dalam penelitian ini, teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Anava Dua Jalur. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat perbedaan prestasi belajar keterampilan menulis antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dengan siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional dimana kelompok STAD memperoleh prestasi lebih tinggi, (2) Terdapat perbedaaan prestasi belajar keterampilan menulis antara siswa yang memiliki motivasi tinggi dengan siswa yang memiliki prestasi rendah dimana siswa yang memiliki motivasi tinggi menunjukkan prestasi lebih tinggi, dan (3) Terdapat pengaruh interaktif antara model pembelajaran dengan motivasi berprestasi terhadap prestasi belajar keterampilan menulis siswa. Berdasarkan temuan-temuan di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran tipe STAD terhadap prestasi belajar keterampilan menulis siswa dari motivasi berprestasi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Bangli.Kata Kunci : model pembelajaran tipe STAD, motivasi berprestasi, dan prestasi belajar keterampilan menulis The aim of this study was to know the effect of STAD type learning model to the writing skill learning achievement viewed by student\u27s achievement motivation in class VII SMP 1 Bangli in academic year 2012/2013. that consist of 208 students. The sample using simple random sampling and analyzed by two ways Anova. The results are: (1) there was difference of writing skill learning achievement between student following STAD type learning model with student following conventional learning, (2) there was difference of writing skill learning achievement between student possessing high achievement motivation with student possessing low achievement motivation, and (3) there was interactive effect between student possessing high achievement motivation and student possessing low achievement motivation to the writing skill learning achievement. Based on the finding above can be concluded that there is effect of STAD to the writing skill learning achievement viewed by student achievement motivation at SMP 1 Bangl
