    This paper is to deliberate the subjects of the effective communication channel in delivering common motifs in Selayah Keringkamby assessing the local and International tourists’ preference. It is to evaluate the hypotheses Testing On validity of Effective Communication and Common Motif of Selayah KeringkamTowards the communication channel. The finding of this paper is to enhance the implications on developing a significant way to disseminate Selayah Keringkam as a heritage product in Sarawak. This paper will expose a substantial relationship between the independent variables (Common Motif of Selayah Keringkam), the dependent variables (Channels of Communication) and the mediator (Supplement of Effective Communication) as a new framework to the body of knowledge. This research involved 384 respondents with 5 relevant authorities related to answering research questions. The data collected from the fieldwork were analysed using SPSS version 24. The measures used in this article are methodically deliberated using factor analysis and correlation analysis. Lastly, the results of the regression analyses testing on hypotheses and summary of hypotheses assessments are presented

    The role of communication in embroidery has increased through the diversity of cultural or heritage. Motif in textile possess an important communicative role as an extension of spoken and written language. This research focuses on motif of Selayah Keringkam embroidery as a content to be delivered through communication channels, 4C’s Effective Communication that consists of Comprehension, Connection, Credibility and Contagiousness. Mix methods have been using in this study by distributing 50 set of questionnaires and in-depth interview session with related authorities. Conceptual framework in this study aims to position Selayah Keringkam embroidery among tourist to raise awareness of this cultural product

    Service Quality Evaluation of Ancient City Scenic Spots Based on Tourists' Perceptions: An Example of Qingzhou Ancient

    From the perspective of tourist service perception, this study is the first to evaluate the service quality of the Qingzhou Ancient City tourist scenic area. The study adopts the SERVQUAL model and modifies it into a tourist service quality model specifically designed for ancient city scenic areas to measure the gap between tourists' perceived service quality and expected service quality in the context of the ancient city scenic area. The study also examines the influence of each dimension of this model on tourist satisfaction. Qingzhou Ancient City is chosen as a case study because it has a relatively high rating among ancient city scenic areas in China. The results indicate that tourists' overall satisfaction with the service in Qingzhou Ancient City is average. Among the six dimensions of this model, "historical and cultural significance," "assurance," and "empathy" are identified as key predictors of tourist satisfaction. This paper discusses the research findings and elucidates their managerial implications

    Bridging the Standard Operating Procedures between Creative Departments Personnel in Shopping Malls

    The aim of this paper is to analyze and introduce a new set of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in the creative department in selected Shopping Malls in Kuching, and Kota Samarahan, Sarawak. SOP is a set of written guideline or instruction that can be followed by personnel in a department. SOP acts as a detailed written document that guides employees and ensure the working flow is at its optimum usage. Apart from that, SOP is also executed as a bridge between the employees and their daily job descriptions. Through preliminary research, two main problems have been identified such as creative departments work without implementation of SOP, and the departments in their organizations have inefficient rules and guidelines in delivering their daily routines. By recognizing these challenges, the hypothesis of this research is through the proposed new set of SOP that will give advantage for management team to manage and monitor the creative department more efficiently. Consequently, in this first phase of this theoretical study, a few SOP models and frameworks will be analyzed and explored in terms of the relevancy and significant elements before being adapted as a research outcome

    Bridging the Arts, Tourism, and Cultural Sector through Public-Private Partnership Collaborations

    Public Private Partnership (PPP) has become increasingly popular choice for policymakers to implement important public works or events projects, especially when facing the shortage of financial resources allocated by the government and where it is necessary to counter public inefficiency (Terry, 1996 and Alfen et al., 2009). Under the Ninth Malaysia Plan, the government announced the organization of public events through the Public Private Partnership (hereafter cited as PPP) initiative. The Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia implements this policy as it recognizes the key role of PPP in developing and sustaining the local cultural tourism industry that has great potential for promoting Malaysia as an international tourist destination. Taking into consideration the key role of PPP in the country’s cultural tourism industry, this evaluative research seeks to analyze the effectiveness of the strategic alliances between the arts, tourism, and cultural organizations using the Partnership Model adopted from the Government-Non-profit model (Brinkerhoff, 2002). A survey was administered to the management staffs of selected government agencies, offices, units, and private sectors that were involved in the PPP projects during the course research. The survey data were analyzed using correlation and nonparametric analyses and the results were discussed. The data gathered were analyzed through correlation and Non-parametric statistics analysis. Thus, a new partnership model of Art, Tourism and Culture will be constructed to be used a guideline in the PPP collaboration projects

    Public-Private Partnership (PPP) is an increasingly popular choice for policymakers in implementing important public works or events projects especially when facing shortage of government’s financial resources and when it is necessary to counter public inefficiency. Under the Ninth Malaysia Plan, the government had officially announced the implementation of public events using the Public Private Partnership (PPP). The Malaysian Ministry of Tourism and Culture applies this policy whereby they recognize the importance of PPP in sustaining and developing the cultural and tourism industry as the main product in promoting Malaysia to the world. By recognizing these benefits, this evaluative study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the strategic alliances in arts, tourism and cultural organizations based on the Partnership Model adopted from the Government-Non-profit framework. To carry forward this study, quantitative method was employed through survey and questionnaires targeted to the management staffs of selected government agencies, offices, units and private sectors that are engaged in this PPP projects. The data gathered were analyzed through correlation and non-parametric statistics analysis. The final outcome of the survey based on the dimensions constructed in the framework will be implemented in the real PPP collaboration projects

It is like a life to all organizations as it is merely impossible to move forward without leadership. This 21st century world and generation demand for a more different leadership practice which is more flexible. Basically, it all lies in the hands of a leader on how strategic the leadership is going to be and how well a team’s talent can be extracted. This paper presents a conceptual framework that studies the artistic skills and leadership characteristics to be included in the leadership styles. This paper also addresses the independent variables and the dependent variables which formed the whole framework. Systematic review methodology is employed whereby data are obtained from evidenced literatures. The justification behind choosing each and every variables are provided based on valid literature sources. Art is being bridged into leadership for a newer change and experience. Explanations are also provided on how this framework actually works. This framework serves as guideline which is applicable to all organizations in the country. The main aim of this paper is to suggest a newer practice of leadership to bring a new and better change to the organization and country

    Validate theme park outdoor event risk management factors using correlations and content analysis

    Theme park is a recreational place that aimed to create experience of fun to its participants. According to John & Gyimóthy (2002), theme parks provide exciting experience towards emotional content instead of being viewed as commercial service offerings which is the utility of tourism service provision. The elements that comprised a theme park including rides, roller coaster, landscape, restaurant, toilets, and souvenir shop. In Malaysia, theme park activities become one of the recreational activities for citizens to spend their vacations. Some of the outdoor theme parks that can be found in Malaysia are Legoland Malaysia, Sunway Lagoon, Lost World of Tambun, Bukit Gambang Resort and Melaka Wonderland. The activities of outdoor theme park are associated with risks. Risk is an uncertainty that inherent in our daily activities. According to Sport and Recreation New Zealand (SPARC) (2010), risk if happens will stop you for achieving daily activities and even organization goals and objectives. The sources of risk are therefore needed to be identified to take appropriate actions for minimizing its negative effects to the public and theme park organizations. The neagative effects of risk to public and theme park organizations can be in terms of loss of material and non-material forms, for instance, physical injury or psychological fear. To carry forward this research, mixed method was employed. In quantitative approach, survey and questionnaires distributed to the public who have been to outdoor theme park. In qualitative approach, in-depth interview targeted to management officer who work in risk and safety area in outdoor theme park. The data gathered from survey and questionnaires were analyzed through correlation analysis while information collected from in-depth interview were analyzed through content analysis
