W publikacji przedstawiono biomasę jako źródło energii. Główną przyczyną zainteresowania się biomasą jako biologicznym nośnikiem energii jest aspekt ekologiczny dotyczący redukcji emisji głównie CO2. Z tego względu jej udział w bilansie paliwowym energetyki odnawialnej w Polsce rośnie z roku na rok. W publikacji przedstawiono sposoby pozyskiwania biomasy i możliwości wykorzystania jej na cele energetyczne. Opisano także potencjał produkcji biomasy w województwie lubelskim, który jest bardzo duży.This paper presents biomass as an energy source. The main reason for interest in biomass as an biological energy source is ecological aspect concerning reduction of CO2, emissions. For this reason, its participation in the fuel balance of renewable energy in Poland is growing from year to year. The paper presents methods of biomass obtaining and the possibility of using it for energy purposes. It also describes the potential of biomass production in the Lublin region, which is significant for this area
