Distinct requirements of wls, wnt9a, wnt5b and gpc4 in regulating chondrocyte maturation and timing of endochondral ossification
Formation of the mandible requires progressive morphologic change, proliferation, differentiation and organization of chondrocytes preceding osteogenesis. The Wnt signaling pathway is involved in regulating bone development and maintenance. Chondrocytes that are fated to become bone require Wnt to polarize and orientate appropriately to initiate the endochondral ossification program. Although the canonical Wnt signaling has been well studied in the context of bone development, the effects of non-canonical Wnt signaling in regulating the timing of cartilage maturation and subsequent bone formation in shaping ventral craniofacial structure is not fully understood.. Here we examined the role of the non-canonical Wnt signaling pathway (wls, gpc4, wnt5b and wnt9a) in regulating zebrafish Meckel's cartilage maturation to the onset of osteogenic differentiation. We found that disruption of wls resulted in a significant loss of craniofacial bone, whereas lack of gpc4, wnt5b and wnt9a resulted in severely delayed endochondral ossification. Exploring the value co-destruction model for on-line deviant behaviors of hotel customers
© 2019 Elsevier Ltd This study aims to build a value co-destruction model by exploring the online deviant behavior of hotel customers. Desire for revenge and desire for recovery are considered mediators. Hotel guests in notable Taiwan locations were surveyed via the Internet (no. = 601 valid responses). This study finds that negative emotion indirectly impacts negative electronic word of mouth (eWOM) with desire for revenge as a mediator. Furthermore, desire for recovery has the potential to mitigate the impact of negative emotion on negative eWOM. However, the desire for recovery is less intense than the desire for revenge. Based on these findings, this study concludes that emotion, by itself, does not result in action. Respondents only commit negative eWOM because they want to hurt the firm that wronged them. Respondents are also willing to entertain the idea of service recovery. However, desire for revenge is a stronger mediating factor
Frustrated two-dimensional Josephson junction array near incommensurability
To study the properties of frustrated two-dimensional Josephson junction
arrays near incommensurability, we examine the current-voltage characteristics
of a square proximity-coupled Josephson junction array at a sequence of
frustrations f=3/8, 8/21, 0.382 , 2/5, and 5/12.
Detailed scaling analyses of the current-voltage characteristics reveal
approximately universal scaling behaviors for f=3/8, 8/21, 0.382, and 2/5. The
approximately universal scaling behaviors and high superconducting transition
temperatures indicate that both the nature of the superconducting transition
and the vortex configuration near the transition at the high-order rational
frustrations f=3/8, 8/21, and 0.382 are similar to those at the nearby simple
frustration f=2/5. This finding suggests that the behaviors of Josephson
junction arrays in the wide range of frustrations might be understood from

Primary recovery of lipase derived from Burkholderia sp. ST8 with aqueous micellar two-phase system
The partitioning and recovery of lipase derived from Burkholderia sp. ST8 strain was explored using temperature-induced aqueous micellar two-phase system (AMTPS) composed of single nonionic surfactant. Nonionic surfactant Triton X-114 and Pluronic series (triblock copolymer) were evaluated in terms of their clouding phenomenon (cloud-point temperature) and the performance of the lipase partitioning in these AMTPSs. Pluronic L81 showed the most optimum partition efficiency for the recovery of lipase to the micellar phase of the AMTPS. Based on the AMTPS which consisted of 24 (w/w) Pluronic L81 and 0.5 (w/w) potassium chloride (KCl), the selectivity of lipase partitioned to bottom phase has been enhanced to 0.035 and the lipase was purified 7.2 fold. Furthermore, the lipase from the micellar phase was consecutively extracted to a new aqueous solution, with an aim of removing the surfactant from the purified lipase. It was attained by replacing the aqueous top phase from the primary recovery of AMTPS with a new potassium thiocyanate (KSCN) solution. The lipase was then recovered in the newly formed bottom aqueous phase which culminated in the yield of 89 and partition coefficients of 0.34 and 4.50 for lipase and surfactant, respectively. AMTPS offers a convenient and efficient method for the primary recovery of lipase with low cost, large loading capacity and the potential of linear scale up. © 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved

rather than to motion of single vortices
Atypical SARS in Geriatric Patient
We describe an atypical presentation of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in a geriatric patient with multiple coexisting conditions. Interpretation of radiographic changes was confounded by cardiac failure, with resolution of fever causing delayed diagnosis and a cluster of cases. SARS should be considered even if a contact history is unavailable, during an ongoing outbreak
D* Production in Deep Inelastic Scattering at HERA
This paper presents measurements of D^{*\pm} production in deep inelastic
scattering from collisions between 27.5 GeV positrons and 820 GeV protons. The
data have been taken with the ZEUS detector at HERA. The decay channel
(+ c.c.) has been used in the study. The
cross section for inclusive D^{*\pm} production with
and is 5.3 \pms 1.0 \pms 0.8 nb in the kinematic region
{ GeV and }. Differential cross
sections as functions of p_T(D^{*\pm}), and are
compared with next-to-leading order QCD calculations based on the photon-gluon
fusion production mechanism. After an extrapolation of the cross section to the
full kinematic region in p_T(D^{*\pm}) and (D^{*\pm}), the charm
contribution to the proton structure function is

Observation of Scaling Violations in Scaled Momentum Distributions at HERA
Charged particle production has been measured in deep inelastic scattering
(DIS) events over a large range of and using the ZEUS detector. The
evolution of the scaled momentum, , with in the range 10 to 1280
, has been investigated in the current fragmentation region of the Breit
frame. The results show clear evidence, in a single experiment, for scaling

Observation of hard scattering in photoproduction events with a large rapidity gap at HERA
Events with a large rapidity gap and total transverse energy greater than 5
GeV have been observed in quasi-real photoproduction at HERA with the ZEUS
detector. The distribution of these events as a function of the
centre of mass energy is consistent with diffractive scattering. For total
transverse energies above 12 GeV, the hadronic final states show predominantly
a two-jet structure with each jet having a transverse energy greater than 4
GeV. For the two-jet events, little energy flow is found outside the jets. This
observation is consistent with the hard scattering of a quasi-real photon with
