    Scale Factor Self-Dual Cosmological Models

We implement a conformal time scale factor duality for Friedmann-Robertson-Walker cosmological models, which is consistent with the weak energy condition. The requirement for self-duality determines the equations of state for a broad class of barotropic fluids. We study the example of a universe filled with two interacting fluids, presenting an accelerated and a decelerated period, with manifest UV/IR duality. The associated self-dual scalar field interaction turns out to coincide with the "radiation-like" modified Chaplygin gas models. We present an equivalent realization of them as gauged K\"ahler sigma models (minimally coupled to gravity) with very specific and interrelated K\"ahler- and super-potentials. Their applications in the description of hilltop inflation and also as quintessence models for the late universe are discussed.Comment: v3, improved and extended version to be published in JHEP; new results added to sect.2; 4 figures; 17pg

Remote sensing has been widely used in Geological Sciences for different applications, such as to identify geological and mineralogical objects and surface alteration changes. This study aimed to analyze the Sentinel-2 potential to detect pegmatite bodies and associated alteration zones in Muiane and Naipa in Mozambique. Different remote sensing techniques were applied to a Sentinel-2 image: RGB combinations, band ratios, principal component analysis (PCA), and supervised image classification algorithms such as the Maximum Likelihood Classifier (MLC) and Support Vector Machine (SVM). MLC was used as a benchmark classifier to evaluate the performance of SVM because MLC is the predominant algorithm employed in remote sensing classification studies. For that, several statistical metrics based on the confusion matrices were computed, namely accuracy, Kappa index, precision, recall, and f-score, among others. This study allows identifying the location of pegmatites by direct identification and segregating between hydrothermally altered zones and non-altered areas through remote sensing data/techniques, supported by field data. The field campaigns allowed for validating the results obtained and verifying the pegmatites identified using Sentinel-2 data that were not previously mapped. Moreover, reflectance spectroscopy studies in the laboratory were conducted on the samples collected in the field campaigns allow to validate the adequacy of the methodology proposed in this study. The results show that the precise identification of pegmatite targets requires a high spatial resolution such as Sentinel-2 images. Thus, with the integration of high spatial and spectral resolution data, a potential level of precision and accuracy can be achieved in the study areas

Environment classification in multiagent systems inspired by the adaptive immune system

The adaptive immune system in vertebrates is a complex, distributed, adaptive system capable of effecting collective mul-ticellular responses. Our study introduces many of the desirable properties of this biological system to decentralized multiagent systems. We adopt the crossregulation model of the adaptive immune system involving interactions between effector and regulatory cells. Effector cells can mount beneficial immune responses to microbial antigens as well as pathologic autoimmune responses to self-antigens. Deleterious autoimmunity is prevented by regulatory cells that suppress the effectors to tolerate the self-antigens. We redeploy the crossregulation model within a multiagent system by letting each agent run an ODE-based instance of the model. Results of extensive simulation-based experiments demonstrate that a distributed multiagent system can mount different responses to distinct objects in their environment. These responses are solely a result of the dynamics between virtual cells in each agent and interactions between neighboring agents. The collective dynamics gives rise to a meaningful "self"- "nonself" classification of the environment by individual agent, even if these categories were not prescribed a priori in the agents.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
