Microlearning as an Alternative Teaching Model: Influence of COVID-19 in Latin America and the Caribbean

The article focuses on the use of Microlearning as an educational response during the COVID-19 pandemic in Latin America and the Caribbean. It highlights how Microlearning, which consists of breaking down educational content into small, easy-to-understand units, has become an important trend. During the confinement, education systems adapted traditional methods to provide educational content in Microlearning format. Social networks played a crucial role in the delivery of microcontent and collaboration among students. Teachers’ roles varied, but their ability to manage technology was essential. A computer architecture based on disruptive information technologies for drug management in hospitals

The drug management currently carried out in hospitals is inadequate due to several factors, such as processes carried out manually, the lack of visibility of the hospital supply chain, the lack of standardized identification of medicines, inefficient stock management, an inability to follow the traceability of medicines, and poor data exploitation. Disruptive information technologies could be used to develop and implement a drug management system in hospitals that is innovative in all its phases and allows these problems to be overcome. However, there are no examples in the literature that show how these technologies can be used and combined for efficient drug management in hospitals. To help solve this research gap in the literature, this article proposes a computer architecture for the whole drug management process in hospitals that uses and combines different disruptive computer technologies such as blockchain, radio frequency identification (RFID), quick response code (QR), Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence and big data, for data capture, data storage and data exploitation throughout the whole drug management process, from the moment the drug enters the hospital until it is dispensed and eliminated

Domenico Greco y la <em>piccola pittura</em>

On the occasion of the four hundredth anniversary of the death of Dominico Greco, 2014 has been prodigal in exhibitions, courses and conferences focused on the figure and work of the Cretan artist, addressing different aspects of the artist’s versatile creativity. One key area has been the dedication of the master to miniatures, or rather, to the <em>piccola pittura</em>, a term which includes paintings of varying techniques, supports and even dimensions. This article explores El Greco’s works of this kind, which were connected with his early artistic training and the Byzantine icons that he produced on his native island, and which he continued producing once in Italy, when immersed in Venetian and Roman Renaissance painting. Also discussed are some works from his Spanish period, which may be considered <em>piccola pittura</em> on the basis of their dimensions and painting technique.<br><br>Con motivo de la conmemoración de los cuatro cientos años de la muerte de Dominico Greco, el año 2014 ha sido pródigo en exposiciones, cursos y encuentros centrados en la figura y la obra del artista cretense, abordándose diferentes aspectos de un artista de versátiles registros creativos. Uno de los apuntados ha sido el que recuerda la dedicación del maestro a la miniatura, o mejor, a la pintura de pequeñas dimensiones, a la <em>piccola pittura</em>; un término más amplio que permite incluir ejemplos variados en cuanto a técnica, soportes e incluso dimensiones. Este artículo retoma ese tipo de producción que enlaza con su formación inicial en su isla natal, consagrado a la realización de pequeñas obras sobre tabla y que prolongó igualmente en Italia durante su inmersión en la pintura del Renacimiento veneciano y romano. Se repasan también algunas de las obras españolas que pueden incluirse por dimensiones y técnica pictórica en el concepto de <em>piccola pittura</em>

Manipulating rumen microbiome and fermentation through interventions during early life: a review:Rumen manipulation in early life

The nutritional manipulations of the rumen microbiome to enhance productivity and health are rather limited by the resilience of the ecosystem once established in the mature rumen. Based on recent studies, it has been suggested that the microbial colonisation that occurs soon after birth opens a possibility of manipulation with potential to produce lasting effects into adult life. This paper presents the state-of-the-art in relation to early-life nutritional interventions by addressing three areas: the development of the rumen as an organ in regards to the nutrition of the new-born, the main factors that determine the microbial population that first colonizes and establishes in the rumen, and the key immunity players that contribute to shaping the commensal microbiota in the early stage of life to understand host-microbiome specificity. The development of the rumen epithelium and muscularization are differently affected by the nature of the diet and special care should be taken with regards to transition from liquid (milk) to solid feed. The rumen is quickly colonized by all type of microorganisms straight after birth and the colonization pattern may be influenced by several factors such as presence/absence of adult animals, the first solid diet provided, and the inclusion of compounds that prevent/facilitate the establishment of some microorganisms or the direct inoculation of specific strains. The results presented show how early-life events may be related to the microbial community structure and/or the rumen activity in the animals post-weaning. This would create differences in adaptive capacity due to different early life experiences and leads to the idea of microbial programming. However, many elements need to be further studied such as: the most sensitive window of time for interventions, the best means to test long term effectiveness, the role of key microbial groups and host-immune regulations

Evaluación de la gestión del conocimiento a nivel operacional en las pequeñas y medianas empresas (pymes)

La presente investigación es un estudio exploratorio con el objetivo de valorar la gestión del conocimiento a nivel operacional entre las pequeñas y medianas empresas (pymes). Con base en investigaciones previas y tomando en cuenta las características propias de las pymes de Hermosillo, Sonora, México, se elaboró un instrumento para evaluar la gestión del conocimiento nivel operativo en las fases de adquisición, de distribución y almacenamiento, y de utilización, el cual se aplicó de modo aleatorio en las pymes del escenario de estudio, y se encontró que aunque algunas están trabajando fuertemente en este tema, la mayoría de las empresas apenas están incursionando en la gestión del conocimiento. También se encontró que los administradores de las pymes consideran que los aspectos de mayor interés para la utilización de la gestión del conocimiento son sus clientes, seguidos de la innovación de productos y servicios y la toma de decisiones

Musicoteràpia amb alumnes d’Educació Especial

Dissetenes Jornades de Foment de la Investigació de la FCHS (Any 2012)De vegades, ens tanquem en la rutina i oblidem la quantitat de recursos i eines que tenim al nostre abast per a millorar la tasca educativa, fent‐la més significativa per a l’alumnat. Però en aquest cas, cada idea, cada recurs, cada nova experiència ajuden als nostres alumnes a millorar les seues competències, però de quina manera?. Proposem un projecte educatiu dissenyat per Arnau, Carbonell i Mancheño (2012), per a l’assignatura de “ Diseño, desarrollo e innovación del currículum”(UJI) donant resposta a aquesta qüestió.1 Aquest projecte es va desenvolupar al col·legi públic d’Educació Especial nº1(Castelló). Per tant, hi ha un tipus d’alumnat en concret, amb necessitats educatives especials greus i permanents, derivades d’una discapacitat, com ara Paràlisi Cerebral, Síndrome de Down, Síndrome de Rett, Discapacitat Intel·lectual (moderada, greu, profunda i no especificada), Transtorn de l’Espectre Autista i TDA‐H. L’elecció d’aquesta temàtica va ser degut a l’interès de l’alumnat per la música i trobar en aquest, un mitjà per afavorir la seva formació. Per tal de dur a terme aquest projecte, vam passar un qüestionari al professorat per veure si els interessava i quina formació tenien al respecte; format per 11 ítems, 8 de caràcter tancat i 3 d’obert. Després d’analitzar el qüestionari vam poder observar que el professorat no tenia formació ni recursos per tal de dur-lo a terme. Per tant, sense abandonar el procés d’aprenentatge per adaptar les activitats a l’evolució dels alumnes, considerem que la primera tasca serià formar als professionals e introduir què és la musicoteràpia, informació i tècniques sobre com treballar amb alumnat amb patologies, la creació de material, una posada en pràctica i una valoració respecte com anat el curs de formació

Conocimiento del profesor en cuanto a conocimiento del contenido y estudiantes en el tema de operaciones fundamentales con expresiones algebraicas en bachillerato

En esta investigación tratamos de identificar y comprender el conocimiento del contenido y estudiantes que evidencia en la práctica una profesora de educación media Superior respecto a tres categorías propuestas en Sosa (2011), en este caso en el tema de operaciones fundamentales con expresiones algebraicas. Para ello se realizó un estudio de caso apoyándonos en una serie de videograbaciones mientras se presenta ese contenido matemático, obteniéndose que la mayor parte de los resultados tienen que ver con la prevención de que los estudiantes se puedan quedar con alguna confusión en el contenido. Podemos afirmar que los profesores al implicarse en analizar el pensamiento matemático de los estudiantes les van a permitir ampliar su conocimiento para enseñar ese contenido matemático, dado que pueden establecer planeaciones más adecuadas al aprendizaje de las operaciones con expresiones algebraicas
