Optimally controlled non-adiabatic quantum state transmission in the presence of quantum noise
Pulse controlled non-adiabatic quantum state transmission (QST) was proposed
many years ago. However, in practice environmental noise inevitably damages
communication quality in the proposal. In this paper, we study the optimally
controlled non-adiabatic QST in the presence of quantum noise. By using the
Adam algorithm, we find that the optimal pulse sequence can dramatically
enhance the transmission fidelity of such an open system. In comparison with
the idealized pulse sequence in a closed system, it is interesting to note that
the improvement of the fidelity obtained by the Adam algorithm can even be
better for a bath strongly coupled to the system. Furthermore, we find that the
Adam algorithm remains powerful for different number of sites and different
types of Lindblad operators, showing its universality in performing optimal
control of quantum information processing tasks
Quantum phase transition of Bose-Einstein condensates on a ring nonlinear lattice
We study the phase transitions in a one dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate
on a ring whose atomic scattering length is modulated periodically along the
ring. By using a modified Bogoliubov method to treat such a nonlinear lattice
in the mean field approximation, we find that the phase transitions are of
different orders when the modulation period is 2 and greater than 2. We further
perform a full quantum mechanical treatment based on the time-evolving block
decimation algorithm which confirms the mean field results and reveals
interesting quantum behavior of the system. Our studies yield important
knowledge of competing mechanisms behind the phase transitions and the quantum
nature of this system.Comment: 12 pages, 7 figure
Low frequency noise peak near magnon emission energy in magnetic tunnel junctions
We report on the low frequency (LF) noise measurements in magnetic tunnel
junctions (MTJs) below 4 K and at low bias, where the transport is strongly
affected by scattering with magnons emitted by hot tunnelling electrons, as
thermal activation of magnons from the environment is suppressed. For both
CoFeB/MgO/CoFeB and CoFeB/AlO/CoFeB MTJs, enhanced LF noise is observed
at bias voltage around magnon emission energy, forming a peak in the bias
dependence of noise power spectra density, independent of magnetic
configurations. The noise peak is much higher and broader for unannealed
AlO-based MTJ, and besides Lorentzian shape noise spectra in the
frequency domain, random telegraph noise (RTN) is visible in the time traces.
During repeated measurements the noise peak reduces and the RTN becomes
difficult to resolve, suggesting defects being annealed. The Lorentzian shape
noise spectra can be fitted with bias-dependent activation of RTN, with the
attempt frequency in the MHz range, consistent with magnon dynamics. These
findings suggest magnon-assisted activation of defects as the origin of the
enhanced LF noise.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figure
Yinchen Linggui Zhugan Decoction Ameliorates Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease in Rats by Regulating the Nrf2/ARE Signaling Pathway
Yinchen Linggui Zhugan Decoction (YCLGZGD) is the combination of Linggui Zhugan (LGZGD) and Yinchenhao (YCHD) decoctions, two famous traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions. In previous studies, we found that Yinchen Linggui Zhugan Decoction (YCLGZGD) could regulate lipid metabolism disorder and attenuate inflammation in pathological process of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, the exact underlying mechanism remains unknown. The aim of this study was to explore the effect of Yinchen Linggui Zhugan Decoction on experimental NAFLD and its mechanism in rats with high-fat diet (HFD) which was established by 8-week administration of HFD. YCLGZGD, LGZGD, and YCHD were administered daily for 4 weeks, after which the rats were euthanized. The level of blood lipid, liver enzymes, H&E, and Oil Red O staining were determined to evaluate NAFLD severity. Western blotting and real-time polymerase chain reaction were, respectively, used to determine hepatic protein and gene expression of Keap1, Nrf2, NQO1, and HO-1. Oral YCLGZGD ameliorated HFD-induced NAFLD. Furthermore, YCLGZGD increased the protein and gene expression of Nrf2, NQO1, and HO-1 without changing Keap1. Overall, these results suggest that YCLGZGD ameliorates HFD-induced NAFLD in rats by upregulating the Nrf2/ARE signaling pathway
