This study aimed to compare local dairy farmer ration formula with national research council in producing higher feed efficiency and milk production. This study had two stages. The first stage was in vitro study of dairy farmer rations which have different raw materials (R3, R4, and R5) with NRC based ration (R2) and Demo Farm ration (R1). The variables measured in this stage were proximate composition, volatile fatty acid, ammonia, dry matter and organic matter digestibility. The first stage used a randomized block design with five treatments, three groups of ruminal fluid, and three replications. The second stage used nine lactating cows with three periods of lactation (one, three, and other) and used a randomized block design with three treatments, three groups, and one replication. Parameters measured were dry matter intake, manure score, milk production, body weight gain, body condition score, and technical and economical efficiencies. The first stage result showed that R1, R2, and R3 were three best rations in nutrient composition and fermentability (ammonia and volatile fatty acid concentrations were optimum for microbial growth and high digestibility), so in conclusion those three rations were the best rations and should be compared by in vivo method. The result of the second stage showed that all tested rations were not significantly different in milk production, performance and efficiency, so in conclusion those three rations have the same quality

Aims of this research were to describe the morphology and analyze nutrient values of mature fruits at three different genomic groups of Indonesian banana cultivars including Pisang Berlin (AA), Ambon Hijau (AAA), Raja Bandung (ABB) and Kepok (ABB). Fruit characterization results show that each banana cultivar had specific characteristics related to their genomic group. Pisang Berlin has bright yellow peel and pulp, sugary taste. Pisang Ambon Hijau has fine curved fruit shape, sweet taste and aromatic. Pisang Raja Bandung has medium thickness and yellow peel, firm flesh, sweet and slightly acidic taste. Pisang Kepok has thick coarse and yellow peel with dark brown blotches, mild sweet taste. Fruit characters of Pisang Berlin and Ambon Hijau are close related to their ancestral parents' Musa acuminata wild species, whereas Pisang Kepok and Pisang Raja Bandung as hybrid cultivars have intermediate characters between Musa acuminata and Musa balbisiana wild species. Nutrient analysis revealed that mature banana pulp contain of high carbo-hydrates (16.72-35.24 g 100g-1), total sugar (12.12-20.82 g 100g-1), vitamin C (16.45-30.27 g 100g-1) and potassium (275-375 g 100g-1); moderate protein (1.48-1.78 g 100g-1) and low fat (0.03-0.08 g 100g-1). About 100 g edible portion of banana fruit produce 73.43 to 148.80 calories

The purpose of this research was to obtain edible film that meet physical and chemical characterictics of Japan Internasional Standard (JIS). This research was conducted from June 2015 to December 2015. This research used the randomized bloc design with one factor, the addition of eel surimi waste water (0 mL, 12 mL, 15 mL dan 18 mL). The observed parameters included chemical (water activity) and physical (thickness, percent of elongation, vapor transmission rate) characterictics. The results showed that there were no significant effects on thickness water activity, vapor transmission rate and percent of elongation. Furthermore, the edible film met Japan Industrial standard (JIS) based on thickness 0.139 to 0.214 mm, vapor transmission rate 3.514 to 7.133 g/m2/jam and the percent of elongation 106.22% to 174.55%

Industrialization and De-industrialization in Indonesia 1983-2008: a Kaldorian Approach

Economists have for a long time discussed the causes of economic growth and the mechanisms behind it. Kaldor viewed advanced economies as having a dual nature verysimilar to that of developing countries, with an agricultural sector with low productivity and surplus labour, and a capital intensive industrial sector characterized by rapid technical change and increasing returns. The transfer of labour resources from the agricultural sector to the industrial sector depends on the growth of the latter's derived demand for labour. With this background this study attempts to show the periods when the Indonesian economy indicated the processes of industrialization and deindustrialization. Italso attempts to identify whether the economy experienced positive deindustrialization (i.e., showed signs of economic maturity where service sector substituted the role of industrial sector as the engine of growth) or negative deindustrialization (i.e., showed signs of economic stagnancy where industrial sector could not grow rapidly enough to absorb surplus labour from agricultural sector). Lastly, this study attemps to analyze several factors that might be responsible for the process of the deindustrialization
