    Se rivalida el genero Cubobolus Chamberlin (1918) para Cuba; en el se incluyen algunas especies ubicadas anteriormente en Rhinocricus Karsch (1881) y Anadenobolus Silvestri (1897): Cubobolus sagittatus (Loomis 1938), Cubobolus pertenuis (Loomis 1938), Cubobolus sinuosus (Loomis 1938), y Cubobolus perplicatus (Loomis 1938). Se describen ademas seis nuevas especies: Cubobolus potrerillo, C. escambray, C. dentatus, C.jibacoa, C. monitongo, y C. cuba. Se comenta la exclusion, hasta el momento, de representantes del genero Anadenobolus en la isla de Cuba.The genus Cubobolus Chamberlin (1918) is revalidated for Cuba. Six new species (Cubobolus potrerillo, C. escambray, C. dentatus, C. jibacoa, C. monitongo, and C. cuba) are described. Some species, previously in Rhinocricus Karsh (1881) and Anadenobolus Silvestri (1897), are assigned to Cubobolus: C. sagittatus (Loomis 1938), C. sinuosus (Loomis 1938), and C. perplicatus (Loomis, 1938).     A re-evaluation of the milliped genus Motyxia Chamberlin : with a re-diagnosis of the tribe Xystocheirini and remarks on the bioluminescence (Polydesmida: Xystodesmidae)

    Motyxia Chamberlin is comprised of eight species of bioluminescent xystocheirine millipeds in which the gonopodal solenomere arises at different positions, from basally and subbasally on the acropodite to being fused with the companion acropodal branch and detaching proximad or near midlength. Previous synonymies of Amplocheir Chamberlin and LuminodeslnllS Loomis and Davenport under Motyxia are confirmed as is its assignment to the tribe Xystocheirini, which is redefined. Component species are 111. Iwnw Chamberlin, the type species, monica Chamberlin, sequoiae (Loomis and Davenport), tularea (Chamberlin), sequoia (Chamberlin), pior Chamberlin, porrecta Causey and Tiemann, and tiemanni Causey. Motyxia sequoia is comprised oftwo races, the nominate and sequoia alia Causey and Tiemann; sequoia ollae Causey and Tiemann is properly a subspecies of tularea. 1I1otyxiapiorform secea is an invalid name without standing in nomenclature, and M. tejona Chamberlin, and M. expansa and exilis, both by Loomis, are placed in synonymy under M. monica, the oldest name for the southernmost species, as Polydesllws dissectus Wood is referrable to Xystocheir Cook. The bioluminescence is a continuous, neon-white glow of the entire dorsal surface including the antennae and legs. Its visibility at night suggests a warning function analogous to aposematic coloration. The phenomenon may observe a circadian rhythm, and controlled photoperiod experimentation may be productive

Courts and Departments of Corrections have also sought to employ similar tools. However, the use of data analytics in sentencing raises a host of constitutional concerns. In State v. Loomis, the Wisconsin Supreme Court was faced with whether the use of an actuarial risk assessment tool based on a proprietary formula violates a defendant’s right to due process where the defendant could not review how the various inputs were weighed. The opinion attempts to save a constitutionally dubious technique and reads as a warning to lower courts in the proper use of predictive analytics.     Various results are proved giving lower bounds for the mmth intrinsic volume Vm(K)V_m(K), m=1,…,n−1m=1,\dots,n-1, of a compact convex set KK in Rn{\mathbb{R}}^n, in terms of the mmth intrinsic volumes of its projections on the coordinate hyperplanes (or its intersections with the coordinate hyperplanes). The bounds are sharp when m=1m=1 and m=n−1m=n-1. These are reverse (or dual, respectively) forms of the Loomis-Whitney inequality and versions of it that apply to intrinsic volumes. For the intrinsic volume V1(K)V_1(K), which corresponds to mean width, the inequality obtained confirms a conjecture of Betke and McMullen made in 1983
