Tests of Ocean-Tide Models by Analysis of Satellite-To-Satellite Range Measurements: An Update
Seven years of GRACE intersatellite range-rate measurements are used to test the new ocean tide model FES2014 and to compare against similar results obtained with earlier models. These qualitative assessments show that FES2014 represents a marked improvement in accuracy over its earlier incarnation, FES2012, with especially notable improvements in the Arctic Ocean for constituents K(sub 1) and S(sub 2). Degradation appears to have occurred in two anomalous regions: the Ross Sea for the O(sub 1) constituent and the Weddell Sea for M(sub 2)
The Science Performance of JWST as Characterized in Commissioning
This paper characterizes the actual science performance of the James Webb
Space Telescope (JWST), as determined from the six month commissioning period.
We summarize the performance of the spacecraft, telescope, science instruments,
and ground system, with an emphasis on differences from pre-launch
expectations. Commissioning has made clear that JWST is fully capable of
achieving the discoveries for which it was built. Moreover, almost across the
board, the science performance of JWST is better than expected; in most cases,
JWST will go deeper faster than expected. The telescope and instrument suite
have demonstrated the sensitivity, stability, image quality, and spectral range
that are necessary to transform our understanding of the cosmos through
observations spanning from near-earth asteroids to the most distant galaxies.Comment: 5th version as accepted to PASP; 31 pages, 18 figures;

Job Rating and Satisfaction of Radio Station General Managers in the Institutional Climate of Deregulation
This study tested the job satisfaction of major market radio station general managers in the aftermath of deregulation. The study consisted of two phases, a quantitative, anonymous, mail survey utilizing the nationally recognized Job Descriptive Index (JDI); and a qualitative follow-up telephone interview. Of 246 general managers solicited, 144 returned usable JDI surveys. The JDI consisted of six separate scales, each measuring satisfaction on a different aspect of the job. The followup telephone interview comprised seven questions designed specifically to explore the effects of broadcast deregulation on the respondents. Two hypotheses were tested. The hypotheses tested for differences in job satisfaction scores between radio station general managers and the normative scores of individuals of similar education and job tenure in other industries. In most of the subscales tested there was no significant difference between the two groups. The qualitative telephone survey found widespread dissatisfaction with the effects of deregulation on the broadcast medium
The Lean Six Sigma Define, Measure, Analyze, Implement, Control (LSS DMAIC) Framework: An Innovative Strategy for Quality Improvement of Pharmacist Vaccine Recommendations in Community Pharmacy
Community pharmacies represent a highly accessible and convenient setting for vaccination. However, setting-specific barriers exist which contribute to suboptimal vaccination rates, particularly for pneumococcal vaccinations. One proven quality improvement framework growing in use within healthcare settings is Lean Six Sigma (LSS). This paper describes the application of the LSS framework in select locations of a national pharmacy chain. The implementation of a training program for improved recommendation techniques to promote higher rates of pneumococcal vaccinations in high-risk adult populations is also addressed. A mixed-methods approach including pre/post quasi-experimental design and in-depth key informant interviews was used
