Magnetic Component of Quark-Gluon Plasma
We describe recent developments of the "magnetic scenario" of sQGP. We show
that at there is a dense plasma of monopoles, capable of
supporting metastable flux tubes. Their existence allows to quantitatively
explained the non-trivial -dependence of the static potential
energy calculated on the lattice. By molecular dynamics simulation we derived
transport properties (shear viscosity and diffusion constant) and showed that
the best liquid is given by most symmetric plasma, with 50%-50% of electric and
magnetic charges. The results are close to those of the ``perfect liquid''
observed at RHIC.Comment: Contribution to the 20th International Conference on Nucleus Nucleus

Two-dimensional gases of generalized statistics in a uniform magnetic field
We study the low temperature properties of two-dimensional ideal gases of
generalized statistics in a uniform magnetic field. The generalized statistics
considered here are the parafermion statistics and the exclusion statistics.
Similarity in the behaviours of the parafermion gas of finite order and the
gas with exclusion coefficient at very low temperatures is noted. These
two systems become exactly equivalent at . Qumtum Hall effect with these
particles as charge carriers is briefly discussed.Comment: Latex file, 14 pages, 5 figures available on reques

Secukinumab in the treatment of psoriasis: patient selection and perspectives.
Secukinumab is a human monoclonal antibody targeting IL-17A that has been approved for three indications: moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. In Phase III clinical trials for each of these three indications, secukinumab has proven to be both highly efficacious and well-tolerated. However, several biologic medications are currently approved for the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, and many demonstrate excellent efficacy and safety. Due to this wide selection, it is often unclear how to choose biologics for specific patients. Important considerations in biologic selection include clinical efficacy, safety, cost, convenience, onset of action, and management of comorbid disease. This article aims to outline the key considerations in patient selection for the treatment of plaque psoriasis with secukinumab

Profile of tildrakizumab-asmn in the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis: evidence to date.
Plaque psoriasis is an immune-mediated skin disease that affects roughly 3% of adults in the United States. Advances over the past 20 years in understanding the immune-mediated pathophysiology of psoriasis have led to the development of targeted biologic therapies for this condition. Currently, biologic medications approved for the treatment of plaque psoriasis include tumor necrosis factor α inhibitors, interleukin (IL)-17 or IL-17 receptor inhibitors, IL-12/23 inhibitors, and IL-23 inhibitors. Tildrakizumab-asmn is a monoclonal antibody that targets the p19 subunit of IL-23 and is approved for use in adult patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy. This article reviews the current pharmacologic, efficacy, and safety data on tildrakizumab-asmn
Some Issues in a Gauge Model of Unparticles
We address in a recent gauge model of unparticles the issues that are
important for consistency of a gauge theory, i.e., unitarity and Ward identity
of physical amplitudes. We find that non-integrable singularities arise in
physical quantities like cross section and decay rate from gauge interactions
of unparticles. We also show that Ward identity is violated due to the lack of
a dispersion relation for charged unparticles although the Ward-Takahashi
identity for general Green functions is incorporated in the model. A previous
observation that the unparticle's (with scaling dimension d) contribution to
the gauge boson self-energy is a factor (2-d) of the particle's has been
extended to the Green function of triple gauge bosons. This (2-d) rule may be
generally true for any point Green functions of gauge bosons. This implies that
the model would be trivial even as one that mimics certain dynamical effects on
gauge bosons in which unparticles serve as an interpolating field.Comment: v1:16 pages, 3 figures. v2: some clarifications made and presentation

Hole burning in a nanomechanical resonator coupled to a Cooper pair box
We propose a scheme to create holes in the statistical distribution of
excitations of a nanomechanical resonator. It employs a controllable coupling
between this system and a Cooper pair box. The success probability and the
fidelity are calculated and compared with those obtained in the atom-field
system via distinct schemes. As an application we show how to use the
hole-burning scheme to prepare (low excited) Fock states.Comment: 7 pages, 10 figure
Towards Semantic Fast-Forward and Stabilized Egocentric Videos
The emergence of low-cost personal mobiles devices and wearable cameras and
the increasing storage capacity of video-sharing websites have pushed forward a
growing interest towards first-person videos. Since most of the recorded videos
compose long-running streams with unedited content, they are tedious and
unpleasant to watch. The fast-forward state-of-the-art methods are facing
challenges of balancing the smoothness of the video and the emphasis in the
relevant frames given a speed-up rate. In this work, we present a methodology
capable of summarizing and stabilizing egocentric videos by extracting the
semantic information from the frames. This paper also describes a dataset
collection with several semantically labeled videos and introduces a new
smoothness evaluation metric for egocentric videos that is used to test our
method.Comment: Accepted for publication and presented in the First International

Strongly coupled plasma with electric and magnetic charges
A number of theoretical and lattice results lead us to believe that
Quark-Gluon Plasma not too far from contains not only electrically
charged quasiparticles -- quarks and gluons -- but magnetically charged ones --
monopoles and dyons -- as well. Although binary systems like charge-monopole
and charge-dyon were considered in details before in both classical and quantum
settings, it is the first study of coexisting electric and magnetic particles
in many-body context. We perform Molecular Dynamics study of strongly coupled
plasmas with particles and different fraction of magnetic charges.
Correlation functions and Kubo formulae lead to such transport properties as
diffusion constant, shear viscosity and electric conductivity: we compare the
first two with empirical data from RHIC experiments as well as results from
AdS/CFT correspondence. We also study a number of collective excitations in
these systems.Comment: 2nd version, 22 pages, 32 figures: two important new figures have
been included to compare our results with RHIC experiments and AdS/CFT
results; a few new references and comments are added as wel
A Note on the Local Cosmological Constant and the Dark Energy Coincidence Problem
It has been suggested that the Dark Energy Coincidence Problem could be
interpreted as a possible link between the cosmological constant and a massive
graviton. We show that by using that link and models for the graviton mass a
dark energy density can be obtained that is indeed very close to measurements
by WMAP. As a consequence of the models, the cosmological constant was found to
depend on the density of matter. A brief outline of the cosmological
consequences such as the effect on the black hole solution is given
On the Connection Between Momentum Cutoff and Operator Cutoff Regularizations
Operator cutoff regularization based on the original Schwinger's proper-time
formalism is examined. By constructing a regulating smearing function for the
proper-time integration, we show how this regularization scheme simulates the
usual momentum cutoff prescription yet preserves gauge symmetry even in the
presence of the cutoff scales. Similarity between the operator cutoff
regularization and the method of higher (covariant) derivatives is also
observed. The invariant nature of the operator cutoff regularization makes it a
promising tool for exploring the renormalization group flow of gauge theories
in the spirit of Wilson-Kadanoff blocking transformation.Comment: 28 pages in plain TeX, no figures. revised and expande
