In the modern market economy, active use of scientific and technological progress, creation of high-tech products requires appropriate capacities and development of infrastructure, the presence of modern technology, advanced manufacturing, know-how and high-tech engineering services. The level of engineering services today defines and prerequisites improving the competitiveness of the national economy and an important competitive advantage for the government. Despite the fairly good theoretical work on engineering services development, today there is no detailed methodological basis of management, formation and development of engineering in countries with emerging market economies. In this regard, in the study an attempt is made to synthesize the theory and practice of market development of engineering services on the example of the Russian Federation. This focuses on the development and market forecasting of engineering. In a study a deep analysis of the theory and practice of development of Russian market of engineering services is made, the main trends and challenges of this market in close coordination with the global trends are identified, classification and segmentation of the global and Russian market of engineering services is carried out, the author's approach to the interpretation of “complex engineering services” is proposed, the reasonable forecast and recommendations for the development of the engineering market for the period up to 2022 is prepared.peer-reviewe

The article offers an analysis of the strategies of self-representation in the ego-documents of Izabella Grinevskaia (1854(?)-1944), a Russian poet, writer and translator active in the first third of the 20th century. It reveals the contrast between Grinevskaia’s authentic biography and the information she puts forward, sometimes distorting facts from her biography in order to bridge the gap between her self-chosen image and her real life. The article shows to what extent this life-creation strategy influenced the choice of ego-documents Grinevskaia kept for future readers, the content of her memories and the narrative structure of her memoirs.

Maximilian Voloshin between Spirit and Matter

This thesis considers in tandem the verbal and visual production of the Russian modernist poet and artist Maximilian Voloshin (1877-1932), whose work, I argue, was polarized between the spiritual and the material realms. This tension between spirit and matter is manifested in his poetry, prose, and visual works, as well as in his life-creation practices (zhiznetvorchestvo). I contend that Voloshin understood his creative task as being to display the true essence of things by purifying ideas or symbols of their material “layers”, thereby recognizing the otherworldly in physical objects. One of Voloshin’s most crucial concepts is the “Apollonian dream”. He understood this as a source of the transcendental that coexists alongside the tangibility and concreteness of his poems and landscapes and his emphasis on form. This spirit-matter dyad is reflective of the profoundly eclectic nature of Voloshin’s creative corpus which emerged at the intersection of Naturalism, Symbolism, and Acmeism

Common variants in Alzheimer’s disease and risk stratification by polygenic risk scores

Genetic discoveries of Alzheimer’s disease are the drivers of our understanding, and together with polygenetic risk stratification can contribute towards planning of feasible and efficient preventive and curative clinical trials. We first perform a large genetic association study by merging all available case-control datasets and by-proxy study results (discovery n = 409,435 and validation size n = 58,190). Here, we add six variants associated with Alzheimer’s disease risk (near APP, CHRNE, PRKD3/NDUFAF7, PLCG2 and two exonic variants in the SHARPIN gene). Assessment of the polygenic risk score and stratifying by APOE reveal a 4 to 5.5 years difference in median age at onset of Alzheimer’s disease patients in APOE ɛ4 carriers. Because of this study, the underlying mechanisms of APP can be studied to refine the amyloid cascade and the polygenic risk score provides a tool to select individuals at high risk of Alzheimer’s disease
