Nonlinear Schrodinger equation with chaotic, random, and nonperiodic nonlinearity
In this paper we deal with a nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equation with chaotic,
random, and nonperiodic cubic nonlinearity. Our goal is to study the soliton
evolution, with the strength of the nonlinearity perturbed in the space and
time coordinates and to check its robustness under these conditions. Comparing
with a real system, the perturbation can be related to, e.g., impurities in
crystalline structures, or coupling to a thermal reservoir which, on the
average, enhances the nonlinearity. We also discuss the relevance of such
random perturbations to the dynamics of Bose-Einstein Condensates and their
collective excitations and transport.Comment: 4 pages, 6 figure

Effect of pressure on the quantum spin ladder material IPA-CuCl3
Inelastic neutron scattering and bulk magnetic susceptibility studies of the
quantum S=1/2 spin ladder system IPA-CuCl3 are performed under hydrostatic
pressure. The pressure dependence of the spin gap is determined. At
GPa it is reduced to meV from meV at
ambient pressure. The results allow us to predict a soft-mode quantum phase
transition in this system at P GPa. The measurements are
complicated by a proximity of a structural phase transition that leads to a
deterioration of the sample.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure

A entrega de um filho em adoção e as vicissitudes de ser mãe
This study aimed to investigate the feelings and experiences of motherhood of a woman who delivered two daughters for adoption. Furthermore, investigate their experiences in relation to her other children not delivered and with the condition of being a mother in this context. Using a semi-structured interview, we conducted a single case study, qualitative, through clinical report. The main results indicated the social and emotional vulnerability of the participant as an important influence on the delivery and a differentiation between children who remained in their care and daughters delivered for adoption. It was also noted the maternal role strongly related to maternal care and the different emotional reactions to experiences of delivery. We conclude the relevance of providing space for these mothers elaborate their stories, beyond the need for public policies that give legal and emotional support to mothers/families who wish to make delivery of children
