    Es interés del presente ensayo el exponer la importancia de los factores sistémicos en la dificultad y hasta falta de implementación de innovación verde en los países de periferia, dando énfasis a las constricciones establecidas por el sistema capitalista a través de la división internacional del trabajo a partir del comercio internacional y como este imposibilita a los países más pobres a formar parte de los procesos de innovación, dejándolos en un ciclo vicioso de dependencia sistémica y degradación ambiental. Tomando de base teorías como la Teoría de la dependencia y la Teoría del Sistema Mundo se contrastan los requerimientos para la innovación tecnológica con supuestos post-schumpeterianos, de esta manera se busca entrelazar los factores en ambos conjuntos de teorías para exponer las grandes dificultades que se imponen a los países de la periferia al intentar innovar en tecnología verde

    Este artículo tiene el propósito de explicar la relación entre la cultura de los salvadoreños tanto en Estados Unidos como en El Salvador. La globalización ha disminuido la sensación de distancia entre los dos países, debido a que los transportes como el avión o el tren, permiten una movilización más sencilla, por ende, migrar es más sencillo que antes, además el abaratamiento de los medios de comunicación hace posible el contacto constante de los inmigrantes y aquellos dejados atrás. Este aspecto tecnológico se entrelaza con el contexto de violencia de la década de los 80 en El Salvador, donde muchos salvadoreños tomaron la decisión de dejar su nación. El contexto del transnacionalismo hace evidente la conexión a través de una serie de diversas redes de largo plazo redes tanto económicas, sociales y culturales. El enfoque se centra en el aspecto cultural de los lazos que comparten ambas comunidades, que a su vez comparte una historia en común, y como nos da un entendimiento de las caravanas migrantes

    Preliminary results using Snorocket to detect errors in the post-coordination of SNOMED CT

    We present preliminary results for the application of a procedure that detects and corrects errors in concept definitions of a local interface vocabulary with SNOMED CT as its reference vocabulary. Using the relations inferred by SNOROCKET we detected redundant fully defined concepts, but also we detected suspected patterns where concepts had redundant inferred relations. Our procedure detected errors in 1.63% of the whole vocabulary, the primary type of error was produced by duplications since these concepts did not exist when the knowledge modeler asserted them. Using these results, we implemented a GUI to track patterns and correct errors. Our procedure contributes to the quality assurance of our local interface vocabulary since errors in the hierarchies can compromise interoperability and meaningful use of the vocabulary.     Characterization of Mature Cladodes of Opuntia ficus-indica L. Using Morphological and Colorimetric Descriptors

    Mexico is the world's leading producer of Opuntia ficus-indica. This kind of prickly pear is the most widespread and most commercially important cactus in Mexico. Morphological and colorimetric descriptors are among the most important agronomic traits because these parameters affect the yield, in such a way, the objective of the present research was to present a fast and reliable methodology to obtain the functional relationship in shape and color parameters of O. ficus indica cladodes, using a smartphone, a color meter, and open-access software. The acquisition and processing of images discovered interesting relationships between the Opuntia cladode's morphological characteristics, as well as colorimetric parameters of the cladodes. The non-linear data behaviors were fitted using deterministic models and CurveExpert software. Results of the study revealed that the best morphological descriptors were Circularity vs. Perimeter (r= 0.9815) and Aspect ratio vs. Roundness  (r= 0.9999).  In addition, mean values of the L*, C, and H color parameters were displayed in a window of a computer program online. It was found that the a-C relationship of the color parameters had the highest correlation coefficient (0.999). Therefore, it can be concluded that the morphological descriptors Circularity vs. Perimeter, Aspect Rate vs. Roundness, and a*-C color parameter can predict quickly and precisely the quality of O. ficus-indica

Estos dispositivos presentan bajas tasas de complicaciones y se utilizan habitualmente para administrar medicamentos como agentes quimioterapéuticos. La rotura espontánea de un segmento del catéter es una complicación mecánica infrecuente, que suele diagnosticarse tardíamente y presentar complicaciones. Presentamos un caso de rotura espontánea de un catéter de quimioterapia diagnosticado mediante un novedoso abordaje a través de proyecciones oblicuas en radiografías de tórax y extraído con éxito mediante un abordaje endovascular.Totally implanted central venous port systems are widely used to access central veins for patients needing long-term therapy.     Multiphase CT Angiography Improves Prediction of Intracerebral Hemorrhage Expansion

Materials and Methods This prospective observational cohort study included 123 consecutive patients with acute ICH (onset 33% or >6 mL) at 24 hours. Associations between the presence of the spot sign and substantial hematoma expansion were assessed by using the Pearson χ2 test. Results The later the phase of CT angiography, the higher the frequency of the spot sign. The spot sign was seen in 29.3% of patients in phase 1, 43.1% of patients in phase 2, and 46.3% of patients in phase 3 (P B > C > D > no spot sign (P = .002). Conclusion Multiphase CT angiography can help differentiate among different forms of spot sign presentation and can help stratify patients at risk for hematoma expansion. The more arterial the spot sign pattern, the greater the frequency and extent of expansion
