A New Transmitted Reference Pulse Cluster Based Ultra-Wideband Transmitter Design

An energy efficient ultra-wideband (UWB) transmitter based on the novel transmitted reference pulse cluster (TRPC) modulation scheme is presented. The TRPC-UWB transmitter integrates, namely, wideband active baluns, wideband I-Q modulator based up-conversion mixer, and differential to single-ended converter. The integrated circuits of TRPC-UWB front end is designed and implemented in the 130-nm CMOS process technology. the measured worst-case carrier leakage suppression is 22.4 dBc, while the single sideband suppression is higher than 31.6 dBc, operating at the frequency from 3.1 GHz to 8.2 GHz. With adjustable data rate of 10 to 300 Mbps, the transmitter achieves a high energy efficiency of 38.4 pJ/pulse.Comment: 4 page, 8 figure

Expanding Person-to-Person Diplomacy with Overseas Chinese

In the current global context, with prominent multilateralism and multipolarity trends, China is seeing a rise in comprehensive strength and influence on the international stage. China has always upheld mutual respect, mutual benefits, and win-win situations for its diplomatic strategies and has launched the Belt and Road Initiative to actively unite neighboring countries and regions for common development and advancement. Person-to-person diplomacy is an important part of foreign affairs work, of which overseas Chinese are a force to be reckoned with. Overseas Chinese are also descendants of the Chinese nation, so it is easier to communicate with them concerning culture, language, characters, and ideas. Therefore, with Chinese in Indonesia as the research subjects, this paper provides a case study of the Confucius Institute jointly built by Xihua University and Universitas Sebelas Maret (Sebelas Maret University, UNS) to specifically explore how to expand person-to-person diplomacy, unite overseas Chinese, promote China-foreign exchanges and cooperation, and enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples with overseas Chinese as the bridge. Keywords: people-to-people diplomacy, confucius institute, overseas Chines

Deterministic learning enhanced neutral network control of unmanned helicopter

In this article, a neural network-based tracking controller is developed for an unmanned helicopter system with guaranteed global stability in the presence of uncertain system dynamics. Due to the coupling and modeling uncertainties of the helicopter systems, neutral networks approximation techniques are employed to compensate the unknown dynamics of each subsystem. In order to extend the semiglobal stability achieved by conventional neural control to global stability, a switching mechanism is also integrated into the control design, such that the resulted neural controller is always valid without any concern on either initial conditions or range of state variables. In addition, deterministic learning is applied to the neutral network learning control, such that the adaptive neutral networks are able to store the learned knowledge that could be reused to construct neutral network controller with improved control performance. Simulation studies are carried out on a helicopter model to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control design
