Accurate lithofacies-paleogeographic reconstruction is of great significance in predicting the dolomite reservoir distribution of the middle assemblage of Ordovician Majiagou Fm in the Ordos Basin. In this paper, the controlling effects of palaeotectonic background over sedimentation were first analyzed. Then the sedimentary mode of the middle assemblage was established and the lithofacies-paleogeography was reconstructed objectively for three intervals (Ma55, Ma57 and Ma59), based on the observation results of a large number of drilling cores and rock sections, together with the results of logging interpretation of rock composition and structure, single factor maps analysis and seismic data interpretation. The following findings were obtained. First, the middle assemblage of Majiagou Fm presents the uplift-depression alternation; two secondary low uplift zones extending in NS, i.e. Wushen Banner–Wuqi and Shenmu–Yulin–Yan'an, are developed in the eastern side of the central paleo-uplift, between which there is intraplatform depression, and lagoons are deposited in the Mizhi area in the east of the basin. Second, in the Ordos Basin, four NE-trending rift troughs are developed in the Proterozoic, which greatly affects the Ordovician sedimentary pattern and controls the distribution of intraplatform grain banks. Third, influenced jointly by the uplift-depression alternation and the intraplatform rift troughs of the Proterozoic, the intraplatform grain banks in the middle assemblage are mainly developed in the two low uplift zones, i.e. Shenmu–Yulin–Yan'an and Wushen Banner–Wuqi, trending NE in a similar echelon distribution. In conclusion, the two low uplift zones are the main development areas for high-quality carbonate reservoirs within the middle assemblage of Majiagou Fm in the basin

Bitter orange, Citrus aurantium L. var. amara (CAVA), is an important crop and its flowers and fruits are widely used in China as a food spice, as well as in traditional Chinese medicine, due to its health-promoting properties. The secondary metabolites that are present in plant-derived foods or medicines are, in part, responsible for the health benefits and desirable flavor profiles. Nevertheless, detailed information about the bioactive ingredients in CAVA is scarce. Therefore, this study was aimed at exploring the phytochemicals of CAVA by high performance liquid chromatography/quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (HPLC-Q-TOF-MS). Here, a systematic screening method combined with HPLC-Q-TOF-MS was presented. This technique was used to systematically screen metabolites, primarily from the complex matrix of CAVA, and to identify these compounds by their exact masses, characteristic fragment ions, and fragmentation behaviors. A total of 295 metabolites were screened by the screening method and 89 phytochemicals were identified in the flowers, fruits, roots, leaves, and branches of CAVA. For the first time, 69 phytochemicals (flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids, etc.) were reported from CAVA. The results highlight the importance of CAVA as a source of secondary metabolites in the food, medicine, and nutraceutical industries

OBJECTIVE: The combination of mifepristone and misoprostol is an established method for induction of early first trimester abortion, but there is no consensus about the best evaluation of treatment outcome. We evaluate serum Angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) and β human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG) in women who had undergone a medical abortion as markers of prolonged uterine bleeding (PUB). METHODS: Prospective trial involving 2843 women attending an gynecology outpatient clinic who following a medical abortion with mifepristone and misoprostol, the study cohort was divided into women with duration of uterine bleeding >14 days (PUB) and women with duration of uterine bleeding ≤14 days (normal uterine bleeding, NUB). Serum determinations of Ang-2 levels by ELISA and β-hCG levels by electrochemiluminiscence immunoassay. Receiver Operating Characteristics (ROC) analyses were calculated and plotted for the diagnostic accuracy of serum β-hCG and Ang-2 concentration to discriminate PUB and NUB. RESULTS: Baseline characteristics for both groups were similar, Only duration of bleeding showed a significant difference between the PUB group and NUB group. Ang-2 serum levels moderately correlated with serum β-hCG levels with statistically significant correlation coefficients of 0.536. Serum β-hCG and Ang-2 levels on day 7 and on day 14 after medical abortion were signifcantly higher in PUB group than in NUB group. Plotted as ROC curves, β-hCG area under curve (AUC) was 0.65 (95% CI, 0.53-0.76) on day 7, rising to AUC = 0.83 (95% CI, 0.75-0.92) on day 14. Using Ang-2 on day 7 and day 14 as predictive parameter resulted in an analogous AUC (AUC = 0.61 on day 7, AUC = 0.78 on day 14). CONCLUSIONS: Both parameters are clinically useful as a diagnostic test in predicting PUB after medical abortion, and can be helpful in uncertain clinical situations, but should be considered as supplementary to a general clinical evaluation

Analysis of Air Purification Methods in Operating Rooms of Chinese Hospitals

This research demonstrates the current use of air purification methods in the operating rooms (ORs) in China. 154 hospitals from 6 provinces were included in this survey to reflect the air purification methods of ORs in 2017. Air cleaning technology (ACT) is used in 124 (80.52%) hospitals. We find that the rates of using grade I, III, or IV clean operating room (COR) in tertiary hospitals are all higher than in lower level hospitals; the rate of using ACT in the ORs is higher, too. In addition, general hospitals have higher rate in using ACT in the ORs than specialized hospitals. The highest rate of using ACT in the ORs is in the eastern region of China. The number of hospitals using ACT, ultraviolet light disinfection, and air sterilizers (such as circulating air UV sterilizer) increased yearly. All grades of CORs can be maintained as required by more than 90% hospitals except grade II COR. In this research, we found air purification methods, especially the ACT, are widely used in hospitals’ ORs. However, finding the way to select and use different air purification methods correctly is an urgent problem to be solved next

TSTA3 overexpression promotes malignant characteristics in LUSC by regulating LAMP2-mediated autophagy and tumor microenvironment

Abstract Background TSTA3 gene encoding GDP-l-fucose synthase has recently been proved to be closely related to the prognosis of patients with various tumors. However, its role in lung cancer is still unclear. The purpose of this study is to explore the expression level, prognostic effect, potential function and mechanism of TSTA3 in lung cancer. Methods Based on TCGA database, Kaplan–Meier and COX regression was used to analyze the relationship between TSTA3 expression and prognosis of lung cancer patients. Immunohistochemistry was used to determine the TSTA3 protein expression in lung cancer and normal tissues. The function of TSTA3 in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC) cell was determined by CCK8, colony formation, transwell assay in vitro and subcutaneous xenografts in vivo. Transcriptome analysis, Lyso-Tracker Red staining and rescue experiment were used to explore the possible underlying mechanism. Results The expression of TSTA3 was significantly increased in lung cancer, especially in LUSC, and was significantly correlated with the malignant characteristics of LUSC. COX regression analysis showed that the high expression of TSTA3 was an independent prognostic factor in LUSC patients. This was also confirmed by immunohistochemical staining. Compared with the control group, the proliferation, colony formation, invasion and migration ability of LUSC cells with TSTA3 overexpression was enhanced. Similarly, the ability of cell proliferation, colony formation, invasion and migration were weakened after transient knockdown of TSTA3. In vivo experiment showed that compared with control group, TSTA3 overexpression significantly promoted the growth of tumor and shortened survival time. In addition, transcriptome sequencing analysis showed that the differentially expressed genes between TSTA3 overexpression and control group was mainly concentrated in the lysosome pathway. Further study found that TSTA3 might affect the proliferation, invasion and migration of LUSC by regulating the expression of lysosome-associated membrane protein 2 (LAMP2) in LUSC. Conclusion The expression level of TSTA3 in LUSC is significantly higher than that in normal tissues. High expression of TSTA3 is associated with poor prognosis of LUSC patients. TSTA3 may affect the proliferation, invasion and migration of LUSC by regulating LAMP2

Residents' health is the basic condition for economic and social development. At present, China's environmental pollution problem is becoming increasingly serious, which not only hinders sustainable economic and social development, but also poses a major threat to public health. Therefore, based on the carbon emissions trading policy implemented in China, this paper explores this policy's impact on residents' health using the DID model and illustrates the moderating effect of environmental pollution. The results show that (1) carbon emissions trading policies can promote the improvement of residents' health; (2) the effect is stronger for western regions and provinces with smaller population sizes after taking control variables into consideration; and (3) environmental pollution has a significant moderating effect on the relationship between carbon emissions trading and residents' health. This research serves as an important reference for expanding the scope of the policy pilot, reducing pollutant emissions, and improving the health of the population.</p
