A Layout-Aware Circuit Sizing Model Using Parametric Analysis
We propose a circuit sizing model that takes layout parasitics into account. The circuit and layout parameters are stored in a parameterized layout description format, GBLD. The layout parasitics are stored as closed form expressions. Layout optimization tools can modify the layout and recalculate parasitics on the fly. If the results of sensitivity analysis are passed to those tools, optimization for performance can be achieved with relatively few iterations involving time consuming circuit simulations
GBLD: A Formal Model for Layout Description and Generation
In this paper, we introduce a layout description and generation model, GBLD, based on the notions and elements of L-systems and context-free grammars. Our layout model is compatible with geometric layout formats, such as GDSII or CIF. However, it is more powerful and more concise. The layouts represented by GBLD are sizeable, parameterised, and can incorporate design rules. GBLD has the potential to be used as a format for analog layout templates, analog layout retargeting, as well as the final layout format
The Optimization of Information Systems Outsourcing Strategies: A Constraint-Based Evolutionary Approach
Information systems (IS) outsourcing is an important issue of IS practices in organizations. To achieve better IS outsourcing performance, it is critical for organizations to develop appropriate outsourcing strategies. A prediction model is useful to forecast the possibility of a failure or to point out unforeseen problems. Based on a prediction model of IS outsourcing success, this study applied an constraint-based evolutionary approach for backward tracking the optimal values of organizational IS attributes that best approximate the target success level of IS outsourcing. One hundred forty-six real IS outsourcing cases, each with 22 features and 8 outcome features, are collected. The proposed system demonstrated that valuable suggestions can be made regarding the increase or decrease levels of adjustable IS attributes for organizations outsourcing their IS functions
Ultrafast all-optical switching via coherent modulation of metamaterial absorption
We report on the demonstration of a femtosecond all-optical modulator
providing, without nonlinearity and therefore at arbitrarily low intensity,
ultrafast light-by-light control. The device engages the coherent interaction
of optical waves on a metamaterial nanostructure only 30 nm thick to
efficiently control absorption of near-infrared (750-1040 nm) femtosecond
pulses, providing switching contrast ratios approaching 3:1 with a modulation
bandwidth in excess of 2 THz. The functional paradigm illustrated here opens
the path to a family of novel meta-devices for ultra-fast optical data
processing in coherent networks.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure
Quantum Criticality of 1D Attractive Fermi Gas
We obtain an analytical equation of state for one-dimensional strongly
attractive Fermi gas for all parameter regime in current experiments. From the
equation of state we derive universal scaling functions that control whole
thermodynamical properties in quantum critical regimes and illustrate physical
origin of quantum criticality. It turns out that the critical properties of the
system are described by these of free fermions and those of mixtures of
fermions with mass and . We also show how these critical properties of
bulk systems can be revealed from the density profile of trapped Fermi gas at
finite temperatures and can be used to determine the T=0 phase boundaries
without any arbitrariness.Comment: extended version, 9 pages, 7 eps figures, corrections of few typo
