MAMA: An Algebraic Map for the Secular Dynamics of Planetesimals in Tight Binary Systems
We present an algebraic map (MAMA) for the dynamical and collisional
evolution of a planetesimal swarm orbiting the main star of a tight binary
system (TBS). The orbital evolution of each planetesimal is dictated by the
secular perturbations of the secondary star and gas drag due to interactions
with a protoplanetary disk. The gas disk is assumed eccentric with a constant
precession rate. Gravitational interactions between the planetesimals are
ignored. All bodies are assumed coplanar. A comparison with full N-body
simulations shows that the map is of the order of 100 times faster, while
preserving all the main characteristics of the full system.
In a second part of the work, we apply MAMA to the \gamma-Cephei, searching
for friendly scenarios that may explain the formation of the giant planet
detected in this system. For low-mass protoplanetary disks, we find that a
low-eccentricity static disk aligned with the binary yields impact velocities
between planetesimals below the disruption threshold. All other scenarios
appear hostile to planetary formation
Generalized commutation relations and Non linear momenta theories, a close relationship
A revision of generalized commutation relations is performed, besides a
description of Non linear momenta realization included in some DSR theories. It
is shown that these propositions are closely related, specially we focus on
Magueijo Smolin momenta and Kempf et al. and L.N. Chang generalized
commutators. Due to this, a new algebra arises with its own features that is
also analyzed.Comment: accepted version in IJMP
Recent variation of the Las Vacas Glacier Mt. Aconcagua region, Central Andes, Argentina, based on ASTER stereoscopic images
This work presents the results of the ASTER stereoscopic image processing to calculate the volume changes of Las Vacas Glacier. The processing of medium resolution satellite images (ASTER level 1A – pixel 15 m) from February 2001 and 2007 was performed applying the satellite digital photogrammetry method (Kääb, 2005). The comparison of the two generated DTM returns results that are acceptable within the parameters and precisions that can be obtained with this kind of sensor and the processing methodology
Supersymmetric partners of the trigonometric Poschl-Teller potentials
The first and second-order supersymmetry transformations are used to generate
Hamiltonians with known spectra departing from the trigonometric Poschl-Teller
potentials. The several possibilities of manipulating the initial spectrum are
fully explored, and it is shown how to modify one or two levels, or even to
leave the spectrum unaffected. The behavior of the new potentials at the
boundaries of the domain is studied.Comment: 20 pages, 4 figure
1-D Harmonic Oscillator in Snyder Space, the Classic and the Quantum
The 1-D dimension harmonic oscillator in Snyder space is investigated in its
classical and quantum versions. The classical trajectory is obtained and the
semiclassical quantization from the phase space trajectories is discussed. In
the meanwhile, an effective cutoff to high frequencies is found. The quantum
version is developed and an equivalent usual harmonic oscillator is obtained
through an effective mass and an effective frequency introduced in the model.
This modified parameters give us an also modified energy spectra.Comment: 8 pages, 2 figure
Web Browsing Behavior Analysis and Interactive Hypervideo

The definitive version was published in, ACM Transactions on the Web, Vol. 7, No. 4, Article 20, Publication date: October 2013.http://doi.acm.org/ 10.1145/2529995.2529996[EN] Processing data on any sort of user interaction is well known to be cumbersome and mostly time consuming.
In order to assist researchers in easily inspecting fine-grained browsing data, current tools usually display
user interactions as mouse cursor tracks, a video-like visualization scheme. However, to date, traditional
online video inspection has not explored the full capabilities of hypermedia and interactive techniques.
In response to this need, we have developed SMT 2ǫ, a Web-based tracking system for analyzing browsing
behavior using feature-rich hypervideo visualizations. We compare our system to related work in academia
and the industry, showing that ours features unprecedented visualization capabilities. We also show that
SMT 2ǫ efficiently captures browsing data and is perceived by users to be both helpful and usable. A series of
prediction experiments illustrate that raw cursor data are accessible and can be easily handled, providing
evidence that the data can be used to construct and verify research hypotheses. Considering its limitations,
it is our hope that SMT 2ǫ will assist researchers, usability practitioners, and other professionals interested
in understanding how users browse the Web.This work was partially supported by the MIPRCV Consolider Ingenio 2010 program (CSD2007-00018) and the TIN2009-14103-C03-03 project. Role of Modern Localised Electrochemical Techniques to Evaluate the Corrosion on Heterogeneous Surfaces
Nonlinear supersymmetry: from classical to quantum mechanics
Quantization of the nonlinear supersymmetry faces a problem of a quantum
anomaly. For some classes of superpotentials, the integrals of motion admit the
corrections guaranteeing the preservation of the nonlinear supersymmetry at the
quantum level. With an example of the system realizing the nonlinear
superconformal symmetry, we discuss the nature of such corrections and
speculate on their possible general origin.Comment: 11 page
Modified (A)dS Schwarzschild black holes in Rainbow spacetime
A modified (Anti-)de Sitter Schwarzschild black hole solution is presented in
the framework of rainbow gravity with a cosmological constant. Its
thermodynamical properties are investigated. In general the temperature of
modified black holes is dependent on the energy of probes which take the
measurement. However, a notion of intrinsic temperature can be introduced by
identifying these probes with radiation particles emitted from black holes. It
is interesting to find that the Hawking temperature of this sort of black holes
can be reproduced by employing the extended uncertainty principle and modified
dispersion relations to the ordinary (A)dS Schwarzschild black holes.Comment: 11 pages. The version to appear in CQ
