Served as Social Actors or Instrumental Role? Understanding the Usage of Smart Product from the Dual Processing Perspective

    Get PDF
Based on the Dual processing theory, this study proposes that customers form their decision of smart products usage through two paths of: emotional and functional, at the same time. These paths are related to two types of behavior modes: affect-oriented which reflects the emotional or psychological demands we need, and the task-oriented which reflects essential needs for us to make use of these products. The behavior modes, represented by anthropomorphism cues and functional cues respectively, influence different kinds of trust, affect-based and cognition-based, and then determine the usage of smart products. The results will be examine through data collection in the near future. And we hope that the results could unravel several important findings and bring some managerial implications for manufacturers to improve their products

Invariant subspaces and exact solutions of a class of dispersive evolution equations

a b s t r a c t The invariant subspace method is used to classify a class of systems of nonlinear dispersive evolution equations and determine their invariant subspaces and exact solutions. A crucial step is to take subspaces of solutions to linear ordinary differential equations as invariant subspaces that systems of evolution equations admit. A few examples of presenting exact solutions with generalized separated variables illustrate the effectiveness of the invariant subspace method in solving systems of nonlinear evolution equations

Characteristic analysis of lightning activities on the Yungui Plateau using ground-based remote sensing

The spatiotemporal distribution of cloud-to-ground (CG) lightning activities on the Yungui Plateau is investigated in this study by using a 5-year dataset (2016–2020) from the ground-based National Lightning Detection Network (CNLDN). The correlations between the lightning activities and different meteorological factors in the region are also analyzed. The results show that there is an obvious difference in the spatial distribution of lightning activities on the Yungui Plateau during the 5 years, with high lightning density in the east and low lightning density in the west. The lightning activities shift and gather more towards the eastern plateau especially after 2019. Affected by the quasi-stationary front in Kunming, the spatial distributions of lightning flashes in cold and warm seasons are different. On the other hand, the frequency of the lightning activities varies from year to year, such as the surge in 2019. But in general, 62% of the lightning activities are produced in summer and the lightning flashes occur more often in the afternoon and evening on the Yungui Plateau. Additionally, it is found that lightning activities in the 5 years are closely related to precipitation and temperature, while there is a weak correlation with relative humidity and almost no correlation with sensible heat flux. The analysis also indicates that the CAPE×P (convective available potential energy times precipitation rate) proxy can be effectively used to describe and predict lightning activities on the Yungui Plateau as the lightning flashes corresponds well to CAPE×P, especially of the spatial distribution

TLR5 signaling enhances the proliferation of human allogeneic CD40-activated B cell induced CD4hiCD25+ regulatory T cells

Although diverse functions of different toll-like receptors (TLR) on human natural regulatory T cells have been demonstrated recently, the role of TLR-related signals on human induced regulatory T cells remain elusive. Previously our group developed an ex vivo high-efficient system in generating human alloantigen-specific CD4(hi)CD25(+) regulatory T cells from naive CD4(+)CD25(-) T cells using allogeneic CD40-activated B cells as stimulators. In this study, we investigated the role of TLR5-related signals on the generation and function of these novel CD4(hi)CD25(+) regulatory T cells. It was found that induced CD4(hi)CD25(+) regulatory T cells expressed an up-regulated level of TLR5 compared to their precursors. The blockade of TLR5 using anti-TLR5 antibodies during the co-culture decreased CD4(hi)CD25(+) regulatory T cells proliferation by induction of S phase arrest. The S phase arrest was associated with reduced ERK1/2 phosphorylation. However, TLR5 blockade did not decrease the CTLA-4, GITR and FOXP3 expressions, and the suppressive function of CD4(hi)CD25(+) regulatory T cells. In conclusion, we discovered a novel function of TLR5-related signaling in enhancing the proliferation of CD4(hi)CD25(+) regulatory T cells by promoting S phase progress but not involved in the suppressive function of human CD40-activated B cell-induced CD4(hi)CD25(+) regulatory T cells, suggesting a novel role of TLR5-related signals in the generation of induced regulatory T cells.published_or_final_versio

Linear active disturbance rejection control for large onshore wind turbines in full wind speed range

    Get PDF
To achieve real-time estimation and compensation of total system disturbances and improve the control performance of wind turbines under complex turbulent wind conditions, three one-order LADRCs were used to reconstruct the wind turbine core control system. A dynamic variable limit LADRC was designed for torque control, a minimum limit LADRC was applied in pitch control, and a LADRC power controller was designed for decoupling torque and pitch control. The stability of the LADRCs was proven using the Lyapunov method. According to the transfer function of wind turbines and empirical equations, the parameters of each LADRC were tuned. Based on the hardware-in-loop simulation (HILS) test platform, the control algorithm of look-up table, PID, RISC, and LADRC were constructed by PLC language. Through comparative studies, it was verified that the algorithm proposed in this paper can reduce generator rotor speed and power fluctuations by about 13.6% and 1.7% at least, and it can also reduce the blade root load force

Gate-Tunable Critical Current of the Three-Dimensional Niobium Nano-Bridge Josephson Junction

Recent studies have shown that the critical currents of several metallic superconducting nanowires and Dayem bridges can be locally tuned using a gate voltage {V_g}. Here, we report a gate-tunable Josephson junction structure constructed from a three-dimensional (3D) niobium nano-bridge junction (NBJ) with a voltage gate on top. Measurements up to 6 K showed that the critical current of this structure can be tuned to zero by increasing {V_g}. The critical gate voltage Vgc was reduced to 16 V and may possibly be reduced further by reducing the thickness of the insulation layer between the gate and the NBJ. Furthermore, the flux modulation generated by Josephson interference of two parallel 3D NBJs can also be tuned using {V_g} in a similar manner. Therefore, we believe that this gate-tunable Josephson junction structure is promising for superconducting circuit fabrication at high integration levels.Comment: 15 pages, 5 figure
