Multinational companies must understand the influences on responsibility for managing people so that they can manage talent consistently thus ensuring that it is transferable across locations. We examine the impact of firm and national level characteristics on the devolution of HRM decision making to line managers. Our analysis draws on data from 2335 indigenous organizations in 21 countries. At the firm level, we found that where the HR function has higher power, devolution is less likely. At the national level, devolution of decision making to line management is more likely in societies with more stringent employment laws and lower power distance

Background: There are numerous causes of obstructive jaundice, choledocholithias is the commonest. Patients with obstructive jaundice typically present with complain of yellow skin and eyes, pale stools, dark coloured urine, jaundice, and pruritus. A precise pre-operative diagnosis in almost continuously possible today because of advances in imaging techniques over the decades. Objectives: To study the clinical profile and management of patients with obstructive jaundice. Methods: This was institution based, interventional, prospective, randomized study. Study was conducted at Malla Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences Suraram, Hyderabad, Telangana from September 2020 to August 2021 including 80 patients.Thorough history and clinical examination was done. Patients endured for various laboratory investigations, and radiological evaluation. Analysis was done on SPSS software. Results: Among 80 Obstructive Jaundicepatients, 35 (43.75%) were male and 45 (56.25%) were female. The majority of patients (53.75%) were 31-50 yrs of age.Jaundice as per history in benign conditions was in 50 patients (62.5%) and in malignant condition 30 patients (37.5%). Conclusion: In the present study the occurrence of obstructive jaundice was maximum in the 31-50 year age group. Open exploration of CBD under experienced hands was a good treatment modality in the management of obstructive jaundice

The synthesized polyamide has functional amino and carboxyl groups. The polymer has been characterized by using IR and 1H NMR. The membrane porosity has been determined by SEM. The evaluation of membrane has been done by using "Reverse Osmosis Test Cell" (Osmonics). The salt rejection(efficiency)and product water output rate (flux)have also been determined for different membranes with LiNO3/LiCI combinations.</span

Fiber Optic Vibration Sensor Using PMMA Fiber for Real Time Monitoring

    No full text
A vibration sensor is realized using PMMA (Polymethyl Methacrylate) fiber optic probe as sensor. The probe consists of two fibers, one is transmitting fiber and the other is receiving fiber. In this technique the sensor is non-contact and do not perturb the source of vibration. A portable high performance NI-DAQPad6016 with LabVIEW software is used to interrogate the vibration. The amplitude resolution of the sensor is 1µm within the frequency range 1-300 Hz. The thermal effect on the sensitivity of sensor is minimal. The sensor is suitable for real time monitoring of low frequency vibration and is of low cost and portable
