    The data used in this research is secondary data from 30 companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange and a member of the Jakarta Islamic Index in the year 2009, which consists of daily stock price, trading volume, and the Composite Index daily for 7 days before and 7 days after the presidential election of RI. Statistical analysis used is different from two-sample test in pairs (paired sample t-test) using SPSS program. Based on the analysis of the 15 concluded that there is significance of the observation period of market reactions or abnormal stock return in the period prior to 4 (t-4, t-3, t-2, t-1) and After 2 periods (t 6, t 7) election President of Republic of Indonesia dated July 8, 2009. Also concluded that there was no significant difference in abnormal returns and trading volume between the period of 7 days prior to 7 days after the events of Indonesia\u27s presidential election on 8 July 2009, so the hypothesis that there are significant differences in abnormal stock returns and trading volume between periods 7 days prior to 7 days after the date of Indonesia\u27s presidential election July 8, 2009 did not prove true

    Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the outcomes of Indonesian chronic disease management program

    Background: The Indonesian Government launched chronic disease management program (PROLANIS) with the aim of improving clinical outcomes and preventing disease complications of patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the overwhelmed healthcare system shifted resources away from non-communicable diseases in the attempt to mitigate it. Thus, the implementation of PROLANIS during the COVID-19 pandemic might not be as optimal as before the pandemic era, leading to worse clinical outcomes. This pilot study aims to evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on PROLANIS in rural areas by analyzing the changes of metabolic control and renal function parameters.Methods: This study used data from three PROLANIS groups report in rural areas in East Java Province, Indonesia. Study population was PROLANIS participants who came for six-month-evaluation in December 2019 (T0), June 2020 (T1), and December 2020 (T2). Evaluated metabolic control parameters were body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C), total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipid, low-density lipid, and triglyceride (TG), whereas evaluated renal function parameters were blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, and urinary albumin. Independent t-test and Wilcoxon signed-rank test were used for statistical analyses. p-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results: Among 52 PROLANIS participants included in the analyses, four metabolic control parameters (BMI, blood pressure, TC, and TG) and all renal function parameters significantly worsened right after the pandemic started but improved 6 months afterwards. Meanwhile, HbA1C continuously worsened throughout the study period, albeit statistically insignificant.Conclusions: The metabolic control and renal function parameters in our study population deteriorates especially in the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic

    Prevalence and risk factors for disability in leprosy patients in Indonesia during the post-elimination era

    Leprosy has been nationally eliminated in Indonesia, but it continues to be a public health problem, with disability contributing to the disease burden. Disability caused by leprosy often results in stigmatization, leading to decreased quality of life. This was a retrospective cross-sectional study using secondary data from primary healthcare centers in one of the districts in the region with the highest number of leprosy patients in Indonesia. All leprosy patients between 2016-2022 were included. Among 189 leprosy patients (mean age 46 years old, 65,6% male), 19% had grade 1 disability and 29.6% had grade 2 disability. Duration of disease, nerve enlargements, leprosy reactions, and symmetric lesions were identified as risk factors for both grade 1 and 2 disability. Being male and having a positive smear test was associated with a higher risk of only grade 2 disability. Disability due to leprosy is still prevalent in the post-elimination era despite the decline in new leprosy cases. Improvement in early case detection and prevention of disability are still needed in the post-elimination era

    Weak Expression of Terminal Complement in Active Antibody-Mediated Rejection of the Kidney

    BACKGROUND: The role of the complement system in antibody-mediated rejection (ABMR) is insufficiently understood. We aimed to investigate the role of local and systemic complement activation in active (aABMR). We quantified complement activation markers, C3, C3d, and C5b-9 in plasma of aABMR, and acute T-cell mediated rejection (aTCMR), and non-rejection kidney transplant recipients. Intra-renal complement markers were analyzed as C4d, C3d, C5b-9, and CD59 deposition. We examined in vitro complement activation and CD59 expression on renal endothelial cells upon incubation with human leukocyte antigen antibodies. METHODS: We included 50 kidney transplant recipients, who we histopathologically classified as aABMR (n=17), aTCMR (n=18), and non-rejection patients (n=15). RESULTS: Complement activation in plasma did not differ across groups. C3d and C4d deposition were discriminative for aABMR diagnosis. Particularly, C3d deposition was stronger in glomerular (P<0,01), and peritubular capillaries (P<0,05) comparing aABMR to aTCMR rejection and non-rejection biopsies. In contrast to C3d, C5b-9 was only mildly expressed across all groups. For C5b-9, no significant difference between aABMR and non-rejection biopsies regarding peritubular and glomerular C5b-9 deposition was evident. We replicated these findings in vitro using renal endothelial cells and found complement pathway activation with C4d and C3d, but without terminal C5b-9 deposition. Complement regulator CD59 was variably present in biopsies and constitutively expressed on renal endothelial cells in vitro. CONCLUSION: Our results indicate that terminal complement might only play a minor role in late aABMR, possibly indicating the need to re-evaluate the applicability of terminal complement inhibitors as treatment for aABMR

    DPHL: A DIA Pan-human Protein Mass Spectrometry Library for Robust Biomarker Discovery

    To address the increasing need for detecting and validating protein biomarkers in clinical specimens, mass spectrometry (MS)-based targeted proteomic techniques, including the selected reaction monitoring (SRM), parallel reaction monitoring (PRM), and massively parallel data-independent acquisition (DIA), have been developed. For optimal performance, they require the fragment ion spectra of targeted peptides as prior knowledge. In this report, we describe a MS pipeline and spectral resource to support targeted proteomics studies for human tissue samples. To build the spectral resource, we integrated common open-source MS computational tools to assemble a freely accessible computational workflow based on Docker. We then applied the workflow to generate DPHL, a comprehensive DIA pan-human library, from 1096 data-dependent acquisition (DDA) MS raw files for 16 types of cancer samples. This extensive spectral resource was then applied to a proteomic study of 17 prostate cancer (PCa) patients. Thereafter, PRM validation was applied to a larger study of 57 PCa patients and the differential expression of three proteins in prostate tumor was validated. As a second application, the DPHL spectral resource was applied to a study consisting of plasma samples from 19 diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients and 18 healthy control subjects. Differentially expressed proteins between DLBCL patients and healthy control subjects were detected by DIA-MS and confirmed by PRM. These data demonstrate that the DPHL supports DIA and PRM MS pipelines for robust protein biomarker discovery. DPHL is freely accessible at https://www.iprox.org/page/project.html?id=IPX0001400000

    Difficulty in management of acute invasive fungal rhinosinusitis in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic:A case report

    Invasive fungal rhinosinusitis is a rare disease with a high morbidity and mortality rate. Lately, COVID-19 has been associated with an increased incidence of this disease. We present the first case of COVID-19-associated acute invasive fungal rhinosinusitis found in Indonesia. The risk factors for the disease include corticosteroid use and antibiotic use. The case was complicated with left orbital cellulitis and cerebral abscess. Difficulty of management in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic includes hesitancy of the patient to seek medical care and the availability of surgical team for COVID-19-positive patients. Monitoring of corticosteroid and antibiotic use must be emphasized during the pandemic. Awareness of the disease needs to be increased in Indonesia.</p
