    A product is an artifact that mirroring the culture it expressed and also the changing agent of the same culture. In the case of consumerism, a product perform as a sign that is being manipulated for marketing communication. In Profanisation and Sacralization phenomenon the ideological identity that was formed in religion is now being contended in consumerism through the exploitation of the value of the sacred and the profane in an object. This research will be conducted in using marketing semiotic and ethnography to analyze the problem through the eye of the market. Based on the analysis and the review conducted, this research concludes a relation that links between a product design, religion and consumerism in the context of the phenomenon. This relation can be summed up as a market opportunity in faith-based design

    Optimization of Polymer Separation by Gradient Polymer Elution Chromatography

    High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) has been a versatile separation method for polymers for many years. Analysis of different polymers by HPLC is typically done by utilizing the differential solubility of the polymers by mixing a good solvent and an anti-solvent in various compositions. This method is called Gradient Polymer Elution Chromatography (GPEC). While GPEC has been used extensively, it commonly uses a linear gradient to separate components. Linear solvent gradients consume a lot of solvent and take a relatively long time (\u3e 30 minutes) to complete. The goal of this study is to develop a step gradient from a linear gradient in order to allow quick separation while retaining high resolution of the individual polymers. In this study, 6 different polymers are dissolved separately in a strong solvent. The polymers are then analyzed using a linear gradient. Using the results from the linear gradient, a step gradient is constructed and a known mixture of the pure polymers is analyzed to determine the effectiveness of the step gradient. Two strong solvents and four anti-solvents were used to test the generality of the results. It was found that the step gradient could achieve the same resolution of polymers as the linear gradient, but with as little as half the solvent in some cases. This analytical method of changing a linear gradient into a step gradient can reduce both analysis time and solvent requirement to achieve the desired separation of polymers

    Logarithmic interaction under periodic boundary conditions: Closed form formulas for energy and forces

    A method is given to obtain closed form formulas for the energy and forces for an aggregate of charges interacting via a logarithmic interaction under periodic boundary conditions. The work done here is a generalization of Glasser's results [M. L. Glasser, J. Math. Phys. 15, 188 (1974)] and is obtained with a different and simpler method than that by Stremler [M. A. Stremler, J. Math. Phys. 45, 3584 (2004)]. The simplicity of the formulas derived here makes them extremely convenient in a computer simulation

    Yukawa potentials in systems with partial periodic boundary conditions II : Lekner sums for quasi-two dimensional systems

    Yukawa potentials may be long ranged when the Debye screening length is large. In computer simulations, such long ranged potentials have to be taken into account with convenient algorithms to avoid systematic bias in the sampling of the phase space. Recently, we have provided Ewald sums for quasi-two dimensional systems with Yukawa interaction potentials [M. Mazars, {\it J. Chem. Phys.}, {\bf 126}, 056101 (2007) and M. Mazars, {\it Mol. Phys.}, Paper I]. Sometimes, Lekner sums are used as an alternative to Ewald sums for Coulomb systems. In the present work, we derive the Lekner sums for quasi-two dimensional systems with Yukawa interaction potentials and we give some numerical tests for pratical implementations. The main result of this paper is to outline that Lekner sums cannot be considered as an alternative to Ewald sums for Yukawa potentials. As a conclusion to this work : Lekner sums should not be used for quasi-two dimensional systems with Yukawa interaction potentials.Comment: 25 pages, 5 figures and 1 tabl

    Momentum Investing Strategy In Idx: An Experiment

    This research aims to test whether the Momentum investing strategy is better than passive investing strategy. The research method used is experiment design. The population observed is Kompas100 shares. The sample is filtered using several iterations based on the market performance as the momentum points and other fundamental factors to form optimal portfolios. The data used is the quarterly data. The t-test and Mann-Whitney means difference tests are performed to assess the differences of the results of momentum strategy and the market. The results show that momentum strategy provides higher returns than the market does.This experiment suggests that momentum investing strategy is applicable in IDX
